I know this might be a very very basic and easy question to ask, but somehow I could not understand the difference between the two.
I googled a lot and read many things but could not find an answer to distinguish the two.
I was reading the FAQ'sof Cloudinary, which states that:
Cloudinary covers from image upload, storage
So my question is What is image upload vs image storage? Secondly, why do we upload the images?
As a normal user, I understand that upload is transferring files to different systems, but what is the use in cloudinary then?
Your assumption is correct upload is transferring files from one system(Local drive, different URL, other storage in a cloud (S3)) to diffrent system, for example Cloudinary storage.
Image storage is the place that the image is and the amount of storage that they take.
So, for example, if I have an image A.jpg on my local drive in my computer. And that image is 100KB. I can upload it to my Cloudinary (Storage in the cloud) and After I upload it to my Cloudinary account I can check my storage and I'll see that I have 100KB in my storage.

Cloudinary is a cloud-based service, and as such, in order to use their image management solutions such as image manipulation, optimization and delivery, you have to upload your images to the cloud. Images uploaded to Cloudinary are stored in the cloud utilizing Amazon's S3 service.

As you said, uploading is transferring a file to a different system. With cloudinary you can upload a local file, upload a file using a remote HTTP(s) URL or upload a file from S3 bucket.
In conclusion, Cloudinary isn't just a cloud storage service, we upload images to Cloudinary so that we can perform all kinds of image manipulations to images.

I am developing a service in which two different cloud storage providers are involved. I am trying to copy data from S3 bucket to GCS.
To access the data I have been offered signedUrls, and to upload the data to GCS I also have signedUrls available which allow me to write content into a specified storage path;
Is there a possibility to move this data "in cloud"? Downloading from S3 and uploading the content to GCS will create bandwidth problems;
I must also mention that this is a on-demand job and it only moves a small number of files. I can not do a full bucket transfer;

You can use Skyplane to move data across clouds object stores. To move a single file from S3 to Google Cloud, you can use the command:
skyplane cp gcs://<BUCKET>/<FILE> s3://<BUCKET>/<FILE>
I wanted to know if it would be possible to stream video while you are uploading it.
For example I have a 100MB video uploading to s3, the first 50MB are uploaded, so can a client start reproducing the video through cloudfront even tho it's not yet fully uploaded?
Or does S3 first wait for the upload to completely finish, then assemble the video file, and then publish it?

S3 provides read-after-write consistency for PUTS of new objects. The data will not be able to read until the write is complete.

is that if you make a HEAD or GET request to the key name (to find if

You could use Microsoft Azure Storage Page or Append Blobs to solve this:
1) Begin uploading the large data
2) Concurrently download small ranges of data (no greater than 4MB so the client library can read it in one chunk) that have already been written to.
Page Blobs need to be 512 byte aligned and can be read and written to in a random access pattern, whereas AppendBlobs need to be written to sequentially in an append-only pattern.
As long as you're reading sections that have already been written to you should have no problems. What is the size of data that can be sent using the GET PUT methods to store and retrieve data from amazon s3 cloud and I would also like to know where I can learn more about the APIs available for storage in Amazon S3 other than the documentation that is already provided.
The PUT method is addressed in the respective Amazon S3 FAQ How much data can I store?:
The total volume of data and number of objects you can store are
unlimited. Individual Amazon S3 objects can range in size from 1 byte
to 5 terabytes. The largest object that can be uploaded in a single
PUT is 5 gigabytes. For objects larger than 100 megabytes, customers
should consider using the Multipart Upload capability. [emphasis mine]
As mentioned, Uploading Objects Using Multipart Upload API is recommended for objects larger than 100MB already, and required for objects larger than 5GB.
The GET method is essentially unlimited. Please note that S3 supports the BitTorrent protocol out of the box, which (depending on your use case) might ease working with large files considerably, see Using BitTorrent with Amazon S3:

we are running a product oriented service, that requires us to daily download and resize thousands and thousands of photos from various web sources and then upload them to Amazon's S3 bucket and use Cloud Front to serve them...
now the problem is that downloading and resizing is really resource consuming and it would take a lot of hours to process them all...
What we are looking for is a service, that would do this for us fast and of course for a reasonable price...
anybody knows such a service? I tried to google it but don't really know how to form the search to get what I need
