Since firefox Quantum a lot of extension doesm't work anymore. One of them is the "add to Searchbar" extension. I searched in the firefox quantum Webextension API's after a solution to develop a new extension to add searchengines to the default searchinputfield. But it seems there is no api access to the searchengines list for reading or editing this List. And there is no posibility to replace the default searchbar because, you only can add a button to the toolbar. see:https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Add-ons/WebExtensions/user_interface.
Is there any possbility to get access to the searchbar? And if not where can I make a feauture Request?
Currently, this is not yet possible.

What technical requirements or methods do I need to implement to make my app appear in the URL browser under "app Store" suggestions in safari? This is what happens if I am typing in "slack" straight into the url bar of safari. It also appears if I haven't installed slack at all --> that's what I would like to implement as well.
Is that a auto suggestion-tool by safari which we can not influence at all?
Any hints to make that happen? Here's an image of Slack on Safari:
Thanks a lot!
These suggestions are known as Safari or Siri Suggestions, and appear to be controlled solely by Apple/Safari itself.
One source on Quora says,
“Siri Suggested Websites” are search results that come directly from Apple’s own search engine, based on websites they’ve crawled and indexed. It’s not based on your search history (or even anything you’ve done with Siri).
I wonder if your app would show up as a Suggestion if it was unique or popular enough in Apple's search indices...
I want to display Terms and Conditions Page for the user who sign in first time before redirecting to the fiori launchpad. Is it possible to do this?
You might want to see if an extension would suit your use case, as seen here in the footer bar image in the documentation: Extending the Launchpad.
Otherwise, it might be possible to implement this feature using an FLP plugin.
Helpful additional info can be found here:

How would I make a button that when clicked the user of the app will be posting a screenshot of the canvas page they are on and have it posted to their wall? And maybe add some comments with it as well.
you would have to require the user to add some additional plugin to their browser. There are many plugins that do this - for example clipboard.com provides this functionality.
To the best of my knowledge, these extensions actually make a request themselves (in the back-end) to the url you are currently on and takes the screenshot from that url on the actual server. From there it can be shared and commented on.
However with out some external utility I don't think this functionality is possible.
hope this helps...
I need to develop a simple webapp that allows the user to highlight a couple of words in the file (text or HTML) that he can load from the screen, and then right-click and have some options show up to choose from.
When she chooses the option , the text of it is added to the file shown on the screen, right after the highlighted text, inside some parenthesis or similar.
Is Ruby on Rails a suitable platform for developing such an app?
Is Grails more suitable ?
(Assuming similar level of knowledge in Groovy and Ruby)
In both cases, I'd appreciate pointers to gems/libraries I should be looking into for these tasks.
Thanks!
I'm not 100% sure I understand your requirements, but have you considered integrating a WYSIWYG (what-you-see-is-what-you-get) editor into your web app? Something like CKeditor is open-source, and effective.
You could load the file into the editor and setup a custom context menu like described in part 6 of this tutorial. So when the user right clicks in the editor, the custom context menu item could be configured to facilitate the insertion you are looking to accomplish.
I agree with corroded's advice to choose a language/framework you know and can work better in, as you'll be able to achieve your desired functionality through a variety of languages/frameworks.
Best of Luck!
Find a language/framework you know and can work better in. Also, you're gonna need some javascript magicks so I suggest using jquery. Here's a link on how to do your right click action: How to distinguish between left and right mouse click with jQuery
I think the function you describe is more about client user-friendliness than server processing. I think it's can only be done with javascript/jQuery or similar tools.
Same as tmarsden, I think a good way to do that is integrating a WYSIWYG free editor. I have done it before with TinyMCE, by writing a custom plugin for this tool. If you choose using Grails as server technology, you can take a look at TinyMCE plugin for Grails.
I am using FCK Editor 2.6.4 and having problems trying to embed a (non-YouTube) video into a content area.
I found this previous question / post:
[EDIT -- as a new user, I am only able to post one link in this post. The post in question is titled, "Can I embed video using FCK Editor?")
and have investigated all of the proposed solutions, but none of them work properly:
1 -- Using the "Embed Flash" button in the control panel almost works. However, the video I am attempting to add contains a querystring with parameters, like this:
http://static.animoto.com/swf/w.swf?w=swf/vp1&e=1275795594&f=mGQklEgxXKs9vfEIdGnWsA&d=132&m=p&r=w&i=m&ct=Homes%20in%20Eagle%20Creek&cu=http://hometoindy.com/eagle-creek-real-estate.php&options=
and in using the Flash embed tool, it encodes all of the "&" characters to "& amp;", thus breaking them. If it were just for me, I could manually change them back, but clients who use this will not know how to do that.
2 -- I have installed the YouTube video plugin, and it works great... for YouTube. But it cannot be used to embed non-YouTube videos (it automatically changes the URL to YouTube, no matter what).
3 -- I have installed the EmbedMovies plugin, but it throws a javascript error when attempting to add a video file (such as the above) to a page. (The EmbedMovies plugin page on SourceForge says it has been updated for FCK Editor 2.6, but it does not work.)
4 -- Pasting directly into the editor window (of course) does not work. The only way I've been able to make this work is by pasting into the Source panel, and this is not a good option for clients who are not familiar with HTML.
So, is there a good, working plugin for FCK editor that will allow me to quickly and easily embed a video such as the one above into a content area? I don't need to be able to see or preview it in the editor window; I just need it to work when the page is loaded on the front end.
Thanks!
Given the question you found, and scarcity of answers to that, chances are that the plugin you want does not exist.
If your videos are actually from one, though non-standard, source, I can only repeat my advice from that topic - write your own plugin. I have code of plugin I wrote linked there, it should be easy to change it to accomodate your needs.
