Polymer 2 - Slot Testing - polymer-2.x

I am running through some test suites, but the trouble is the test assertions are coming back negative because I cannot seem to access the pulled through content of the slot!
Basically looking for some resources and guidance on polymer 2 testing practices for slotted content
Any help appreciated

Something like this might help to assert the contents of slots:
var slots = this.shadowRoot.querySelectorAll("slot")
for (var i = 0, len = slots.length; i < len; i++) {
console.log("slot: ", slots[i].assignedNodes());
if (slots[i].assignedNodes().length != 0) {
// assert something
...
This queries the slots of the shadowRoot and iterates them. With assignedNodes you get the contents of the respective slot.

How to read values from a view to insert in ratingValue and ratingCount in my web in order to be recognized by Google Structured data testing tool?

I was using an external service to get Aggregate Rating in my recipes blog, but dis service disappeared so I decided to build one myself. First of all, this is my first experience with cloud data and JavaScript programming so please, be paciente with me :-).
I'm doing my experiments in this duplicate of my blog: https://jleavalc.blogspot.com/
by now it works as I planned, letting one to vote and storing results in a oracle table, making it possible to retrieve results from a view of this table to get ratingCount and ratingValue values, as anyone can see in that link...
But at the end, despite you can see the stars, despite you can vote and get result stored, showing voting results, Structured data testing tool don't see tag values, so all work is useless.
I think I'm getting close to the problem, but not getting close to the solution. I have the impression that the cause of my problems is the asynchrony of the execution of the script that brings the data from the table, while the function is executed, the browser continues to render the page and it doesn't arrive in time to write those values before the google tool can read them, so they appear empty to it.
I have tried everything including labels and variables in GTM with the same result. The latest version of the code, from this morning is installed right before the "/head" tag and it looks like this:
<script style='text/javascript'>
var myPostId = "<data:widgets.Blog.first.posts.first.id/>";
// <![CDATA[
var micuenta = 0;
var nota = 0;
getText("https://ge4e65cc87f573d-XXXXXXXXXXXX.adb.eu-amsterdam-1.oraclecloudapps.com/ords/admin/notas/?q={\"receta\":{\"$eq\":\"" + myPostId + "\"}}");
async function getText(file) {
let x = await fetch(file);
let y = await x.text();
let datos = JSON.parse(y);
nota = datos.items[0].media;
micuenta = datos.items[0].votos;
};
// This version gives the same result and is interchangeable with the previous one. I keep it commented so as not to forget it:
// var settings = {
// "url": "https://ge4e65cc87f573d-db20220526112405.adb.eu-amsterdam-1.oraclecloudapps.com/ords/admin/notas/?q={\"receta\":{\"$eq\":\"" + myPostId + "\"}}",
// "method": "GET",
// "timeout": 0,
// "async": false,
// };
// $.ajax(settings).done(function (response) {
// if (response.items.length != 0) {
// micuenta = response.items[0].votos;
// nota = response.items[0].media;
// }
// });
</script>
The key is, I think, getting this call to execute before Google's tool finishes rendering the Blogger post page.
The URL that I invoke to get the data calls an oracle view that returns a single row with the corresponding data from the recipe, placing this call:
recipe
In the browser the result is the following:
{"items":[{"receta":"5086941171011962392","media":4.5,"votos":12}],"hasMore":false,"limit":25,"offset":0,"count":1,"links":[{"rel":"self","href":"https://ge4e65cc87f573d-db20220526112405.adb.eu-amsterdam-1.oraclecloudapps.com/ords/admin/notas/?q=%7B%22receta%22:%7B%22%24eq%22:%225086941171011962392%22%7D%7D"},{"rel":"edit","href":"https://ge4e65cc87f573d-db20220526112405.adb.eu-amsterdam-1.oraclecloudapps.com/ords/admin/notas/?q=%7B%22receta%22:%7B%22%24eq%22:%225086941171011962392%22%7D%7D"},{"rel":"describedby","href":"https://ge4e65cc87f573d-db20220526112405.adb.eu-amsterdam-1.oraclecloudapps.com/ords/admin/metadata-catalog/notas/"},{"rel":"first","href":"https://ge4e65cc87f573d-db20220526112405.adb.eu-amsterdam-1.oraclecloudapps.com/ords/admin/notas/?q=%7B%22receta%22:%7B%22%24eq%22:%225086941171011962392%22%7D%7D"}]}
And I just need to take the median and votes values to create the RatingCount and RatingValue labels
Can anyone offer me an idea that solves this little problem? :-)

conditional testing in cypress - testing if element exist

in my automation, I'm trying to find an element with a specific text on a page.
to be more specific: every page is a movie info page and has a list of actors and I'm trying to find a specific actor.
if found I will count it - count ++.
if not I will move to the next page and try to find it there.
again and again, until I searched all of the pages.
The problem I encountered is how to get the text of the elements, and whenever the automation does not find the text it crashes.
the element : <a data-testid="title-cast-item__actor" href="/name/nm2794962?ref_=tt_cl_t_1" class="StyledComponents__ActorName-y9ygcu-1 eyqFnv">Hailee Steinfeld</a>
the one thing that separates the identification of the elements is the inner text (the name of the actor)
Something like this:
let x = 0;
cy.visit('/your/pages')
cy.get('[data-testid="title-cast-item__actor"]')
.contains('Hailee Steinfeld')
.then(() => cy.log(`Count: ${++x}`));
or with visiting all your pages:
let x = 0;
const pages = ['/page1', '/page2'];
cy.wrap(pages).each((page) => {
cy.visit(page);
cy.get('[data-testid="title-cast-item__actor"]')
.invoke('text')
.then((text) => {
cy.log(`Actor: ${text}`);
if (text === 'Hailee Steinfeld') {
x++;
}
return cy.wrap(x);
})
}).should('be.greaterThan', 0);
But be aware that conditional testing is something that is not recommended by cypress. See https://docs.cypress.io/guides/core-concepts/conditional-testing#The-problem

