Using NuGet Package Manager, I get this error message:
Could not install package 'Microsoft.Toolkit.Uwp.UI.Controls 3.0.0'.
You are trying to install this package into a project that targets 'native,Version=v0.0',
but the package does not contain any assembly references or content files that are compatible with that framework.

Unable to update NuGet package

Working with VS2015 I recently updated an add-on I use, ActiveReports, to a new version. Previously I had my application set for netframework 4.0, the new update for ActiveReports required at least netframework 4.5 so I changed the project to use that version.
I am getting the following error now when I build the project:
"Some NuGet packages were installed using a target framework different from the current target framework and may need to be reinstalled. Visit http://docs.nuget.org/docs/workflows/reinstalling-packages for more information. Packages affected: Microsoft.Bcl, Microsoft.Net.Http"
I have been looking at the various options suggested to address this none have worked. The last one I tried from Tools> NuGet Package Manager > Package Manager Console resulted in the following message:
PM> Update-Package
Attempting to gather dependency information for multiple packages with respect to project 'My Project', targeting '.NETFramework,Version=v4.5'
Attempting to resolve dependencies for multiple packages.
Resolving actions install multiple packages
Resolution was successful but resulted in no action
There are no new updates available.
No package updates are available from the current package source for project 'My Project'
I can reproduce this by:
creating a new project as .NET 3.5, installing NuGet package Newtonsoft.Json" (just for example).
Changing my project to .NET 4.5
Then I receive an error:
Severity Code Description Project File Line Suppression State
Error Some NuGet packages were installed using a target framework different from the current target framework and may need to be reinstalled. Visit http://docs.nuget.org/docs/workflows/reinstalling-packages for more information. Packages affected: Newtonsoft.Json ConsoleApp7 0
To resolve:
Uninstall the existing NuGet packages (for that project), and reinstall them:
How:
Right-click your Solution:
Choose "Manage NuGet Packages for Solution..."
Navigate to the "Project" you changed to .NET 4.5
Choose "Uninstall", then try to reinstall them, using the same steps.
After re-installation of the package is complete, the build error is gone.

Adding Microsoft 365 package to Xamarin Studio

I'm trying to add 'Microsoft Office 365 Mail, Calendar and Contact Library' package to a project on Xamarin Studio for OSx and get the error :
Adding Microsoft.Office365.OutlookServices...
Attempting to resolve dependency 'Microsoft.OData.Client (≥ 6.8.1)'.
Attempting to resolve dependency 'Microsoft.OData.Core (= 6.9.0)'.
Attempting to resolve dependency 'Microsoft.Spatial (= 6.9.0)'.
Attempting to resolve dependency 'Microsoft.OData.Edm (= 6.9.0)'.
Downloading Microsoft.Office365.OutlookServices 1.0.22...
Object reference not set to an instance of an object
All of the dependencies listed above are installed and other Microsoft packages such as 'Microsoft Authentication Library' were installed successfully.
Any solutions would be helpful. Thanks.
It seems to be a problem with Mono failing to resolve the portable library folder which is using %2B instead of +
portable-net40%2Bsl5%2Bwp8%2Bwin8%2BMonoAndroid10%2BMonoTouch10%2BWindowsPhoneApp81
The NuGet package works fine with Xamarin Studio on Windows.
There is a similar problem with Mono.Data.Sqlite.Portable 1.0.33 where it was using %2BXamarinMac which seemed to be incorrectly being resolved to a part in the zip file. To fix the Mono.Data.Sqlite.Portable NuGet package the Xamarin frameworks were removed from the portable library folder inside the NuGet package and that fixed the problem. I suspect it could be fixed by changing the %2B to + in the NuGet package.
I think you can use the Microsoft Graph.

windows 8 store app - dependency issue - certification failed

We just submitted app in windows 8 store (metro style app) and got the error:
XXX takes a dependency on Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Package framework but is missing the framework dependency declaration in the manifest.
We had our app working fine in release version but it was not getting accepted as package so we needed to migrate our app as Windows RTM. During that we had following entry
in manifest:
<Dependencies>
<PackageDependency Name="Microsoft.VCLibs.110" MinVersion="11.0.0.0" />
</Dependencies>
If we keep this, we get following error while build the app.
Error : DEP0700 : Registration of the app failed. Windows cannot install package 5d6f272d-c915-4de1-a9d6-c0c08d63ab94 because
this package depends on another package that could not be found. This package requires minimum version 11.0.50727.1 of framework Microsoft.VCLibs.110
published by any publisher to install. Provide the framework along with this package. (0x80073cf3) Test_App1
So we removed it and submit the app, it just got failed and gave following error.
XXXX takes a dependency on Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Package framework but is missing the framework dependency declaration in the manifest.
We need to keep this package itself in the manifest but not getting it done.
I had similar problem.
Add a reference in your project to Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Package
Just click on project i select Add reference and find this Package. Adding this should resolve your problem
The issue got resolved by updating
"Microsoft.VCLibs.110" to Name="Microsoft.VCLibs.110.00"
Just I've repaired the VS 2012 for windows 8 from Control panel > Programs and the designer works fine.

entity framework 5 install on win8 MSVC2012 RTM

I have recently installed the Latest Win8 OS (RTM) and installed MSVC 2012 RTM as well (I also have MSVC 2010 installed as I am porting from Win7 Phone to Win 8 Tablet and need to refer to the old code (not sure if this may affect outcome)). I need to install Entity Framework in MSVC 2012 and when I look at the NuGet Package Manager it tells me version 5.0.0. is available. However it never installs correctly, it says it has installed successfully then, says it can't and uninstalls it. I have tried using the NuGet Package Manager and the PM console, the results from the PM console are below :
PM> Install-Package EntityFramework

What is going wrong? pls help.

You are adding EntityFramework package to Windows 8 Application or class library project (= to Metro application). That is not supported. You must use full .NET Framework 4.5 (= desktop application, web application, etc.) to use Entity Framework.
I had this problem. This is what I did:
From the package manager console:
PM> Uninstall-Package EntityFramework -Force
This threw an error. I then went to the "packages" folder under the solution folder and removed the Entity Framework subfolder. I then ran
PM> Install-Package EntityFramework
And then right-clicked my project where I wanted to install EF and installed it from the NuGet dialog.
