I am having problem with chimp.js configuration. When I run tests the browser is not using provided host / post. I tried many things but without success. Does anyone know how to set up it properly? Please find my config in screenshot provided.
When the browser first starts, it defaults to data;. You need to navigate somewhere first.
The host and port settings are not related to browsing. They tell Chimp where the Selenium server is, which by default is chromedriver.
I had to setup beforeFeature hook to start using localhost:3000

Using Intelliji for Java, I'm trying to get cucumber plugin, so i go to the file dropdown menu and go to settings menu and go to plugins. I type in cucumber in the plugins search bar. But nothing is found in the search results.
The message given is " search results are not loaded check the internet connection "
I also get " marketplace plugins are not loaded. Check the internet connection and >refresh< "
My internet connection is fine. I've already downloaded a load of dependancies using maven via intellij. the refresh button doesn't help. Why does intellij think the problem is no internet connection? How do I get intellij to find plugins?
I needed to set up a proxy under Appearance & Behavior Settings, System Settings, HTTP Proxy. I selected auto detect proxy settings. After this I was able to see plugins in the marketplace window.
For me I was able to get the marketplace working when I went to
Configure>Settings>HTTP Proxy Settings> Auto-detect proxy settings>Automatic Proxy configuration URL: https://plugins.jetbrains.com
Actually it seems to be working even without the Automatic Proxy configuration URL disabled

As mentioned in one of the comments on this link, I made the following changes:
Enabled Auto-detect proxy settings under Appearance & Behavior > System Settings > HTTP Proxy.
Removed the below flag under the Help > Custom VM Options.
-Djsse.enableSNIExtension=false
Restarted Intellij after making these changes. Made these changes on Intellij Ultimate 2019.3.3

I felt my IP was blocking the plugins, I enabled the VPN and it worked!
for some version IntelliJ looks for plugins using HTTP protocol instead of
HTTPS, so add the following lines
IntelliJ bin folder-> idea.properties,
idea.plugins.host=https://plugins.jetbrains.com
try disabling the SNIExtension, Help->Edit Custom VM options
Djsse.enableSNIExtension=false
Such questions we should refer to the log of IDEA at first.
visit the menu Help ~> Show Log in Exporer, will open the directory of log,
For me,the log file is C:\Users\lawev\AppData\Local\JetBrains\IntelliJIdea2020.1\log\idea.log.

Starting IntelliJ (2019.2.1) on Windows 10 64-bit in Admin mode fixed this for me.
in my case, my goland settings somehow get corrputs, i delete the folder ~/.GoLand2019.2, and restart goland, then the marketplace works.
in my case, it happen because your internet service provider/ISP block https://plugins.jetbrains.com. There is 2 ways i solve it:
Before i use Sm'rtfren SIM Card Phone(from my country) provider which is can not load marketplace plugin. Then i switch to Tr'e SIM Card Phone provider and it works!
You can use UrbanVPN Desktop software, i use windows version. it will change ISP IP and then it works!
I encounter the similar problem in Android Studio when I want to install the Flutter& Dart plugins .
For me,I install Shadowsocks vpn proxy(https://github.com/shadowsocks/shadowsocks) in my computer.Then I change the Shadowsocks vpn proxy to global mode. After this I was able to see plugins in the marketplace window.Hope it can help you
I am using browserstack to test some devices, like IE. However I need to set up local testing so I can test my site localhost:3000
I have logged in to browserstack in Chrome and installed the extension. I click on the extension IE11 link. It takes me to a IE11 on Windows 8 virtual machine.
I type localhost:3000 into IE but it doesn't seem to work.
Then I click the Settings cog and click resolve all URLs through my network.
Still it doesn't seem to work for me.
Looks like the setup was fine in Browserstack, I just forgot that in IE11 I need to use http://localhost:3000 as it doesn't automatically resolve the protocol http silly mistake :)
I've done a lot of research and haven't found a definitive answer to this. Is there anyway to test the open graph on localhost? I don't haven any issues using the graph api on locahost.
I've changed my website url in the app settings and have even tried setting up a domain in my hosts file but the debugger linter for open graph tries to use the actual domain instead of my localhost and when using locahost directly the linter completely fails connecting.
Does anybody have any workarounds for this?
Using a local proxy is the right solution. ngrok didn't work for me neither.
A similar tool that did work with facebook debugger is localtunnel ✅

Generates a url that looks something like https://<random_hash>.localtunnel.me/. Using this url in facebook open graph debugger worked for me as of October 18th 2017. I only had to hit Fetch new scrape information button. 🍻
Cool thing about localtunnel is that you can easily host your own localtunnel server with github.com/localtunnel/server so if it ever stops working with localtunnel.me, you can run your own somewhere in the cloud ⛅
You can use ngrok to create a random public subdomain that routes to your local webserver very easily, even through NAT or firewalls.
Just download ngrok and run ./ngrok http 8080 (assuming 8080 is your local webserver http port).
This will create a random subdomain like http://38a84a97.ngrok.io/ that routes to your local webserver and that you can use with Facebook to test your open graph tags.

As a bit simpler approach you can use a browser extension like https://socialsharepreview.com/browser-extensions - which will show your Social Cards directly in the Browser (which of course might fail, if you wrongly didn't set them serverside :))
To test open graph (and Twitter cards) I also had to expose localhost (Docker) to Facebook and Twitter. I used Serveo
It works very well for this, no need to install anything as it works with ssh port forwarding.
$ ssh -R 80:localhost:3000 serveo.net
Then navigate to the url given, and there you go.
You have to setup a public domain which points to your public ip address.
Use dynes.org or a similar service and setup your router to forward your port 80.
There are several tools you can use for serving something up over your localhost, each with varying degrees of functionality.
I prefer (obviously) http://forwardhq.com

If anyone is looking to preview the :og tags on while developing on subdomains (using lvh.me) in localhost. You can use https://serveo.net.
Simply use following command to forward your local server requests. No installation required.
ssh -R yoursubdomain.serveo.net:80:yoursubdomain.lvh.me:3000 serveo.net
you can put your desired port in place of 3000.

I want to make the browser open a local url with a name of the live url. Meaning that when I do:
sel.open('http://live-url/)
selenium will actually open the local url.
One would test this by changing it's hosts file but this is impossible when running on many machines.

Selenium cannot change the hosts file as it can only interact with pages rendered inside a broswer.
You could probably set your CI server up to do something like this, but again I have to ask why. Hacking around with a site and then testing it will surely invalidate your tests?
I'm running WAMP on Vista and have Apache virtual hosts and my hosts file all set up to allow me to test sites locally using an address like this:
http://testsitex.localhost:8080
Only problem is, it only works in Firefox. IE and Safari (currently the only other browsers I've tried, and the two I'm most concerned about) display an an error.
I'm not currently in front of my machine but the error is something along the lines of:
502 Bad Gateway

I would try changing it from testsitex.localhost to testsite.loc and see if you have the same problem. Alternatively, try pinging it from the command prompt, and see if you're seeing the same problem.
Another thing might be that Firefox ignores the windows proxy, whereas IE and Safari likely use the default windows proxy (settings -> control panel -> internet -> connections -> lan settings). If your proxy doesn't have the hosts file, this would explain it.
Have you put testsitex.localhost into your HOSTS files?
