vuejs: filters in external file? - vue.js

src/app.js looks like:
import Vue from 'vue'
import VueRouter from 'vue-router'
import VueResource from 'vue-resource';
Vue.use(VueRouter);
Vue.use(VueResource);
const app = require("./app.vue");
const f = require('./filters');
const router = new VueRouter({
routes: [
{name: 'home', path: '/', component: home}
]
});
new Vue({
router: router,
filters: f,
render: h => h(app)
}).$mount("#app");
src/filters/index.js looks like:
module.exports = {
season: (value) => {
return 'foo';
}
}
Using webpack to roll it up, but the filter doesn't work and Vue warns me like so:
build.js:830 [Vue warn]: Failed to resolve filter: season
(found in <Anonymous>)
How can I properly put my filters in a separate file?

You can loop all filters from an array created inside your file for example.
const filters =
[
{
name: 'season',
execute: (value) => { return 'foo'; }
}
]
export default filters
And in you main.js you do the loop,
import filters from './filters'
filters.forEach(f => {
Vue.filter(f.name, f.execute)
})
[]s

You are not registering that filter globally, you are only registering it to be used in the template of #app. But your app immediately renders the component, app.
To make the season filter available globally, use
Vue.filter("season", f.season)
in your app.js.
Or you can import the filters into the components that use them.

Its in vuejs 1.0. Two-way filter has been removed from vuejs 2.0.

Uncaught SyntaxError: The requested module '/node_modules/.vite/vue.js?v=535663ae' does not provide an export named 'default'

I'm using a js framework known as griptape(used for blockchain). I'm getting this error when trying to use the vue router.
import Vue from "vue"; //Error **does not provide an export named 'default'**
import VueRouter from "vue-router";
import Home from "../views/Home.vue";
Vue.use(VueRouter);
const routes = [
{
path: "/",
name: "Home",
component: Home,
},
{
path: "/about",
name: "About",
// route level code-splitting
// this generates a separate chunk (about.[hash].js) for this route
// which is lazy-loaded when the route is visited.
component: () =>
import(/* webpackChunkName: "about" */ "../views/About.vue"),
},
];
const router = new VueRouter({
routes,
});
export default router;
while my vue.d.ts file looks like this
import { CompilerOptions } from '#vue/compiler-dom';
import { RenderFunction } from '#vue/runtime-dom';
export declare function compile(template: string | HTMLElement, options?: CompilerOptions): RenderFunction;
export * from "#vue/runtime-dom";
export { }
router.d.ts file look like this
I think you are using Vue 3. You should check your vue-router version. If you just run npm i vue-router now, the version should be "^3.5.3". Try to use npm i vue-router#next to install newer version.
Then export router like this:
import {createRouter, createWebHistory} from 'vue-router'
const routes = [
{
path:'/',
name:"Home",
component:()=>import('./pages/Home.vue')
}
,
{
path:'/about',
name:"About",
component:()=>import('./pages/About.vue')
}
]
const router = createRouter({
history:createWebHistory(),
routes
})
export default router
You technically didn't ask a question I will try to explain the error. Your error states what you try to do, importing a default export from the module 'vue' which doesn't exist.
// some ts file
import Vue from "vue";
// the module
export default {}
If there should be a named export called 'Vue' you should write it as follows: import { Vue } from 'vue'

What's the easiest way to implement routes in vue.js?

I'm having a hard time understanding how to implemente routes in vue.js using the official guide, is there a way to maybe streamline the process?
You can use Vue router library. Here, components is the folder where vue components are added. The variable "path" refers to the url route.
This is a sample router file I created.
import Vue from "vue";
import Router from "vue-router";
Vue.use(Router);
export default new Router({
routes: [
{
path: "/",
component: () => import("#/components/Login"),
},
{
path: "/home",
name : "home",
component: () => import("#/components/Home"),
},
]
});
Please refer this document : https://v2.vuejs.org/v2/guide/routing.html
Also, import your router file into app initialisation.
import router from "./router";
new Vue({
router,
render: h => h(App)
}).$mount("#app");

