How to clear all cache of IMacro Browser? - vba

I am using IMacro browser. It uses Internet Explorer browser. It looks like it uses some parameters from caching data.
I want to clear the cache. For that, I have tried to clear cache of Internet Explorer browser but it doesn't reflect on IMacro browser. IMacro browser still uses parameters of cached data.
I have read some reference
1- Can imacros clear ALL history, cache and cookies
2- http://wiki.imacros.net/CLEAR
3- http://forum.imacros.net/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=24378
But I don't know where to fire CLEAR command.
Do I need to fire in MS Excel VBA code where I use this?
Or
Do I need to fire somewhere in IMacro windows of application?

MS Edge: Opening the developer tools panel causes all http requests to occur twice

Using MS Edge and apache w/ php, I just discovered via access.log that when I have the JavaScript debug panel (i.e. developer panel) open, it is making every http call twice. When I closed this panel, it has fixed the issue of all insert statements getting called twice.
Question: Does this doubling of http calls happen on every / most browsers that I need to look out for, or is this something special/unique with MS Edge?
I can't speak for all browsers and all developer tools. But, for IE and Edge the first time you open the tools and then open a JS file in the sources view it will try to request the file again. That request will be served from the local browser cache, sometimes not, depending on the cache settings for the file being requested.
The reason browser tools need to make this request is that browsers will often throw out the original source file as it doesn't need it to execute the page, as the source has been parsed it into something else that it can work with.
However, after you've opened the developer tools the browser will keep around sources in future navigations, either in the tools front end or elsewhere. Not keeping sources is an optimization for the first time use case, to save browsers keeping around source on the very low odds of the tool being used on any given navigation.
Of course some files are never cached by the browser and will need to be downloaded when requested by the tools, for example sourcemapped files.
In general any resources on your site that can be accessed by HTTP GET should be idempotent. That is, a GET shouldn't change the resource being requested (or generall the state of your site), so hopefully making additional requests shouldn't be an issue.

Automating File Download of a link that looks like this: https://www.domain.com/TableData/TableA.csv

I am trying to write an application that will download .csv and .xls files and save them into a folder that will be accessed later by a VBA macro. I am posting this question after the unsuccessful use of the solution in the following link: How do i download a file using VBA (Without internet explorer)
The macro runs successfully, but the downloaded .csv file only contains the html from the login page. I find that strange because when I copy and paste the link directly into the browser without logging in, I am immediately prompted with a save, open, close window for the file.
As much as possible I am trying to avoid using SendKeys, but I can't seem to find another solution that works. I am not opposed to options other than VBA. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.
Your browser stores cookies which likely allows you to login automatically. Try browsing the page in different tabs in an incognito browser and you'll likely have to login each time.
You'll have to find a way to make the same requests your browser is sending to login, and use the cookies stored to make the requests to download the files.

I Have A Tabbed Web Browser In VB And I Want To Allow New Tabs To Open In My Browser Instead of IE

I am designing the 8th update to my tabbed vb web browser (found at swordfish.savershot.net)in VB Express 08 and I'm having trouble with something. Whenever a webpage wants to open a link in a new tab (aka: Google Drive New Document), Internet Explorer turns on and runs the tab through them. I understand how it happens, because VB.NET by default uses IE as their Web Browsing core. However, I do not like it and I would love to be able to set those links to either open in a new tab in my browser or a new window in my browser. I have found a way to cancel the operation altogether but that's not very user friendly and I'd love to get my browser to a level where I can actually use it comfortably without annoying issues occurring. Thanks for the help.

IE 10 not using AppCache after browser closed

I wrote an application using the HTML5 Cache Manifest and I'm having a problem using it in IE 10.
I used Fiddler to witness the manifest file being downloaded and all resources fetched on the initial load of the application. If I disable my network adapter to force the machine offline, the application continues to work as expected as long as I don't close the browser window.
However, when I close the browser window, then attempt to re-open the page from a favorite, IE 10 tells me "You're not connected to a network". Obviously I know that, I'm trying to use the app offline. These exact steps work in Chrome.
Is this behavior by design? Is there a workaround? I can't test with IE 11 right now...is this different in IE 11?
Hearing of some issues of the appcache clearing if your company utilizes gpo settings and has "empty temporary internet files folder when browser is closed" enabled.
Did you find the answer to this? I have the same problem. I did get a bit further though. I found that if you go to the IE10 File menu option and tick Work Offline then try and access your cached app it loads the page but I still have an issue as it does not appear to be using the javascript file that should also be cached. All works ok on Google Chrome but our clients are restricted to IE so Chrome is not an option.

Is there any API to disable prerender feature in chrome?

Without using automation, is there any way to programmatically disable prerender feature (Advanced Setting: Predict network actions to improve page load performance) in google chrome?
I couldn't find any straight forward API that allows me to modify this setting. So, I tried modifying dns_prefetchin->enabled in the "[Chromedir]\User Data\Default\Preferences" file to "false". But that value was getting reset every time I open Chrome. Using the Procmon utility didn't provide me any additional clues on where chrome may store its settings.
Thanks in advance.
Edit: I should mention upfront that using command line option --prerender won't work as I need this value to be turned off for all instances of chrome (even when launched by Operating system shell).
