Let's say I want to create a contact form. In this contact form, a user can have multiple addresses. I would think that this is a perfect opportunity to use a Vue Component so that I don't have to create redundant address form fields. I would then be able to use this component in different areas of a website, say on edit, create, etc....
How would I go about creating a form component that a parent can use and have values from that form get added to an addresses array? Also, I would like to be able to populate this form with existing values if it's being edited.
I've tried different things but nothing I've tried seems to work. Any ideas? I've searched Stack and Google but haven't been able to find an answer.
Here is some starting code of what I'm trying to accomplish (crude example). Of course, I would allow a user to dynamically add multiple addresses on creation/edit but I would also on edit of the form loop through the addresses data to display each address component but this is just a quick non-working setup to get my point across.

So the problem I'm facing is that I have a template that fetches data from a Realtime Firebase Database and at the same time the user can import more data through an input element. I'm using Vue.js and I need the data to be bound to each other.

Now what is happening is that I want to show <div class="first"> when there is no comment and when there is one, <div class="second"> should be shown while hiding the first one.
I tried using v-if="comment[key]" but it will toggle the divs straight away.
I also tried to v-model.lazy which seems to be working but then the method to update the db is not called.
I tried using pure JS in the method to change the HTML but it doesn't seem to be working as well.

I think you should build more on the (arguably) biggest features of Vue, namely: reactivity & components.
Break down the logic a bit more, until you arrive at elements that do only one thing - those elements can be your components. Then build up the business logic from those atomic components.

OK, the comment handling in SingleEmailRow could be put to its separate component (based on my thoughts above).
The main points in the snippet above are:
there's only one original data source (emailList in the root component) that is passed down as props where needed, and all the other components & functions just manipulate THAT list via events (reactivity is great!)
because all the components are based on one central data source, they just have to work with the item they get as props. (Ok, they have some internal state, but hey - this is only a snippet! :) )
the two components have only one responsibility:
NewEmail: to add an item to the central emailList
SingleEmailRow: to manage the data in ONE email item
I hope this helps you a bit to reach a solution for your problem.

What's the problem
I wanted to assign a local component variable to prop. I constantly get Vue alert Invalid watch handler specified by key "undefined". Maybe the case is that the prop is passed from another component, where I use v-model, but I don't really know. How do I pass data from one component to another when using Vue router?
I'm building a simple CRUD app that have different components.
My conponents are:
App.vue - where I render the router-view
Contacts.vue - where I have the array of objects of contacts
ContactItem.vue - handle how the contact is displayed (gets contact as a prop from contact.vue
AddContact.vue - add new contact
EditContact.vue - edit selected contact
On the AddContact component, I have a form the user fills and then clicks on the submit button to add the form to the main component in Contacts.vue but when I emit an event and call it on the Contacts.vue component, it doesn't work. I get no output but from devtools I can see the event was triggered from AddContact.vue component.

Well there are more ways to send data from component to component:
You could create a new Vue instance in your main.js file and call it eventBus
export const eventBus = new Vue();
After that you can import this bus wherever you need it:
import { eventBus } from "main.js"
Then you can send events over this global bus:
eventBus.$emit("add-contact", newContact);
At the other component you need to import this bus again and listen to this event in your "created" lifecycle:

The other way is to store it centralized in vuex state. With "created" you can call this data. Created gets executed after your vue instance is created
Hi I'm trying to send data from one component to another but not sure how to approach it.

Is there a way to pass in the key of name? The entry gets added but doesn't display because im looping and outputting {{ entry.name }}
That's happening probably because when you pass "complex objects" through parameters, the embed objects/collections are being seen as observable objects, even if you sync the properties, when the component is mounted, only loads first level data, in your case, the objects inside the array, this is performance friendly but sometimes a bit annoying, you have two options, the first one is to declare a computed property which returns the property passed from the parent controller, or secondly (dirty and ugly but works) is to JSON.stringify the collection passed and then JSON.parse to convert it back to an object without the observable properties.
