Error starting "XAMPP" stack: cannot start stack: ssh not accessible - ssh

Hello recently i installed XAMPP on my MAC and it was working fine then it stopped working with the following error:

I tried to reinstall XAMPP still the problem exists, i search around for a fix but had no luck anyone know how to fix it?

The folder is in your /Users/ folder but it is hidden. You can remove it from a Terminal
rm -rf ~/.bitnami

try putting off your firewall and retry , see if it works

You can refer here if it's a firewall problem.
To turn off the firewall:
Go to System Preferences
Then, Security&Privacy
Third tab, Firewall
Also, it might be due to built-in Apache server. Refer here.
You can try:
sudo launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/org.apache.httpd.plist
It allows you to use a different port, which is 80.

My problem was my Express VPN was on. I turned off VPN and the error goes away.

Can't connect VS Code to Linux machine for remote development

I am getting this error on VS Code and have no clue why it fails

In dialog box where you have typed user#host type/select Linux/Windows/etc. depends what you are using, then type/select Continue, then type password for remote session.
For those getting this error on Windows: Check if you have multiple ssh clients installed.
How I solved it was by adding my ssh-configuration to ALL ssh-config files.
In my case I had one in
C:\Users\USER_NAME.ssh\config (this is the one that the remote extension used to give me connection options)
and another in C:\Program Data\ssh\ssh-config
After adding my ssh-config setting to both I got the prompt to select virtual hosts' OS. Tried editing the settings.json file directly, but I think it gets confused because of the multiple ssh-configurations.

Tested it for both private key and password enabled connections and it work with either.
I got a similar problem, but the error logs were bigger. Before that, I deleted the python and reinstalled it. Perhaps this led to the problem. Just reinstalled "Remote -SSH" extension in vscode and it worked for me.
In my case there were two files that look like
vscode-remote-lock.<user>.<xxx>
vscode-remote-lock.<user>.<xxx>.target
where was my remote user name and xxx the VS Code Remote Server build hash.
These two files on the remote server in the folder.
/run/user/1000/
I deleted both files and then VS Code came up right away. I have encountered this a few times now. VS Code Remote Server install is not very robust. I use it on about 7 remote machines and every once in a while something goes awry and it cannot recover from simple errors and gets stuck in installation loops.
This trick only works if there is a valid ~/.vscode-server on the remote machine with a hash that matches your local VS Code installation.
If you got here because you were trying to install VS Code in the first place and for whatever reason VS Code had issues with the remote installation, I highly recommend installing it manually by downloading and extracting the tar file to the remote machine directly.
I have tried playing with the setting "Use remote.SSH: Use Flock" and other tricks posted on StackOverflow but none of these work for me whenever I have remote installation issues. I cannot figure out why on some machines, a smooth remote installation is not possible. Even when all of my ssh keys and remote ids have been copied and tested from both the Windows command line and inside a WSL Ubuntu instance.
If VS Code Remote Server installation had slightly better error logic and better error messages none of us would be wasting hours doing this simple task.
I was getting the exact same error as the original poster received and yet none of the other answers were my issue.

Minikube on Windows and HyperV: Stuck on prompt "minikube login"

I'm "extremely" new to Kubernetes, and I wanted to try it out on my local machine, which is running Windows 10 along with HyperV. I saw that minikube is used for local development, and I was able to find in on Chocolatey, so I installed it using that:
choco install minikube -y
(I think this also installs kubectl)
The problem I have is that I'm not able to start it; I'm running the following command:
minikube start --vm-driver=hyperv
I have an external switch configured in HyperV (I found it as a suggestion somewhere), but when I run the command, it's stuck in Creating VM ...
I thought maybe it would give me a clue if I look at the VM created in HyperV, and when I open that, I see the following:
So, it seems that it's waiting for input, and that's why it's stuck! I tried searching for the problem, but to no avail.
I would appreciate any help
PS: It seems to me that if I wait long enough, the following message appears on the console:
Temporary Error: provisioning: error getting ssh client: Error dialing
tcp via ssh client: ssh: handshake failed: ssh: unable to authenticate,
attempted methods [none publickey], no supported methods remain
So, somehow by chance, I think I found how to resolve the issue.
First thing is that: the fact the VM is displaying that prompt (minikube login) seems to be normal, and it does NOT prevent the minikube start from succeeding.
To resolve the issue, this is what I did:
Delete ~/.kube directory
Delete ~/.minikube directory (in case it exists)
The MOST IMPORTANT step: stop/start the Hyper-V Virtual Machine Management Windows service
These steps seem to have solved the issue for me
PS: I used this command to start minikube and enable verbose logging:
minikube start --vm-driver hyperv -v 7 --alsologtostderr
Farzad, what resources have you used for setting up the minikube? Can you please clarify what do you mean by "unable to start". Are the regular kubectl commands working?
For example kubectl get nodes? That is of course if below steps won't help you.

