IE Login Automation with VBA failed for microsoft website - vba

I have the following code, which works fine until it fills in my username and Microsoft Login Website seems to produce weird error and I have no idea how to go forward. See code and picture for better understanding of this issue.
Sub testLogin()
Dim IE, username, url, password
Set IE = CreateObject("InternetExplorer.Application")
username = "myusername#outlook.com"
url = "https://login.microsoftonline.com/"
password = "mypassword"
With IE
.Visible = True
.Navigate url
Do While .Busy
Sleep 100
Loop
' fill in username => this step produce weird input value
.Document.forms.f1.elements.loginfmt.Value = username
' click next
.Document.forms.f1.elements.idSIButton9.Click
.Document.forms.f1.elements.passwd.Value = password
End With
'clean up code
End Sub

Try this. It should get you there:
Sub Log_In()
Dim IE As New InternetExplorer, html As HTMLDocument
With IE
.Visible = True
.navigate "https://login.microsoftonline.com/"
While .readyState < 4: DoEvents: Wend
Set html = .document
End With
Application.Wait Now + TimeValue("00:00:05")
html.getElementsByName("loginfmt")(0).innerText = "your_email"
Application.Wait Now + TimeValue("00:00:03")
html.getElementById("idSIButton9").Click
Application.Wait Now + TimeValue("00:00:05")
html.getElementsByName("passwd")(0).innerText = "your_password"
Application.Wait Now + TimeValue("00:00:03")
html.getElementById("idSIButton9").Click
IE.Quit
End Sub

VBA website automation

Good Afternoon All,
I have created some code that automatically logs me into my works website, however when trying to get the VBA to enter value into one of the search boxes I always recieve error 438: Object doesn't support this propery or method.
This is my code below please can you help:
Option Explicit
Const MyUserName As String = "username"
Const MyPassword As String = "password"
Const READYSTATE_COMPLETE As Integer = 4
Dim objIE As Object
Sub LoginScript()
Dim Message, Title, Default
Dim MyValue As String
Dim currenttime As Date
Set objIE = CreateObject("InternetExplorer.Application")
If MsgBox("Do you want to search for a member?", vbYesNo, "Login") =
vbNo Then
With objIE
.Visible = True
.Silent = True
.Navigate ("https://XXXXXXXXX.com/")
Do Until .ReadyState = READYSTATE_COMPLETE
DoEvents
Loop
.Document.all.txtuserid.Value = MyUserName
.Document.all.txtpassword.Value = MyPassword
.Document.all.save_button.Click
Do Until .ReadyState = READYSTATE_COMPLETE
DoEvents
Loop
End With
Else
Message = "Please enter clients CTC number" ' Set prompt.
Title = "Member Search" ' Set title.
' Display message, title, and default value.
MyValue = InputBox(Message, Title)
With objIE
.Visible = True
.Silent = True
.Navigate ("https://XXXXXXXXX.com/")
Do Until .ReadyState = READYSTATE_COMPLETE
DoEvents
Loop
.Document.all.txtuserid.Value = MyUserName
.Document.all.txtpassword.Value = MyPassword
.Document.all.save_button.Click
Do Until .ReadyState = READYSTATE_COMPLETE
DoEvents
Loop
currenttime = Now
Do Until currenttime + TimeValue("00:00:10") <= Now
Loop
Do Until .ReadyState = READYSTATE_COMPLETE
DoEvents
Loop
.Document.getElementsById("txtClientRef").Value = MyValue <------ Errors Here
End With
End If
End Sub
Id should be unique, and the syntax is getElementById, so try:
.Document.getElementById("txtClientRef").Value
It is also a good idea to do .Document.getElementById("txtClientRef").Focus first.
If this then yields runtime error 424 it may be either that the object doesn't exist, as specified, or is not available at the time you attempt the assignment. For the latter to you can attempt to loop until not nothing with a specified timeout.

