I am having an issue when I am trying to connect to SQL Database. I have Installed cx_oracle using command: python -m pip install cx_Oracle (version 6.0.2). I use Python 2.7 version 32-bit on Windows 7. SQL DB version is 12.1.0.2.0.
I got the following error when I was trying to connect to SQL Database:
DatabaseError: DPI-1050: Oracle Client library must be at version 11.2 or higher
Can anyone help me to fix this issue? Is there a way to fix the problem without upgrading the oracle to an higher version?
Thanks in advance

This is 1st time here. I am trying to install ora2pg tool to migrate data from oracle 12c to PG20. As per docs, I installed Strawberry Perl and ActiveState Perl on the Windows server where I have Oracle 12c enterprise version (and not the client) installed. On the same machine, I have postgresql installed. When I type gmake.exe on c:\ora2pg20\ I get this error message:
:to undefined at c:\perl64\site\lib\extutils\install.pm line 141.
Is it because I could not get to install DBD::Oracle? Or I am missing something else? Any help?
I had to get ora2pg running earlier today on my Win10 and faced the same issues.
I had also installed Strawberry Perl and ActiveState Perl - and found that the PATH envvar ended up being confused with having multiple Perl environments.
So I got rid of ActiveState PERL and made sure my PATH envvar was correct for Strawberry Perl.
Then I got DBD::Oracle from
https://cpan.metacpan.org/authors/id/M/MJ/MJEVANS/DBD-Oracle-1.80.tar.gz
After installing ora2pg and DBD::Oracle via the standard Perl Makefile process, and creating a valid ora2pg.conf file for my particular Oracle instance, it all started to work.
Good luck
After updating to a new version of Xubuntu 19.10, I am getting an error
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ':', expecting ';' or '{' in /usr/share/php/Twig/ExtensionSet.php on line 70
when trying to connect to phpmyadmin. It works fine when I switch to php7.3 but I get this error message when using php5.6.
I need to use php5.6 for my older projects.
I tried to reinstall apache2, php and phpmyadmin. Nothing seemed to work.
It's not clear which phpMyAdmin version you're using or from where you've acquired it, but the description makes it clear that you've encountered a version compatibility problem. You are trying to use a phpMyAdmin version that is not compatible with the PHP version you're running. I suggest running phpMyAdmin 4.9.x, which is currently in long-term security support phase (where it gets important security fixes, but is no longer getting day-to-day bugfixes). Version 4.9.x supports PHP version 5.6 no problem.
As Williams suggests, you can use the phpMyAdmin repository (sudo add-apt-repository ppa:phpmyadmin/ppa) to keep up to date.
I upgraded the mettermost version from 4.4.1 to 4.5.
However, I got the error...
So, I tried to downgrade the version to 4.4.1, but the mattermost said "The database schema of the older version isn't supported".
Does anyone know how we should modify the database schema.
※browser: FireFox ESR 52
Unfortunately you can't downgrade a Mattermost install to a previous version through any officially supported path. You will need to revert to the database backup from before the upgrade in order to go back to version 4.4.
However, for the specific versions in question (reverting from 4.5 to 4.4) it is possible to do a downgrade as there are no database schema changes between these two versions. You will need to run the following SQL command in your Mattermost database:
UPDATE Systems SET Value='4.4.0' WHERE Name='Version';
You should then be able to run Mattermost 4.4.1 successfully on that database.
I am aware that MS SQL Server 2016 is compatible with Linux. Despite this flavor of SQL, I am needing to run SQL Express for training purposes. Is there a method to successfully operate Microsoft SQL Server Express in the Linux Mint environment?
I think this is an interesting question and shouldn't be marked down. After searching online, i came up with his tutorial on setting up mssql server on linux. I tested on linux mint 18.1.
http://www.tecmint.com/install-ms-sql-server-centos-ubuntu-linux/
I installed MSSQL 2016 on Ubuntu last night. Mint is Debian based so it 'might' work. The instructions are here ...
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-gb/sql/linux/sql-server-linux-setup-ubuntu
The installation process is very simple - in fact it literally took seconds, since it uses the familiar apt-get install package manager install which is available with Mint. One thing to be aware of is the requirement for openssl needs version 1.0.2 - this caught me out. I tinkered around trying to upgrade to the correct version on my ubuntu server and did have the correct version installed but MSSQL still would not install. So I created a 16.04 version of ubuntu and then it installed easily. I'm not sure if my comments qualify as an 'answer' but I'd just try and install it as if you have the dependencies I would think you'll be okay.
Our production application uses Oracle 8i with an embedded license. We do not have control over it so updating our Oracle version is not possible.
What version of Oracle SQL Developer would I need to use to connect to our Oracle 8i database?
The latest versions obviously do not work as Oracle 8i is not supported. What version would I need to use so that it allows me to connect?
A similar thread on OraFAQ has the following suggestion which seems promising as I too think it depends on the JDBC driver version. The suggestion is :
SQL Developer version 1.2.1 is able to connect to 8.1.7 with limited
functionality (prepared reports and browser for objects could not
work)..
Next version (tested with 3.2 64-bit) of SQL developer could be
"hacked" to connect to 8.1.7 by simply copy file
C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\client_1\jdbc\lib\classes12.zip from Oracle
client prior 11 into appropriate jdk\jre\lib\ext folder.

I use SqlDeveloper 1.5.5 for my Oracle Database 8.
But if the Table list is empty use SqlDeveloper 1.2.1
