How would a slideable list control like this be achieved with React Native? - react-native

The Yelp app for iOS is designed such that after you enter and send a search query, something like this comes up:
The screen consists of a map control in the background, with a screen on top displaying a list view that you can swipe up/down depending on whether you want to see the list/map (respectively).
How would something like this be accomplished using React Native? For example, would the React Navigation or React Native Swiper libraries help me superimpose a list view on top of the map control?

You can use PanResponder.

Is there a way to have a screen with snap points(presentation: "modal") in react native navigation?

I want to have a scrollable (with snap points) react native navigation stack screen(presentation: "modal") in my app. I don't want anything like "react-native-modal" library or official Modal from react native library. I want an actual screen with modal behaviour and I can achieve that with presentation: "modal" property but I want it to have snap points. Perfect example would be the iOS fitness app.
So this is the screen when you initially press upload button. As you can see it takes maybe 40% - 50% height of the screen
If you scroll down height expands and it acts as ordinary screen with presentation: "modal"
And lastly if you scroll back up it springs back to its original position and it acts as a modal(no gap at the top of the screen as in second image)
That is the behaviour I am looking for.
If it is possible I would like to get similar behaviour on android as well.
I tried to implement that behaviour with "react-native-modal" and official Modal from "react-native" components but I want to have it as a separate screen. I also want it to feel "native like" and with these stuff it doesn't feel that way.
You may try this library react-native-simple-bottom-sheet

How can you make a movable frame over the content with React Native, while making it possible to click the content around it?

I'm looking for a solution, if possible a library or a custom component, for React Native, without Expo.
I need to create a video frame that is movable in the screen, up and down, and cover the content. I also need to make it possible to click on the content behind it.
Another difficulty is that I need it to stay up on all screens during navigation.
I first tried to use reanimated-bottom-sheet with some increments, but the content behind the bottom is not clickable. Also, to make it available on all screens I needed to put in at the same level as React Navigation's BottomTabNavigator and it covers the tab bar too even with a zIndex.
I also tried to use modals, but I'm relatively new to React Native and couldn't find how to make the background touchable as well as making it movable.
I guess I need to make a view with absolute positionning and learn Reanimated, unless you have a simpler idea?
Thanks

Bottom sheet over map content, similar to google maps UI, in React Native

I am trying to implement a UI layout similar to google maps "explore" on Android, (see gif) in React Native.
In my UI design I have app navigation tabs at the bottom of the screen, with a full page map background, overlaid with a "bottom sheet" coming from above the tabs, and a search box component at the top. See UI sketch below.
I have found various react-native ui components which look useful, but I can't figure out the styling to arrange them in the layout I want.
Several of the bottomsheet components I'm looking at, for example, rn-bottom-drawer show gifs similar to what I'm trying to create, e.g this animation, but I can't find an actual code example of how that UI was created. For example, the same library example just shows the bottom drawer over an empty screen.
What combination of wrapping elements and styles would allow me to create the layout described? I come from a XAML background and this kind of layout is very easy to create, but I can't get my head around how to do it in react native.
It is halfway possible with the component "react-native-swipe-up-down".
The swipe up above the App works, but it is really buggy. Had the same problem as you and couldn't find anything better than swipe-up-down til today.

Realizing Facebook friends request like slider

I am developing my first React Native + Redux app. In my app I want to develop something similar to the friends requests slider of facebook:
There is a slider (left/right) where you can see the current content in a box and a little bit of the next and preview item. When swiping up or tap the content should be come to "full screen". Swiping left or right is disabled in full screen.
Only the current and maybe the two next and the two previous slides should be loaded but I think thanks to redux this is not a big deal.
Which components should I use for this?
A simple way to approach this might be to use a library like react-native-swiper for the swiping component and then use LayoutAnimation to animate the subview into the full screen view, taking care to remove the name in the header/etc.

How to access UINavigationController in react native?

I have created a View where the NavigationBar comes from Obj-c(Native code) and the rest of the view comes from React Native.
Now in the react native view, i have a link which should show the content in a new screen with the navigation experience. I am able to show the content but unable to find a way to change navBar title and show back button on the navBar.
Can you please let me know how we can get access to NavigationBar(Obj-c) in ReactNative?
I don't believe React Native supports this. You cannot take an object created in one language and access it in another. It would be a better idea to create your navigation bar in your JS and use it throughout your app. That even allows you to propagate that UI to your android apps.