Automate clicking buttons on one page and then another page using vba

I am trying to work on something that clicks a button\line on a page, then clicks on others when the new page loads. I can get my vba to click the first button/link, but then when trying to click the next I am getting the error
Run-time error 91: Object variable or With block variable not set
Now I have to be honest, the code I do have is from research, and by no means do I understand it fully, I have searched all over trying to rectify the 2nd click, but nothing seems to be working.
the code I have so far is
Public Sub SHAREREPORTING()
Dim IE As SHDocVw.InternetExplorer
Dim Button As Object
Dim Button2 As Object
Set IE = New InternetExplorerMedium
IE.Visible = True
IE.navigate "URL"
Do While IE.ReadyState <> READYSTATE_COMPLETE Or IE.Busy: DoEvents: Loop
Set Button = IE.Document.getElementById("b1_pki")
Button.Click
Application.Wait (Now + TimeValue("0:00:05"))
SendKeys "mypassword" , True
SendKeys "{ENTER}", True
Do While IE.ReadyState <> READYSTATE_COMPLETE Or IE.Busy: DoEvents: Loop
Set Button2 = IE.Document.getElementById("seite-itm-2")
Application.Wait (Now + TimeValue("0:00:05"))
Button2.Click
End Sub
the code for the 2 buttons ( I am calling them buttons/links, because I'm not too sure what they are, I don't understand javascript) I am trying to click at the moment is
Button1/Link1
<A onclick=loginViaPKI(); onkeypress=loginViaPKI(); id=b1_pki title="Log on with PKI - Button - To activate, press spacebar." class=urBtnEmph hideFocus style="WHITE-SPACE: nowrap" href="javascript:void(0);" ct="Button">Log on with PKI</A>
Button2/Link2
<TD onclick="return htmlbSL(this,7,'seite:sel_tab_2','','3','sel_tab_2')" id=seite-itm-2 class=urTbsLabelOff onkeydown="if (sapUrMapi_checkKey(event,'keydown',new Array('32'))){return htmlbSL(this,7,'seite:sel_tab_2','','3','sel_tab_2')};sapUrMapi_TabStrip_keySelect('seite',2,4,event);" noWrap><SPAN id=seite-itm-2-txt title="Bookmarks " class=urTbsTxtOff>Bookmarks </SPAN></TD>
The program requires references to the following:
1 Microsoft Internet Controls
2. Microsoft HTML Object Library
The Internet control is used to browse the webpage and the HTML Objects are used to identify the username and password textboxes and submit the text using the control button.
Dim HTMLDoc As HTMLDocument
Dim oBrowser As InternetExplorer
Sub Login_2_Website()
Dim oHTML_Element As IHTMLElement
Dim sURL As String
On Error GoTo Err_Clear
sURL = "https://www.google.com/accounts/Login"
Set oBrowser = New InternetExplorer
oBrowser.Silent = True
oBrowser.timeout = 60
oBrowser.navigate sURL
oBrowser.Visible = True
Do
' Wait till the Browser is loaded
Loop Until oBrowser.readyState = READYSTATE_COMPLETE
Set HTMLDoc = oBrowser.Document
HTMLDoc.all.Email.Value = "sample#vbadud.com"
HTMLDoc.all.passwd.Value = "*****"
For Each oHTML_Element In HTMLDoc.getElementsByTagName("input")
If oHTML_Element.Type = "submit" Then oHTML_Element.Click: Exit For
Next
' oBrowser.Refresh ' Refresh If Needed
Err_Clear:
If Err <> 0 Then
Debug.Assert Err = 0
Err.Clear
Resume Next
End If
End Sub

Not able to login to a webpage using excel, error 424 object required

I am trying to login to this webpage, https://www.fois.indianrail.gov.in/ecustomer/JSP/QryInsight.jsp
using VBA. Debugging shows me that the VBA throws an error 424 object required when username line is active (apparently it is not able to fill the username data).
Here's the code:
Sub Test()
Set ie = CreateObject("InternetExplorer.application")
ie.Visible = True
ie.Navigate ("https://www.fois.indianrail.gov.in/ecustomer/JSP/QryInsight.jsp")
With ie.document
.getElementById("txtUserId").Value = "ABCDE"
.getElementById("txtPassword").Value = "ABCDE"
.getElementById("submit").Click
End With
End Sub
Can anyone help me with debugging the problem while logging in to the given webpage?
Take a look at the below example:
Option Explicit
Sub Test()
Dim oIE As Object
Set oIE = CreateObject("InternetExplorer.application")
With oIE
.Visible = True
.Navigate ("https://www.fois.indianrail.gov.in/ecustomer/JSP/QryInsight.jsp")
Do While .ReadyState < 4 Or .Busy
DoEvents
Loop
With .Document
Do While .ReadyState <> "complete"
DoEvents
Loop
With .parentWindow.frames("frmCUMain").document
.getElementsByName("txtUserId")(0).Value = "ABCDE"
.getElementsByName("txtPassword")(0).Value = "ABCDE"
.getElementsByName("cmdLogin")(0).Click
End With
End With
End With
End Sub

