I'm using laravel 5.7 to build an API REST.
When I add the verified middleware to my route group and I try to login with an unverified user by my client api, I get the error 400 Bad request. This error is too generic and don't show the problem clearly for my customer (it's happens in a login form).
If I to edit the render() method in Handler.php to ignore the isApiCall() and return parent::render($request, $e);, so I get the full error (Your email address is not verified, status 403), but when I try to return this in a json object with response()->json([$e]), the response is always empty.
So how to handle properly the api errors to be return the full message from exception, in this case?
You probably have already solved this problem, but this solution might help someone else:
The reason why your response was returning an empty array is because you were passing an Exception type object into the json function that is expecting an array. The response should look like this:
return response()->json(['message' => $e->getMessage()]);
This will return a json response like:
{
"message": "Your email address is not verified"
}

All welcome, I ran into a problem in which at the time of passing id and body in the method it is received, it gives 500 errors. In swagger I have an infected method, it looks like this:
swagger
Accordingly, in the body of the request, I pass all the parameters of the fields it needs (I drive them in strictly, just to check for operability):
code
In response I get this:
response
If you try to do the same in the swagger, then the method works and a 200 response comes:
swagger 200 response
What am I doing wrong?
I tried to make the code asynchronous, I tried to pass fields in different ways, but nothing happens, the answer comes 500
Try to put the id field inside the obj.
const form = {
id: 790,
...
}
You are passing too much params inside the callback (id, form).
Recently I have been updating my GO REST APIs into graphQl API's and I came across issue where I am unable to customise my status code with gqlgen.
Response I got
Headers
Status Code: 200 OK
{
data: null,
errors: [
{message: "Unauthorized access", path: ["..."]}
]
}
Expected Header
Status Code: 401 UNAUTHORISED
Any help would be really appreciating!
Assume you have a gqlgen resolver similar to this:
func (r *queryResolver) SecretItems(ctx context.Context, userID string,
password string) ([]SecretItems, error) {
// ...
if !isAuthorized(userID, password) {
return nil, errors.New("Unauthorized access")
}
// ...
}
then the described behavior is expected. Errors should be returned as part of
the response body.
GraphQL is transport agnostic. While it is often served over HTTP, it might be
served over other client-server Protocols as well. Handling errors in the
response body requires no assumptions about the protocol. Hence, you shouldn't
rely on HTTP status codes.
Handling errors in the response body has another advantage: Assume a request
contains multiple queries. Some of them succeed, some of them fail. Then the
response can contain the result of successful queries under data and errors
related to failed queries under errors.

Possible reason why you expected a 401 status code
The gqlgen docs on
authentication contain an example
where 401 status code is returned.
Why? This happens in a http handler used as middleware on the chi http server.
The 401 status code is not returned by a GraphQL resolver.
I am building an API about email auth code.
Its process is simple.
input random code (client browser)
request with input code. (client browser)
receive the request (server)
scan the code from DB (server)
there is no code matched (server)
return a response with status code.
There are many status code, (2xx, 4xx, 5xx);
but I don't know which status code number is the most proper for this case.
It depends on the semantics you want to give your request. E.g.:
The API should search for items matching the query and return a list of results, like GET /codes?q=4ba69g. Think a "search page". In this case, an empty result [] is a perfectly valid result; nothing was wrong with the query, it just didn't return any matches. That's a 200 OK, or maybe a 204 No Content if you want to omit the empty response body entirely.
The code is treated like a resource, e.g. GET /codes/4ba69g. In this case a missing code would result in a 404 Not Found.
It's an action you want to perform which may fail, e.g. POST /login. If the user supplied the wrong credentials/code and hence the action cannot complete, that's a client-side error and therefore a 400 Bad Request.
https://developers.google.com/sheets/api/reference/rest/v4/spreadsheets.values/batchUpdateByDataFilter
We have used above function in our code, while we are passing the more than 50 or 100 records within the array records then given 400 bad request array in response.
Can anyone describe the limit of the total values that we are going to pass within the above function?
Here is my code:
$batchupdate = array("valueInputOption" => "RAW", "data" => $dataarray);
try {
$requestBody = new Google_Service_Sheets_BatchUpdateValuesByDataFilterRequest($batchupdate);
$response = $service->spreadsheets_values->BatchUpdateByDataFilter($spreadsheetId, $requestBody);
}
catch(Exception $e) {
echo 'Message: ' . $e->getMessage();
}
Troubleshooting:
Problems with the Request
Until you attach a sanitized version of your Request body we cannot be sure about the root-cause of the problem you are facing.
However, an error 400 means that the request you did is invalid. So, most likely, the problem is in that.
Check if your request object is formatted as detailed on the documentation.
Problems with the Client
If you are able to use the Try this API sidebar with the same Request Body then it could be related to the PHP client.
Note: This is language independent. Create a JSON Object that has the same structure as your request body.
If that's the case, we will need to see more of your code to verify that you are not using your valid Request body in an invalid way (eg. sending it encapsulated in another object).
By referencing the PHP Library documentation you can see the properties of the objects you can use.
I'm trying to get access token from hail after get an authorization code from url https://hail.to/oauth/authorise?client_id={$client_id}&redirect_uri={$redirect_url}&response_type=code&scope=user.basic+user.manage+org.basic+content.read+content.read+content.connections
After getting the code from the above url, the documentation they provide does not state what should be the correct parameter to get an access_token. The documentation says it should be a POST method to get access token by using url https://hail.to/api/v1/oauth/access_token?client_id={$client_id}&client_secret={$client_secret}&grant_type=authorization_code&code={$client_access_token_code}&redirect_uri={$redirect_url}.
When I try this, I get the following error response:
{
"error" : {
"message" : "The request is missing a required parameter, includes an invalid parameter value, includes a parameter more than once, or is otherwise malformed. Check the \"grant_type\" parameter.",
"error_code" : null
}
}
If anyone has faced this problem, please help me out on this.
I don't know what should be the correct parameter for grant type.