Vue Router dependency missing

Hello apologise for my question could be very dummy but i was not able to find correct answer in google. I dont have access to this.$router in Vue. From what i found it says vue inject router as dependecy to every component. But still my this.$route do not shows up. I'm using Vue version 3.2.1 and vue-router 3.0.1 (selected from CLI when project it's generated). Im alowed to navigate tho. Everything seems to be correctly just this dependency $router i dont have access to it.
I tryed to research in google everything but unsuccessfully. What i found it was only that which says vue inject router as dependency to every component still unsucesfull to find as property to my class $router. Everything else works good tho, i mean router link, router view just property to reach params or query or redirect is missing.
How did you initialize your vue-router module with Vue ?
It should be like this :
import Vue from 'vue'
import VueRouter from 'vue-router'
// Include plugin
Vue.use(VueRouter)
// Initialize your router
const vueRouter = new VueRouter({
routes: [] // your routes
})
// Send your router to your Vue top component
const app = new Vue({
el: '#my-app',
router: vueRouter,
render: h => h(App)
})
import Vue from 'vue';
import './plugins/vuetify'
import App from './App.vue';
import router from './router';
import store from './store';
import './registerServiceWorker';
Vue.config.productionTip = false;
new Vue({
router,
store,
render: h => h(App),
}).$mount('#app');
And i have separate file with my routes:
import Vue from 'vue';
import Router from 'vue-router';
import Home from './views/Home.vue';
import Signin from './views/Users/Signin.vue';
import Signup from './views/Users/Signup.vue';
import Profile from './views/Users/Profile.vue';
import AddPlace from './views/WorldPlaces/AddPlace.vue';
import AllPlaces from './views/WorldPlaces/AllPlaces.vue';
import DetailsPlace from './views/WorldPlaces/DetailsPlace.vue';
Vue.use(Router);
export default new Router({
routes: [
{
path: '/',
name: 'home',
component: Home,
},
{
path: '/signup',
name: 'signup',
component: Signup
},
{
path: '/signin',
name: 'signin',
component: Signin
},
{
path: '/profile',
name: 'profile',
component: Profile
},
{
path: '/places/add',
name: 'addplace',
component: AddPlace
},
{
path: '/places/all',
name: 'allplaces',
component: AllPlaces
},
{
path: '/places/details/:id',
name: 'detailsplace',
component: DetailsPlace
}
// {
// path: '/about',
// name: 'about',
// // route level code-splitting
// // this generates a separate chunk (about.[hash].js) for this route
// // which is lazy-loaded when the route is visited.
// component: () => import(/* webpackChunkName: "about" */ './views/About.vue'),
// },
],
mode: 'history'
});

Why isn't router.currentRoute.path reactive?

I have an app which is contained in this div:
<div id="app" v-bind:style='{backgroundColor: backgroundColor}'>
... the app ...
</div>
The routing is done following the example in the documentation (this is a webpack project):
import Vue from 'vue/dist/vue.js'
import VueRouter from 'vue-router'
import ComponentOne from './component1.vue'
import ComponentTwo from './component2.vue'
Vue.use(VueRouter)
const routes = [{
path: '/foo',
component: ComponentOne
},
{
path: '/bar',
component: ComponentTwo
}
]
const router = new VueRouter({
routes // short for `routes: routes`
})
const app = new Vue({
router,
data: {
day: "Monday"
},
computed: {
backgroundColor: function () {
console.log(JSON.stringify(router.currentRoute))
if (router.currentRoute.path == "/foo") {
return "green"
} else {
return "blue"
}
}
}
}).$mount('#app')
I wanted the background to be dependent on the current route (router.currentRoute.path).
But, the solution above does not work, because router.currentRoute.path is not detected by the Vue instance as having changed (is not reactive).
What is the correct way to access the dynamic router data from within the Vue instance?
The router object created via new VueRouter is not reactive because Vue has no way to know to watch and update any object outside of its scope.
Passing router in the Vue config object is what allows the current route to be watched, but you need to reference it via this.$route:
if (this.$route.path == "/foo") {
...
}
You can also access the entire router object via this.$router, but its data is not reactive.
And if you are using Vue 2 with composition api setup() approach you can do this:
import { computed } from '#vue/composition-api'
export default {
setup (props, context) {
const params = computed ( () => context.root.$route.params)
const path = computed( () => context.root.$route.path)
I found on Vue's documentation page that tracks the router using watch for transition animations. Not sure if this is a best practice but you can use to.path or from.path to grab the path instead.
// then, in the parent component,
// watch the `$route` to determine the transition to use
watch: {
'$route': (to, from) => {
const toDepth = to.path.split('/').length
const fromDepth = from.path.split('/').length
this.transitionName = toDepth < fromDepth ? 'slide-right' : 'slide-left'
}
}