You mentioned that you've created the vSwitch, you should be using a flag that is pointing minikube to use that external vSwitch:
minikube start --vm-driver hyperv --hyperv-virtual-switch "vSwitch name"
You also mentioned choco, did you install kubernetes-cli (as you did not mention it in the question)? It might be the reason why your commands do not work (seems like the new version downloads kubectl with choco install minikube):

At this moment I recommend stoping the minikube VM:
minikub stop
Delete the cluster
minikube delete
Sometimes regular minikube stop, minikube delete does not work so you might have to manually turn off the minikubeVM in Hyper-V, then I recommend to go to c:\users\%username%\ and delete .kube and .minikube.
Use cuninst minikube
Restart and install again as specified in the minikube documentation:
choco install minikube
choco install kubernetes-cli
As for the error you mentioned, let's try to run the cluster properly, and if this persists, we will take care of it.
Try this:
kubectl config use-context minikube
I encountered the same issue. The reason was I chose the wrong disk file to start my VM after creating it in Virtual Box.
This solved my issue.
minikube delete

I am trying to install rabbitmq. The installation of both erlang i.e OTP 18.1 file was done successfulyl and also rabbitmq installation completed successfully. But when I try to connect rabbitmq, I get the following error:

I may be replying really late, but still I'm facing this issue. So it may help somebody event while installing rabbitmq version 3.6.5. To change the node name, open "rabbitmq-env.bat" under "installation dir\sbin" and change RABBITMQ_NODENAME to "rabbit#localhost" (line number 90 in rabbitmq 3.6.5). But make sure you remove the windows service, do change the nodename, install service and start it. This worked for me.
No other options worked for me which were marked as right answer in stackoverflow!
Remove the RabbitMQ service. Uninstall RabbitMQ. Kill the epmd.exe process. Delete your c:\users\\AppData\Roaming\RabbitMQ Directory.
Go to Control Panels -> System -> Advanced -> Environment Variables
Add a variable named RABBITMQ_NODENAME and set it to rabbit#localhost
Reinstall RabbitMQ.
Navigate to the RabbitMQ sbin directory (or run the command from the start menu) and run rabbitmqctl status.
You should no longer see the (cannot connect to host/port) error.
And yes, this will fix your Cisco AnyConnect VPN related installation issues.

Go in C:\Users\<YourUserName>\AppData\Roaming\RabbitMQ
Create a file rabbitmq-env.conf
Add the following:

NODE_IP_ADDRESS=127.0.0.1
NODENAME=rabbit#localhost
The above is my env-config, for this particular issue setting
the nodename will be sufficient.
Turn off you firewall & start the rabbitmq, it will work. After running it one time, even if you turn on the firewall, it will work.
This works for me in Windows 10 machine.
in your shell
$ export RABBITMQ_NODENAME=rabbit#localhost
$ /sbin/rabbitmq-server -detached
change rabbit#INLN50899724A
to rabbit#localhost and try again.
Or, edits your hosts file so that INLN50899724A points to 127.0.0.1
For using rabbit mq on windows 10 for similar error I did below
set RABBITMQ_NODENAME=rabbit#localhost
in the path where rabbit MQ is installed i.e for me it was in C:\Program Files\RabbitMQ Server\rabbitmq_server-3.8.5\sbin>
and then started
.\rabbitmq-server start
Also, I had changed the host to point to my computer name in c:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc
127.0.0.1 yourhostnamehere

virsh console hangs whenever I connect to Virtual Machine

Whenever I try to connect to VM using virsh console <vm name> my screen hangs and displays:
Connected to domain <vm name>
Escape character is ^]
I have found many solutions on the internet but nothing has worked for me and I am even not able to find the /etc/init directory as CentOS 7 has a different directory structure.
I need /etc/init directory to create a script which I found on the internet as a solution.
I am using only ssh connection and no GUI and I do not have any access to the physical machine.
I think you should start a console (e.g. ttyS0 ).
For example on my Debian 8 I enable it with systemd:
systemctl enable getty#tty1.service
Enable Serial Console on CentOS/RHEL 7
On the virtual machine, add ‘console=ttyS0‘ at the end of the kernel lines in the /boot/grub2/grub.cfg file:
grubby --update-kernel=ALL --args="console=ttyS0"
Note: Alternatively, you can edit the /etc/default/grub file, add console=ttyS0 to the GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX variable and execute
grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg

I had the same issue right after virt-install, then after trying to connect to the guest, too. I tried all the suggested solutions but none of them helped. Then I realized that I forgot to install KVM. A simple 'yum -y install kvm' resolved the issue.

ERROR installing apache archiva on my sytem

Can anyone help regarding this... i'm stuck :(
Goto the folder apache-archiva-1.3.3 and the following:
.\bin\archiva.bat install
As khmarbaise says above, you probably need to log in with administrative rights.
Another alternative is to run:
archiva console
This will start it within that console - however you'll then need to keep it open and restart manually after a reboot, where a service can run in the background and start automatically.
