Selenium: After launching Chrome browser, no action is performing - selenium

Just tried to create a TestNG code printing 'pass' after opening chrome browser. Chrome browser is getting opening, but after that no action is performed. After some idle time got an error:

Firefox hangs with Selenium hub using TestNG suite (org.openqa.selenium.WebDriverException: connection refused)

I am developing a test suite which runs the test on different browser. First I am trying to make it work on firefox. But I am having issues with Selenium hub and TestNG. Firefox hangs and does not quit on its own. I am getting configuration error in TestNG. Please help.

I installed firefox extended support release just now. It helped creating a session. But I am getting another error, org.openqa.selenium.WebDriverException: connection refused. Is it because my firewall is blocking the connection ?

Your problem has got nothing to do with TestNG. Your stacktrace indicates that the server component responsible for spawning your Firefox instance didn't start.
You mentioned in your comments that you are using a ESR version of Firefox but you didn't mention what version.
In either case, you should first download geckodriver (which is the server component for firefox), add its location to your PATH variable, restart your node and then try restarting your test again.
If the test fails once again, you would need to look at the console of the node (the command prompt wherein you started the node) to find out what is the error is.

Are you using geckodriver for running your tests on FF?
Does your URL include the port the hub using?
Did you use set system property? see bellow.

Not able to automate using appium for android version 7.1.2 (Redmi 4)

I am running automation on android real devices. The automation works successfully across devices which has version less than 7. But when I try to run automation on devices which has version greater than 7(Redmi-note4, Redmi 4), I am getting a below error.

Update your Appium. The problem was well-known for quite some time, but they apparently finally fixed it not too long ago. I had the same problem and had to restrict all my tests to API's < 7 but now it runs on all API's without any code changes.

Your code looks correct.
I suppose that problem lies in a version of your FireFox and Geckodriver. Check what version of Geckodriver support your FireFox version and update version of selenium to the last one.

Set the path of geckodriver and use the latest version of firefox(or one can check compatible firefox for standalone server).
Now I used firefox ver 52.0.2 and standalone server is 3.3.0
