I am facing problem when I try to install PyQt(according to the following link https://www.metachris.com/2016/03/how-to-install-qt56-pyqt5-virtualenv-python3/).
I am able to install everything but got stuck for PyQt installation.For installation it showed me an error that I have to make a private copy of my sip module for the installation . I followed this link(Installing PyQt5 from sources: Unable to import PyQt5.sip) to make a private copy but got stuck with this error
python3 configure.py --sip-module private.sip
python3 configure.py -q /usr/bin/qmake-qt5 -n private.sip
It shows an error
configure.py: error: no such option: -q
Please suggest something.

I'm having trouble running this line of code in Deepnote, does anyone know why?
data = ImageDataBunch.from_folder(path, train="train", valid ="test",ds_tfms=get_transforms(), size=(256,256), bs=32, num_workers=4).normalize()
The error says:
NameError: name 'ImageDataBunch' is not defined
And previously, I have imported the Fastai library. So I don't get it!
The FastAI setup in Deepnote is not that straightforward. It's best to use a custom environment where you set stuff up in a Dockerfile and everything works afterwards in the notebook. I am not sure if the ImageDataBunch or whatever you're trying to do works the same way in FastAI v1 and v2, but here are the details for v1.
This is a Dockerfile which sets up the FastAI environment via conda:
# This is Dockerfile
FROM deepnote/python:3.9
RUN wget https://repo.anaconda.com/miniconda/Miniconda3-latest-Linux-x86_64.sh -O ~/miniconda.sh
RUN bash ~/miniconda.sh -b -p $HOME/miniconda
ENV PATH $HOME/miniconda/bin:$PATH
ENV PYTONPATH $HOME/miniconda
RUN $HOME/miniconda/bin/conda install python=3.9 ipykernel -y
RUN $HOME/miniconda/bin/conda install -c fastai -c pytorch fastai -y
RUN $HOME/miniconda/bin/python -m ipykernel install --user --name=conda
ENV DEFAULT_KERNEL_NAME "conda"
After that, you can test the fastai imports in the notebook:
import fastai
from fastai.vision import *
print(fastai.__version__)
ImageDataBunch
And if you download and unpack this sample MNIST dataset, you should be able to load the data like you suggested:
data = ImageDataBunch.from_folder(path, train="train", valid ="test",ds_tfms=get_transforms(), size=(256,256), bs=32, num_workers=4).normalize()
Feel free to check out or clone my Deepnote project to continue working on this.
I'm trying to install this package ncurses5-compat-libs but I can because of the following problem.
What I did:
1. yay ncurses5-compat-libs
There are 2 types of errors:
Either I will check 'Y' and I will add the key, so in this case, I will receive the error message as follow
gpg: keyserver receive failed: Permission denied
==> Error: Problem importing keys
Or I will check as 'n' to don't add the key and I will receive
==> Verifying source file signatures with gpg...
ncurses-6.1.tar.gz ... FAILED (unknown public key 702353E0F7E48EDB)
==> ERROR: One or more PGP signatures could not be verified!
Error downloading sources: ncurses5-compat-libs
2. sudo gpg --recv-keys C52048C0C0748FEE227D47A2702353E0F7E48EDB
I've tried to add it manually but it didn't work.
3. sudo gpg --recv-keys 702353E0F7E48EDB
Also this one I've tried to add it manually but it didn't work
4. yay -S --noconfirm --needed ncurses5-compat-libs
5. Trying to fallow this forum
and least but not last
6. I've tried to clone the repository by hand by following
git clone http://aur.archlinux.org/ncurses5-compat-libs.git
cd ncurses5-compat-libs
sudo gpg --recv-keys C52048C0C0748FEE227D47A2702353E0F7E48EDB
makepkg -sic
cd ..
sudo rm -r ncurses5-compat-libs
And guess what, I'm back from where I started...
==> Verifying source file signatures with gpg...
ncurses-6.1.tar.gz ... FAILED (unknown public key 702353E0F7E48EDB)
==> ERROR: One or more PGP signatures could not be verified!
Error downloading sources: ncurses5-compat-libs
Dose any of you guys have any idea how can I fix this problem? If so let me know because I'm getting crazy already not been able to fix this.
You shouldn't need specifically ncurses5-compat-libs if you have a higher version of ncurses. Because version 6 is backwards compatible with version 5. You need to check whether you have libtinfo.so.6 or not. If you have it then you just need to create a system link. Check if you have libtinfo.so.6, so Run:
ls /lib/ | grep libtinfo
if you can't see libtinfo.so.6, you need to install ncurses (the current latest version of it: 6.2) and then create a system link that I mentioned below. so run:
sudo pacman -S ncurses
sudo pacman -S lib32-ncurses
if you have libtinfo.so.6 then run:
sudo link /lib/libtinfo.so.6 /lib/libtinfo.so.5
I went a step further from creating the link in the other answer here:
sudo link /lib/libtinfo.so.6 /lib/libtinfo.so.5
And created a dummy package so I could build something that depended on that being a thing:
$ cat /opt/aur/ncurses5-compat-libs-dummy/PKGBUILD
pkgname='ncurses5-compat-libs'
pkgver=6.1
pkgrel=1
arch=(any)
provides=('libtinfo5')
$ cd /opt/aur/ncurses5-compat-libs/dummy
$ makepkg -si
worked like a charm
I'm trying to use neovim with deoplete on ArchLinux. Both requires Python support.
I've installed neovim plugin and python-neovim, python2-neovim extra plugins with pacman to use python.
This is my extra simple neovim configs:
call plug#begin('~/.vim/plugged')
if has('nvim')
Plug 'Shougo/deoplete.nvim', { 'do': ':UpdateRemotePlugins' }
else
Plug 'Shougo/deoplete.nvim'
Plug 'roxma/nvim-yarp'
Plug 'roxma/vim-hug-neovim-rpc'
endif
let g:deoplete#enable_at_startup = 1
" Initialize plugin system
call plug#end()
But deoplete autocompletion doesn't work for me.
I've run :checkhealth and this is the result:
health#deoplete#check
========================================================================
## deoplete.nvim
- OK: exists("v:t_list") was successful
- OK: has("timers") was successful
- OK: has("python3") was successful
- OK: Python3.5+ was successful
- INFO: If you're still having problems, try the following commands:
$ export NVIM_PYTHON_LOG_FILE=/tmp/log
$ export NVIM_PYTHON_LOG_LEVEL=DEBUG
$ nvim
$ cat /tmp/log_{PID}
and then create an issue on github
Could someone explaine me what I'm doing wrong?
Fairly sure you need neovim-python or python-pynvim which is a community repo in the AUR.
After that just run pip3 install --user --upgrade pynvim and you ought to be settled.
edit: just noticed that the answer was suggested in the comments below, and that it is confirmed to be working. Nice!
I'am trying to create a package for iOS with kivy.:https://kivy.org/docs/guide/packaging-ios.html
I try to run: ./toolchain.py build kivy in terminal on mac.
Error: sudo: unable to execute ./toolchain.py: Permission denied.
My python is setup in anaconda and is running correctly.
In the first line of ./toolchain.py is: #!/anaconda/envs/python2/bin python2.7
Anyone knows how to change the permissions/how to get it to work?
When I set python to default: /usr/bin/env and adjust first line of ./toolchain.py it does execute, but in default python I'am not able to install pip.
Ensure ./toolchain.py got execution bit set (chmod a+x toolchain.py)
I am trying to install MySQLDB adaptor in zope. I have a mac book pro with snow leopard. I have downloaded the "MySQL-python-1.2.0.
from: http://old.zope.org/Members/adustman/Products/MySQLdb/
I extracted the file in /usr/local/zope/lib/python/products
and then I changed directory to it:
cd MySQL-python-1.2.0
And I typed:
sudo /Users/dkar/Desktop/zope/bin/python setup.py build
sudo /User/dkar/Desktop/zope/bin/python setup.py install
I get this error:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "setup.py", line 34, in ?
mysqlstatic = eval(os.getenv('mysqlstatic', 'False'))
File "<string>", line 0, in ?
NameError: name 'False' is not defined
I see the lines 0 and 34 in the setup.py but I don't know what should I do. Any suggestions what to do? I am new in these things and I don't have any idea how to solve this issue.
Please let me know if you don't understand some part and I will try to explain it better!
Environment that was used:

