Ok, So I have been trying to upload an FBX 6100 model into blender and been having a little bit of a problem with uploading. I have tried converting the model into other file types and it seems to lose some resolution of it, essentially becoming worse. Is it possible to bring the file from 6100 to 7100 in any way? Autodesk converter has not been of any help either...so I am kinda in a bind.
If you have windows 10, you can convert old FBX files by loading them into PAINT 3D and then choose:
menu > export file > FBX
This allowed me to successfully import this FBX 6100 low poly car into blender 2.79.

After Putting a model in unity from Blender it sais:
Blender could not convert the .blend file to FBX file.
You need to use Blender 2.45-2.49 or 2.58 and later versions for direct Blender import to work.
Note that i have Blender 2.71
UnityEditorInternal.InternalEditorUtility:ProjectWindowDrag(HierarchyProperty, Boolean)
UnityEditor.DockArea:OnGUI()
I found this, how to solve this issue. open the .blender file in Blender then click the file at the top left corner, then import change to .fbx and save. when you are done then close the Blender.
Hope that solve the problem.
Found out you go to :
FILE/Export and choose
I have a large single-page PDF (about 700KB) that was automatically generated by the Trace2UML tool. This provides the means to generate a UML interaction diagram from the trace logs obtained while running an application. It has options to export the diagram to PDF and PNG file formats; however, due to the large image size, the PNG export fails, whereas the PDF export succeeds. So I have been looking for a way to conert this large file from PDF to PNG format.
I've googled this for for a couple of hours this morning. There are lots of programs and on-line services to do it, but none of them work with my file. When I load the file into PDF-XChange Viewer, it indicates that the image size is 136 x 11186 cm. So, definitely huge! Is there any way to convert this file?
For mac, the Preview could convert pdf to png (just open pdf and save as png), not sure if it works for large file though.
I'm trying to import cad model into blend and then make some storyboard on it.
Idea was to export xaml file from solidworks and then import it to blend.
File open in blend, model is displayed correctly and every thing works until i zoom/move or make any action that results in immediate program crash.
Xaml file is about 5mb, and outside blend works fine in my program i can rotate, zoom it freely with good performance.
Have anyone encountered similar problem, or have good method for converting cad->xaml.
I did when working on an augmented reality feature in a desktop aplication.
My solution was to convert the object to fbx format and use the XMA game studio controls to view it. Then I was able to do what I wish in blend.
I have a 3D max file for a shape. And i convert it to a 3ds file. Then convert it to a xaml file by Zam3D. But the file is too big to load, my computer is crashed by the exception "Output of Memory". What can i do to reduce the xaml file size?
how large is you file? I am working with 3D model files having about 8 MB and are very detailed. The largest I imported successfully had 13.4 MB and the 29 MB-model crashed with the same exception you got but it was not well designed.
To convert 3ds into xaml I am using the Reader3ds of Wpf-Graphics. You avoid the step to convert it twice (through zam3d). The Reader3ds is able to read even large files and you can comfortably use the elements. Next I'm not glad using zam3d, I expect zam3d to put more information to the file than needed. Even the geometry I get is not the same as it was before and lights are added I did not use.
To reduce your xaml you can also try to work with a ResourceDictionary to swap the information to another file and just use it when it's needed.
Hope this helps

I was looking for a quick way to generate UML like documentation for my project when I stumbled across the Quick Model menu item in Xcode. I was wondering if there were a way to export these diagrams in a non-platform-specific file format like png or pdf? Basically I want to take some quick visual diagrams (illustrating component relationships) of some of the major classes in our project to management. Does anyone know of an idea?
File > Print, and choose Save to PDF from the gear menu in the Print dialog. Works in nearly every Mac OS X app.
#testing GraphicConverter allows you to open PDF's or files saved to iPhoto and then converted to PNG and crop them with precision to then rejoin in a bigger file. It's quite tedious but works. OmniGraffle should have a CoreData importer but it's not in the Standard version.