Log-in to Website

I'm trying to create an Excel macro that will log me into this website. I've written macros to log me into to other websites, but this one is somehow different.
When I use the following code to programmatically insert the username and password and then programmatically click the "log-in" button, the webpage comes back with the message
Error: please provide a username and Error: Please provide a
password
Sub LogIn()
' Open IE and navigate to the log-in page
Set ie = CreateObject("InternetExplorer.Application")
With ie
.Visible = True
.navigate "https://www.prudential.com/login"
' Loop until the page is fully loaded
Do Until Not ie.Busy And ie.ReadyState = 4
DoEvents
Loop
Application.Wait (Now + TimeValue("0:00:10"))
' Enter the necessary information on the Login web page and click the submit button
ie.document.getElementById("username").Value = "abcdef"
ie.document.getElementById("password").Value = "12345678"
ie.document.getElementsByClassName("btn btn-primary btn-login btn-sm-block analytics-login")(0).Click
' Loop until the page is fully loaded
Do Until Not ie.Busy And ie.ReadyState = 4
DoEvents
Loop
End With
' Do stuff
' Quit IE
ie.Quit
End Sub
I can see that my code has inserted the username and password into the webpage boxes, but for some reason after successfully clicking the submit button, the username and password are not being detected.
What code will successfully insert the username and password so that it can be processed by the web page? You'll know that your code works when you get the following error message:
We are unable to verify your username and password. Please try again.
Thanks for your help!
It actually wants you to send a key, so you can bypass this request like this:
ie.document.getElementById("username").Focus
ie.document.getElementById("username").Value = "abcde"
Application.SendKeys "f", True
ie.document.getElementById("password").Focus
ie.document.getElementById("password").Value = "1234567"
Application.SendKeys "8", True
ie.document.getElementsByClassName("btn btn-primary btn-login btn-sm-block analytics-login")(0).Click
Edit:
Sub GetData()
Dim ie As InternetExplorer
Dim desc As IHTMLElement
Set ie = New InternetExplorer
With ie
.navigate "https://www.prudential.com/login"
.Visible = True
End With
Do While (ie.Busy Or ie.ReadyState <> READYSTATE_COMPLETE)
DoEvents
Loop
ie.document.getElementById("username").Focus
Application.SendKeys "abcdef"
Application.Wait (Now + TimeValue("0:00:01"))
ie.document.getElementById("password").Focus
Application.SendKeys "12345678"
Application.Wait (Now + TimeValue("0:00:01"))
ie.document.getElementsByClassName("btn btn-primary btn-login btn-sm-block analytics-login")(0).Click
Set ie = Nothing
End Sub
Try the code below:
Option Explicit
Const READYSTATE_COMPLETE As Long = 4
Const URL_String As String = "https://www.prudential.com/login"
Sub Login()
Dim IE As Object
Dim ObjElement As Object
' using Late Binding
Set IE = CreateObject("InternetExplorer.Application")
With IE
.navigate URL_String
.Visible = True
End With
Do While (IE.Busy Or IE.ReadyState <> READYSTATE_COMPLETE)
DoEvents
Loop
IE.document.getElementByid("username").Value = "abcdef"
IE.document.getElementByid("password").Value = "12345678"
' Optional: I didn't need the wait time
Application.Wait (Now + TimeValue("0:00:01"))
Set ObjElement = IE.document.getElementsByClassName("btn btn-primary btn-login btn-sm-block analytics-login")
ObjElement(0).Click
Set IE = Nothing
End Sub
Another approach might be something like the following.
Sub Get_Logged_In()
Dim IE As New InternetExplorer, HTML As HTMLDocument
Dim post As Object, elem As Object
With IE
.Visible = True
.navigate "https://www.prudential.com/login"
While .Busy = True Or .readyState < 4: DoEvents: Wend
Set HTML = .document
End With
With HTML
Set post = .querySelector("#username")
post.Focus
post.innerText = "abcdef"
Set elem = .querySelector("#password")
elem.Focus
elem.innerText = "12345678"
.querySelector("button[data-qa='Login Button']").Click
End With
IE.Quit
End Sub
Reference to add to the library:
1. Microsoft Internet Controls
2. Microsoft HTML Object Library
In case anyone else has a similar problem I was finally able to get Sendkeys to work. Still, if anyone can come up with a non-Sendkeys solution it would be much preferred.
Two important points in getting Sendkeys to work are 1) use of
Set WSS = CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
and 2) to be sure to run the macro from Excel (e.g. tools-macro-macros) and not from the VB Editor (running from the editor will simply insert the text somewhere within the code and not on the target webpage).
' Open IE and navigate to the log-in page
Application.StatusBar = "Opening IE and logging in to the website"
Set WSS = CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
my_username = "abcdef"
my_pw = "12345678"
Set ie = CreateObject("InternetExplorer.Application")
With ie
.Visible = True
.navigate "https://www.prudential.com/login"
.Top = 0
.Left = 0
.Height = 1025
.Width = 1925
' Loop until the page is fully loaded
Do Until Not ie.Busy And ie.ReadyState = 4
DoEvents
Loop
Application.Wait (Now + TimeValue("0:00:10"))
WSS.SendKeys "{TAB}{TAB}{TAB}{TAB}{TAB}{TAB}{TAB}{TAB}{TAB}{TAB}{TAB}{TAB}{TAB}{TAB}{TAB}{TAB}{TAB}{TAB}{TAB}{TAB}{TAB}{TAB}{TAB}{TAB}{TAB}{TAB}{TAB}{TAB}{TAB}{TAB}{TAB}"
Application.Wait (Now + TimeValue("0:00:01"))
WSS.SendKeys my_username
Application.Wait (Now + TimeValue("0:00:01"))
WSS.SendKeys "{TAB}"
Application.Wait (Now + TimeValue("0:00:01"))
WSS.SendKeys my_pw
Application.Wait (Now + TimeValue("0:00:01")
ie.document.getElementsByClassName("btn btn-primary btn-login btn-sm-block analytics-login")(0).Click
' Loop until the page is fully loaded
Do Until Not ie.Busy And ie.ReadyState = 4
DoEvents
Loop
End With
' You're now logged in, do your stuff..