Altertative solution to require dinamically in React-Native

I have a vector of strings and I want to use each element of that vector with require like that
for(var i = 0; i< happy_songs.melodies.length;++i)
{
var track = '../resources/'
track += happy_songs.melodies[i]
console.log(track)
var song = require(`../resources/${happy_songs.melodies[i]}`)
}
I have tried several syntax approaches but none of them worked, always having a syntax error at the require.
Is there any alternative solution to require which can do the job I want ?
PS: I don't know if this matters but those lines of code are used in an async function.
Hi you can use a aux var as:
var songSource= [path1,path2,...] and use the index as interator to use dinamically

Why does data in list1 changed automatically when I change the data in the other list2 which is cloned from the list1? Using Vue.Draggable

I am using Vue.Draggable in my Vue project and trying to drag(clone) a button from sider into a draggable component.
I want to modify the data when I clone the button into the component. But I find that when I modify the data in the list which is binded with the component, the original list that sider used got changed automatically.
Is there some kind of synchronization mechanism in Vue.Draggable or something? I want to change the object data in the component only.
I tried to modify the object in the list2 manually by using a vue extension in Chrome browser. And it still happens. So I think maybe it's not bug in my code.
addEntity (conditionID, entity) {
if (!entity.forChoose) {
}
else {
let variable = 0;
for (let i = 0, len = this.whens.length; i < len; i++) {
if (this.whens[i].entity[0].id == entity.id) {
variable++;
}
}
this.whens[conditionID].entity[0].forChoose = false;
this.whens[conditionID].entity[0].variable = variable;
this.whens[conditionID].entity[0].name = entity.name + '-fake';
}
},
The code above is the event when I drag the data into the component, and changed some variable.
Although I did nothing to the original data in the Sider where I cloned the data from, it still got changed as well.
Is there a way to change the dragged data but do not affect the original data?
Please help me, thank you!
I think this is happening because of the immutability.
so can you try using spread operator to create new shallow copy of your list before you change it.
how to use spread operator (triple dot)
let newArrayOfWhens = [...this.whens]
then use the "newArrayOfWhens" array in your code
You can create a deep clone as well if you want, but try to avoid it if it is not necessary.
you can use a library call "lodash" to do it very easily
deepClone

How to exclude a field from spellcheck in sharepoint 2010?

I have a SharePointWebControls:UserField in a page layout that needs to be excluded from spell checking, as otherwise whenever a user is selected there are a large number of spelling errors are detected in the code-behind for the control.
It seems that in Sharepoint 2007 this behaviour could be implemented by using excludefromspellcheck = "true" but this doesn't seem to work for Sharepoint 2010. Has anyone come across the same problem and found a way around it?
Based on SpellCheckEntirePage.js, that appears to still be the way:
var elements=document.body.getElementsByTagName("*");
for (index=0; index < elements.length;++index)
{
if (null !=elements[index].getAttribute("excludeFromSpellCheck"))
{
continue;
}
// snipped - if (elements[index].tagName=="INPUT")
// snipped - else if (elements[index].tagName=="TEXTAREA")
}
But excludeFromSpellCheck is not a property of UserField, so it probably won't automatically copy down to the rendered HTML. When rendered, the UserField control is made up of several elements. I would try looking at the View Source to see if excludeFromSpellCheck is making it into the final HTML. But to set the attribute on the appropriate elements, you might need to use some jQuery like this:
$("(input|textarea)[id*='UserField']").attr("excludeFromSpellCheck", "true");
You can disable the spell check for certain fields by setting the "excludeContentFromSpellCheck" attribute to "true" on text area and input controls that you dont want to be spell checked.
I did this on all my page layouts. Now i dont get false positives anymore.
The solution is to add a div tag around the fields you don't want spell checked and adding a javascript that sets "excludeFromSpellCheck" to "true" for the elements within the div tag.
The solution i found is described here: Inaccurate Spell Check on SharePoint Publishing Pages
Joe Furner posted this solution, which has worked for me.
https://www.altamiracorp.com/blog/employee-posts/spell-checking-your-custom-lay
It excludes all PeoplePickers on the page:
function disableSpellCheckOnPeoplePickers() {
var elements = document.body.getElementsByTagName("*");
for (index = 0; index < elements.length; index++) {
if (elements[index].tagName == "INPUT" && elements[index].parentNode && elements[index].parentNode.tagName == "SPAN") {
var elem = elements[index];
if (elem.parentNode.getAttribute("NoMatchesText") != "") {
disableSpellCheckOnPeoplePickersAllChildren(elem.parentNode);
}
}
}
}
function disableSpellCheckOnPeoplePickersAllChildren(elem) {
try {
elem.setAttribute("excludeFromSpellCheck", "true");
for (var i = 0; i < elem.childNodes.length; i++) {
disableSpellCheckOnPeoplePickersAllChildren(elem.childNodes[i]);
}
}
catch(e) {
}
}
This code is working partially only,because if you put the people picker value again checking the people picker garbage value for one time.
