I am trying to laser cut multiple signs, and I need to combine PDFs into a single PDF for import into AutoCAD. The signs are all the same shape, but I need to populate the different text/image for each in the frame.
I have experience with python, and I am open to learning a new tool/software to get this done in the easiest manner possible. I would love any guidance or advice on this project.
Here is a very basic picture of how I would like the final PDF to be.
The PDF toolkit (pdftk) can merge PDFs and change pagination and/or put multiple pages onto a single page.

I'm trying to create a quick action workflow on Mac to turn a selection of multiple images into as much separate PDFs (one PDF per image). I also need to retain the filenames of each file.
I'd be glad to get any help I can on this. :)
Thanks !
I am using jsPDF to build my PDFs in my Quasar/Electron app. I have PDFs that I need to use as the base for the output, and I would love to be able to use that instead of building the whole PDF line by line. Does anyone know if this is possible?
This is an example of the PDF I need to use:
Score Sheet
I need to fill in the various details such as Call Name, Breed, etc. I'm not sure if it's possible to specify the exact position of the data while using the pre-made PDF.
Thanks for help!
I found there is a lot of tools available for breaking the Big PDF files into smaller one by splitting the original PDF file PAGE WISE.for example, if i have a 10 page PDF Document, then we can able to break the original pdf file into 10 pieces in page wise splitting.
But i want similar kind of tool that breaks the PDF file smaller than the Page wise splitting. That means,i need to split the PDF page into different documents based on any parameter like paragraph,section,element...
for example,
If my PDF file having 2 pages with 10 paragraphs then i would like to split the pdf file into 10 separate Pdf file based on paragraph parameter...
Also, I strongly believe pdf does not contain any structure like Open XML.But i also Suspecting
How the tools can able to break the pdf files in to small pdf files by splitting page wise? What kind of mechanism they are using for page wise splitting PDF File?
So, Is there any way to do my work? Please give me your valuable suggestion on this?
PDF is a vector based document description language. It's page based so in a way every page is independent from the next one. Splitting page wise is therefore pretty easy. Contrary to a raster image where you can extract small subsets independently in a pdf you have to render the whole page to know how a small subset looks like.
Say you have a Page (black) which contains a complex shaped object (here it is a line but it could be any text, shape, image, etc.) and you want to extract a subset (red). You would have to first find all the objects that produce visible output in the region of interest. Then you would have to modify them so they are rendered correctly (in this case calculate the green points from the blue points while preserving the shape of the object).
An easier approach would be to include the whole page and clip the viewing area to the dimensions of the region.
You could do this with pdfjam. Check the --trim/--offset/--delta command in conjunction with a custom paper size (Example 6,7 on the pdfjam website). You would still have to somehow calculate the coordinates of the region of interest though.
I have a lengthy PDF time tracking document that was printed out and used in a paper process to schedule appointments. Now this paper process is being converted to an online application and this application needs to generate reports in the same format as the PDF document (this time programatically inserting values into rows instead of having someone write them on the piece of paper).
My question is this, is possible to somehow import the layout of that PDF document into Telerik reporter's designer? Otherwise, is there some sort of an intermediary tool that I can use to make the layout more exportable?
Just to clarify, I am not trying to save my reports as PDF but trying to use a given PDF's layout to create a similar looking report in Telerik.
Any tips would be very welcome.
Thank you very much!
There are numerous tools for extracting text or images from pdf files, but I am pretty sure nothing exists to extract the layout of a pdf. The pdf format is just text and symbols with coordinates. There is no layout to extract.
I need to programmatically embed an existing PDF (a small graphic) onto a specfic page on an existing PDF. Using iTextSharp I've been able to add a new page containing this embedded PDF, but what need is to modify an existing page by adding this graphic. Is this possible using iTextSharp or any other PDF-generation libarary?
I tend to do this sort of thing using Context, which is a Tex-based layout tool that in integrated into the pdftex Tex/Metapost engine. There's a learning curve involved, and installing Context isn't entirely trivial, but it makes very general programmatic document processing involving PDFs easy once you get the hang of it.
For this problem, you'd define two overlays, with the first overlay being the main PDF that you set to a background, and then on the page you want to change, defining a foreground overlay with a \setlayer command, which contains a single \framed box, which superimposes the second PDF using a \externalfigure command.
The nice thing about Context for this kind of task is that it works with PDF as its internal representation all the way through, so there is no unexpected blow up in file size or deterioration in image quality, which you can get with other tools that convert between formats.