Press a link on a webpage using Excel VBA

I have this code where it goes to Minecraft.net and enters the username and password, and then goes to the profile page. I need to change the password on the account, which will be in cell A1 of the worksheet. I can't seem to figure out how to click the change password link. This is my code so far:
Dim IE As Object
Sub submitFeedback3()
Application.ScreenUpdating = False
Set IE = CreateObject("InternetExplorer.Application")
IE.Visible = True
IE.Navigate "https://minecraft.net/login"
Application.StatusBar = "Submitting"
' Wait while IE loading...
While IE.Busy
DoEvents
Wend
' **********************************************************************
IE.Document.getElementById("username").Value = "dddddddd"
IE.Document.getElementById("password").Value = "ddd"
IE.Document.getElementById("signin").Click
'**********************************************************************
Application.StatusBar = "Form Submitted"
Set IE = Nothing
Application.ScreenUpdating = True
End Sub
If the click doesn't work then you could try to submit the html form.
' Add reference to Microsoft Internet Controls
' Add reference to Microsoft HTML Object Library
Set IE = New InternetExplorer
IE.Visible = True
IE.Navigate "https://minecraft.net/login"
While IE.Busy
DoEvents
Wend
IE.Document.getElementById("username").Value = "dddddddd"
IE.Document.getElementById("password").Value = "ddd"
Dim htmlForm As HTMLFormElement
Set htmlForm = IE.Document.getElementById("loginForm")
htmlForm.submit