Step by step...
Install Plone
Install MySQL, in this exemple I install using apt-get install mysql-server
Install another dependecies apt-get install libmysqlclient-dev
Edit base.cfg or buildout.cfg in eggs add:
eggs =
MySQL_python
In buildout.cfg at the bottom add:
[zmysqlda]
recipe = collective.recipe.zmysqlda
target = ${buildout:directory}/products
run buildout bin/buildout -v
edit DABase.py at the line 92 and the file DA.py line 96
Where have: from ImageFile import ImageFile
Change to: from App.ImageFile import ImageFile
create a folder that the script request:
mkdir -p /{buildout_folder}/buildout-cache/eggs/Zope2-2.13.12-py2.6.egg/Shared/DC/ZRDB/www
Put the icon that don't exist in the folder
wget http://old.zope.org/Documentation/Guides/ZSQL-HTML/DBAdapterFolder_icon.gif

In zope interface management add Z MySQL database connection
Enter Database conection string:
I hope help yoU!
I extract this cookbook from my post here: http://julianoaraujo.objectis.net/blog/pzp/400320287, it's in Brazilian Portuguese.
I don't know what causes the strange error you get so I'm not sure if my answer will help you. I also had trouble installing mySQLdb. I found out that mysql has to be installed on your system, even if you do not intend to use it with mySQLdb (maybe you just want to use it with a remote connection).
Before building and installing, you have to edit site.cfg and set the path to your mysql_config (which on my mac is: /usr/local/mysql/bin/mysql_config). Then make a symlink, so that your mysql client will be found:
sudo ln -s /usr/local/mysql/lib/libmysqlclient.18.dylib /usr/lib/libmysqlclient.18.dylib
Hope that helps :)
