When i've restarted my computer, i've tried to open Intellij and i've got this error message :
failed to create jvm error code -1
i've added "IDEA_JDK_64" and still have the issue, i can't start intellij, can someone Help Please
(NB : it's working with Eclipse actually )
I've searched and I've found this. Try to define JDK_HOME:
Setting JAVA_HOME for intelliJ?
May you set the -XX:ReservedCodeCacheSize property more than 2048m. Is this property higher than 2048m you get your error message.

Please help me I am stuck due to below weird behavior of Intellij 2021.2.4(Ultimate Edition)
I am getting error after opening project in Intellij as below :
"Accessing invalid virtual file: file://; original:12323; found:12333; File.exists()=true.
I restarted my machine on weekend and then opened the Intellij Idea today morning .
I have tried below solutions but in vain
1.Invalid Caches
2.Remove idea64.exe.vmoptions
Thanks in advance .
I had this same issue just now. For me, I was running our app via JavaScript Debug task and the app would immediately fail; I'd get the error message in a "red balloon" above my Debug tool window tab.
Following the advice of #Andrey I checked the logs. Sure enough, there was a hint:
com.intellij.openapi.vfs.InvalidVirtualFileAccessException: Accessing invalid virtual file: file:///Users/randy/projects/..../.../notifications; original:804838; found:805846; File.exists()=true

IntelliJ was trying to register breakpoints when it crashed. From there, I simply opened the Breakpoints dialog and trashed everything since they were all recent and moot anyway.
After that, I just closed the debug browser window that was left from my last failed attempt, then reran the Debug config. Everything worked as expected.
I'm trying to build my project but I can't.
I get this error:
Error:Cannot run program "C:\tools\jdk8.0.191\bin\java.exe" (in directory "C:\Users\"my user"\AppData\Local\JetBrains\IntelliJIdea2020.1\compile-server"): Malformed argument has embedded quote: -Djava.endorsed.dirs=\"\"
Do anyone know what to do about this? Iøm trying to build in IntelliJ 2020.1
Best Regards
It might be related to more strict command-line processing in JDK on Windows after JDK-8221858 (private) security patch see this comment for details.
Try following workaround: Help -> Edit Custom VM Options action and add the following line at the bottom of the file: -Djdk.lang.Process.allowAmbiguousCommands=true and restart IDE.
I have downloaded the choregraphe 2.8.5 for Nao. I got same error whenever i try to run my code.
I have reinstalled the software but the problem has not resolved.
This is the error I got.

Can anyone tell me how to resolve this?
I am getting the following error every time I try to cucumber test using the cucumber plugin in Intellij Idea. I am using the following version deaIC-2017.3.5. I even tried installing the latest version - ideaIC-2018.2.4 - but the issue still persists. Anybody has any idea why this could be happening?

In the "Run/Debug Configuration", update "Program arguments" replacing --plugin org.jetbrains.plugins.cucumber.java.run.CucumberJvm2SMFormatter by --plugin org.jetbrains.plugins.cucumber.java.run.CucumberJvmSMFormatter
Let me illustrate how I encountered and found a way about to solve this problem.
I used to run my feature file by right clicking and run in intelliJ. Then I modified the program arguments in the edit configuration for that Run XYZ.feature file configuration.
In that process, I deleted the argument that passed " org.jetbrains.plugins.cucumber.java.run.CucumberJvm4SMFormatter" and added "--thread 5" something like that.
And then when I was done with wanted to revert to the old config. It wouldn't run and throw this error. My hunch is that maybe the arguments are not being passed properly?.
Anyway the solution (kinda hack) is to choose another feature file ABC.feature and edit the configuration for Run ABC.feature and change the location path of the feature file to XYZ.feature and change nothing else. Maybe could rename the configuration to Run XYZ2.feature something like that. This works for me.
This has worked for me: (intelliJ)
In the Program Arguments I have kept below line and it worked for me.
--plugin org.jetbrains.plugins.cucumber.java.run.CucumberJvmSMFormatter --monochrome --name "^Login with valid credentials$"
I change my jdk a few days ago, today I changed it back. then I find my IDEA can run but can't debug. Here are Console info:
D:\Java\64位JDK\bin\java -agentlib:jdwp=transport=dt_socket,address=127.0.0.1:59301,suspend=y
FATAL ERROR in native method: JDWP No transports initialized, jvmtiError= AGENT_ERROR_TRANSPORT_LOAD(196)
ERROR: transport library not found: dt_socket
ERROR: JDWP Transport dt_socket failed to initialize, TRANSPORT_LOAD(509)
JDWP exit error AGENT_ERROR_TRANSPORT_LOAD(196): No transports initialized [debugInit.c:750]
I guess the first line is command that IDEA used, but I find dt_spcket.dll in D:\Java\64位JDK\jre\bin (64位JDK means 64-bit ) not \Java\64位JDK\bin . I don't know am I right and how to correct the path or solve the problem?
I have solved the problem with #CrazyCoder 's help , out-of-ascii path isn't the reason. When I delete the system environment variable , i find "java" command is legal in cmd, so i think there is an other java environment in my computer. Use java -verbose i find the location and delete it then problem have solved. So if you meet the same problem, check the environment first.if not work , try to reinstall the jdk :)
I found out that the problem was the diffents Java versions in the App configuration1 and the project structure2, I solved the problem by simply changing to be same.
