The windows installer documentation makes many references to "versioned" and "nonversioned" files (for example, see this or this). However, nowhere could I find which files are considered "versioned" or "nonversioned".
I know that PE-format files (eg., .dll and .exe files) are considered versioned, and the version is read from the VersionInfo resource embedded in these files.
What about other files, for example TTF font files? These files do have a version header which is recognized by windows (for example in fontview and windows explorer), but it is not the same as PE files.
How does msi determine whether a file is versioned or nonversioned? Based on the extension only? Or do it attempt to read known headers / resources? Are those supported extensions (or file formats) documented anywhere?

Windows Installer supports version information coming from PE versioninfo resources and TTF font headers. The extension isn't used. The MsiGetFileVersion function provides a public API to do the same version checking that MSI does internally.

I have used VB5 extensively and it created exe files - easy to deploy without having to install much else. I will be really disappointed if my recent use of "modern" .net (I moved over for extra features) means I can't even create the age old simple exe file... What a pain! Hope I'm wrong...
When you build a project an exe file will appear by default in either the bin/Debug/ or bin/Release/ directory (depending on the build configuration) under your project every time you compile it.
It's not a "native" exe file though, so it will require the .NET Framework to be installed to run, however most relevant machines should already have at least some version installed.

I'm writing a manual for translators and can't find an easy and official way of Qt Linguist editor distribution. It looks like you can get it for Linux by downloading qttools5-dev-tools package. But for other systems?
Qt5 online installer doesn't seems to provide a separate Linguist component to download and I'm not sure if it's a part of QtCreator component. It's not feasible to force translators to install whole Qt framework bundle or even IDE to get it. I expected to find some Qt5 libraries redistributable+ Qt Linguist app + manuals in one package, but don't see any on qt.io.
Any recommendations?
This site has standalone Qt Linguist installers for Windows & macOS

I need to know if ANTLR version 4.7 has been tested and verified on Windows 10. Is there any way to know if it supports Windows 10 without having to build the ANTLR code and run the tests myself?
ANTLR is written in Java and should run on any version of Windows, Linux or Mac that has a recent version of Java installed.
Therefore, "proof" can be performed in three steps, not necessary on the same system:
Check which versions of Java are compatible with ANTLR 4.7. As per documentation, Java 1.6 should be compatible.
Check that compatible version of Java runs on Windows 10. As per documentation, Java was certified on Windows 10 starting with Java 8 Update 51
Check that the target system has a compatible version on Java installed.
I am assuming that OP does not need to recompile ANTLR tool (parser generator) itself so he/she can use the pre-built JAR. If this is not the case, ANTLR tool can also be rebuild on another system.

This may be a very easy question, but I can't find it's solution.
I am using Adobe Photoshop CS6. I am trying to install Webbsy.
It is a 3rd party Adobe Photoshop Plugin. I have downloaded it and get a .zxp file (webbsy-cc-1.2.3.zxp). I have downloaded it for CS6 (Adobe CC is also available).
But I don't know how to install a 3rd party plugin in Adobe Photoshop CS6.
So, I can't use it. I am using win 8.1 OS and I want to use 14 day trial or this plugin.
Can anyone help me please to install it?
Thanks in advance for helping.
On http://www.webbsy.com/download
It say:
Please Note
You must have Adobe Extension Manager installed in order to use this plugin.

I am trying to implement minification and concatenation in my Worklight project.
I followed the steps that were given in the IBM Worklight Information Center and Concatenation is working however Minification worked.
Where to check whether the js and css files are minified or not.
Reading materials:
Please make sure to thoroughly read these. Some of your questions are answered there (and below...).
Concatenation of JS and CSS files
Minification of JS and CSS files
Follow the below steps to verify minification is working for you.
This is what I've done:
Created a new Worklight project, "minification"
Created a new Worklight application, "testapp"
Added the Mobile Web environment
Note: For minification and concatenation only Mobile Web and Desktop Browser environments are supported.
In build-settings.xml I have added the Mobile Web environment
Pointed the includes field to: **/js/testapp.js
Note: Use a semicolon ; to separate entries: **/js/*;testapp.css
Right-clicked the Mobile Web environment folder and then on Run As > Apply build settings... > Use minification to reduce the size of JavaScript and CSS files > Save and run
Copied myProject\bin\testapp-mobilewebapp-1.0.wlapp to the Desktop
Extracted it (it's basically a zipped file) and looked at www\default\js\testapp.js
