Bean Validation with JAX-RS (rest-easy): parameter name not recognized - jax-rs

I'm using JAX-RS resources with Bean Validation and integration between these two works as expected.
However, the default error messages generated in case of a validation error report parameter names as arg0, like so

Is there an easy way to fix this, e. g. somehow provide an explicit name for that parameter?
I'm using WildFly Swarm 2017.6.0. From what I found out this means I have resteasy + resteasy-validator + hibernate-validator

You could try to compile your app with -parameters or instruct your IDE to do so, e.g. in case of
eclipse: preferences -> java -> compiler -> "store information about method parameters (usable via reflection)"
With that in place you then need to instruct the Bean Validation infrastructure (e.g. ) hibernate-validator to
use the ReflectiveParameterNamer via META-INF/validation.xml.

To get paranamer working with wildfly I needed to create a parameter-namer jboss-module
and reference that module from the module.xml of the hibernate-validator module.
With that in place I could simply write:

There is a very simple solution: you can set your own error message in the constraint definition as follows

If you want a more generic solution based on the JAX-RS parameter annotations you can implement your own simple ParameterNamProvider and register it in validation.xml as follows. This has the advantage of not having to change the jboss module structure. I also didn't have to change any compiler flags...

Note that you can also customize how the error message is formatted by implementing your own MessageInterpolator and registering it in the validation.xml

Can you try to implement an exception mapper for ConstraintViolationExceptions and see if the information you have there (the list of constraint violations) can help you to obtain the parameter name?

gRPC doesn't seem to generate client side code needed for accessing service

I am exploring gRPC by downloading and following the PortfoliosSample from here.
The sample code are all working fine. When I tried to create my own simple service and client by following the sample, however, I noticed that the generated code on the client side doesn't include the class and functions needed for accessing the service.
In the PortfoliosSample, the client side code generated based on the portfolios.proto includes and class named PortfoliosClinet (in PortfoliosGrpc.cs)

Various functions (such as Get, in the class) are available for client side program to use for invoking the service.
In my generated code, BrokerGrpc.cs, there is no "GroupClient" class or anything similar in it. As a result, my client side code cannot use the generated code to access the service. What am I missing?

Spring SpEL to set RequestMapping path with a list

I want to programmatically set the paths on a rest service. I have this bean method which has all the paths.

This doesn't work because the spring method RequestMappingHandlerMapping.resolveEmbeddedValuesInPatterns(String[] patterns) takes the above SpEL as a single element array. I've checked the trace logs and all the element in the given list get concatenated .

How to find port of Spring Boot container when running a spock test using property server.port=0

Given this entry in application.properties:
server.port=0
which causes Spring Boot to chose a random available port, and testing a spring boot web application using spock, how can the spock code know which port to hit?
Normal injection like this:

The injection will work with Spock, as long as you've configured your spec class correctly and have spock-spring on the classpath. There's a limitation in Spock Spring which means it won't bootstrap your Boot application if you use #SpringApplicationConfiguration. You need to use #ContextConfiguration and configure it manually instead. See this answer for the details.
The second part of the problem is that you can't use a GString for the #Value. You could escape the $, but it's easier to use single quotes:

How do I achieve through Jboss Resteasy interceptors?

I am working on the Jboss Resteasy API to implement the REST services on Jboss server.I am new to this area. Can someone help me out here...
There is a Rest Service method with custom annotation(VRestAuto) like below.

Why not forget setting the enterpriseId value when the method is called and instead just inject the HttpServletRequest and use that to grab the session and value?

How to list JBoss AS 7 datasource properties in Java code?

I'm running JBoss AS 7.1.0.CR1b. I've got several datasources defined in my standalone.xml e.g.

I'm trying to access the information contained here within my code - specifically the connection-url and driver properties.
I've tried getting the Datasource from JNDI, as normal, but it doesn't appear to provide access to these properties:

ClientInfo and DatabaseMetadata from a Connection object from this Datasource also don't contain these granular, JBoss properties either.

I've looked at the IronJacamar interface org.jboss.jca.common.api.metadata.ds.DataSource, and its implementing class, and these seem to have accessible hooks to the information I require, but I can't find any information on how to create such objects with these already deployed resources within the container (only constructor on impl involves inputting all properties manually).
JBoss AS 7's Command-Line Interface allows you to navigate and list the datasources as a directory system. http://www.paykin.info/java/add-datasource-programaticaly-cli-jboss-7/ provides an excellent post on how to use what I believe is the Java Management API to interact with the subsystem, but this appears to involve connecting to the target JBoss server. My code is already running within that server, so surely there must be an easier way to do this?

What you're really trying to do is a management action. The best way to is to use the management API's that are available.

The only other way I can think of is to add module that relies on servers internals. It could be done, but I would probably use the management API first.
