As recommended, I used Linqpad sample query "But I don't have Northwind" to create the Northwind.mdf file and the test button worked.
However, when I run the preceding sample query I get an error that
Cannot execute text selection: CS0103 The name 'Products' does not exist in the current context
Please what have I done wrong?

I'm attempting to execute a 236 line query in DataGrip in an attached BigQuery console. When I select the whole script to run, it always only executes up to the 19th line. Because of that, I get this error
[HY000][100032] [Simba][BigQueryJDBCDriver](100032) Error executing query job. Message: Syntax error: Unexpected end of script at [19:49] com.simba.googlebigquery.support.exceptions.GeneralException: [Simba][BigQueryJDBCDriver](100032) Error executing query job. Message: Syntax error: Unexpected end of script at [19:49]
I've tried running it as a SQL file as well, but that resulted in the same error. I Know that this query is valid because it returns the desired results when I run it directly in the Google Cloud query editor. Has anyone else run into this issue, and is there a fix?
We introduced BigQuery dialect recently and it does not apply to your previously created data source after update, since this data source was created with custom driver with 'Generic' dialect as default. It is needed to change dialect in driver options, then you'll have all related consoles and datasources with correct one.
I execute a SQL query (for PostgreSQL) via psql.exe inside a Windows batch. I get an error I can't explain, saying that a FROM clause is missing for a table that is not called within the query (see below). When I search in the batch file for geo_c3_0_3_mo table, the string is not found...
Any idea on this kind of issue?
EDIT :
If I copy-paste the query from the batch file into a pgAdminIII SQL query window, the query runs perfectly and no error message is returned.
When I remove one of the subqueries, the error either disappear or mention another badly written table name (for instance: missing FROM-clause for table "geoc__0_3_mo")... It seems more and more that the issue comes from the length of the line (19,413 characters!). To me, it is not possible to write the query on several lines within a batch file, like inside a pgAdminIII SQL query window. The solution would be to keep the query inside a *.sql file and to call that file from the batch file.
Write the query to a tempfile in your batch, then execute it with psql -f. This will bypass command-line length issues.
I am using PDI to delete and insert some data from a DB. I have the following issue. I create two variables called START_DATE and END_DATE that are used to select the data that will be deleted from my DB. I am able to get them and run my transformation with no erors in the log file, but when I checked if data was deleted, I find it didn't. I send checked my "DeleteProcedure" step, and it says "Conversion error: null". I have tried different approached to take the variables and pass them as Strings, but I haven't been able to solve this issue. It cannot be a SQL mistake as I tested it with a constant and it works.
Any ideas? I attach some pics. Thanks!
As a documentation of the Execute SQL script says:
Note: When you have an issue, that the SQL is started at the initialization phase of the transformation and not for each row, make sure to check the option "Execute for each row" (see description below).
In your case it executes during the initialization phase of the transformation that's why it gets null values instead of ones from previous step.
I am performing a DB2 load, and I am struggling to understand the impact of using GeneratedOverride over IdentityOverride. When I run the following command:
db2 load from tab123.ixf of ixf replace into application.table_abc
All rows are rejected, with the following error being the culprit:
SQL3550W The field value in row row-number and column column-number is not NULL, but the target column has been defined as GENERATED ALWAYS.
So to try and step around this, I executed
:
db2 load from tab123.ixf of ixf modified by identityoverride replace into application.table_abc
But this immediately returned this error:
SQL3526N The modifier clause "IDENTITY OVERRIDE" is inconsistent with the current load command. Reason code: "3".
From checking the reason code I see that the issue is "Generated or identity related file type modifiers have been specified but the target table contains no such columns." .. but the SQL3550W error seems to infer that the columns are generated always!
The only way I can get these rows to commit to the table is to run..
db2 load from tab123.ixf of ixf modified by generatedoverride replace into application.table_abc
Can anyone enlighten me to why I am recieving the SQL3526N error, or what the implications of running generatedoverride are?
Thanks for sticking with me..
Generated columns are not necessarily identity columns, apparently that's the case in your situation. Check the CREATE TABLE syntax to see what are other ways to generate column values.
By using the GENERATEDOVERRIDE option during the load you are obviously replacing (overriding) the generated values with those from the input file.
Some of the queries I have written inside MS-Access are getting deleted automatically. And while I run the queries through code, I get this error:
Query should have one destination field
What can be the possible reason?
Explanation: I created a query in MS-access. Ran it from the code. Closed the database. Started it again, and now for that particular query, it is showing 'SELECT ;'only.
Strange. I am in panic mode now
Check if your query actually has any fields in the query design grid. When you open the query in design view, you will most likely notice it doesn't.
Does the query stick around when you don't run the code (but still close and reopen the database)?
If so, I would suspect that something in your code is overwriting the query.