Vue Router router-view error

I'm getting the following error when trying to implement vue-router.
Unknown custom element: <router-view> - did you register the component correctly? For recursive components, make sure to provide the "name" option.
Where do I need to provide the name option?
A lot of the tutorials I'm looking at seem to be an older version of vue-router. I follow the set-up process but can't get it to work.
Might there be something special I have to do when using the webpack cli template?
I'm also using the vue-router cdn.
Here's my main.js
import Vue from 'vue'
import App from './App'
import ResourceInfo from '../src/components/ResourceInfo'
var db = firebase.database();
var auth = firebase.auth();
const routes = [
{ path: '/', component: App },
{ path: '/info', component: ResourceInfo }
]
const router = new VueRouter({
routes
})
/* eslint-disable no-new */
var vm = new Vue({
el: '#app',
components: { App },
created: function() {
firebase.auth().onAuthStateChanged(function(user) {
if (user) {
// Get info for currently signed in user.
console.log(user);
vm.currentUser = user;
console.log(vm.currentUser);
} else {
// No user is signed in.
}
})
// Import firebase data
var quizzesRef = db.ref('quizzes');
quizzesRef.on('value', function(snapshot) {
vm.quizzes = snapshot.val();
console.log(vm.quizzes);
})
var resourcesRef = db.ref('resources');
resourcesRef.on('value', function(snapshot) {
vm.resources.push(snapshot.val());
console.log(vm.resources);
})
var usersRef = db.ref('users');
usersRef.on('value', function(snapshot) {
vm.users = snapshot.val();
console.log(vm.users);
})
},
firebase: {
quizzes: {
source: db.ref('quizzes'),
asObject: true
},
users: {
source: db.ref('users'),
asObject: true
},
resources: db.ref('resources')
},
data: function() {
return {
users: {},
currentUser: {},
quizzes: {},
resources: []
}
},
router,
render: h => h(App)
})
And my App.vue
<template>
<div id="app">
<navbar></navbar>
<resource-info :current-user="currentUser"></resource-info>
<router-view></router-view>
</div>
</template>
<script>
import Navbar from './components/Navbar'
import ResourceInfo from './components/ResourceInfo'
export default {
name: 'app',
props: ['current-user'],
components: {
Navbar,
ResourceInfo
}
}
</script>
<style>
</style>
In your main.js file, you need to import VueRouter as follows:
import Vue from "vue" // you are doing this already
import VueRouter from "vue-router" // this needs to be done
And below that, you need to initialize the router module as follows:
// Initialize router module
Vue.use(VueRouter)
Other than the above, I cannot find anything else missing in your code, it seems fine to me.
Please refer to the installation page in docs, under NPM section:
http://router.vuejs.org/en/installation.html
First install vue router by using "npm install vue-route" and follow the bellow in main.js
import Vue from 'vue'
import Router from 'vue-router'
import App from './App'
import ResourceInfo from '../src/components/ResourceInfo'
var db = firebase.database();
var auth = firebase.auth();
Vue.use(Router)
var router = new Router({
hashbang: false,
history: true,
linkActiveClass: 'active',
mode: 'html5'
})
router.map({
'/': {
name: 'app',
component: App
},
'/info': {
name: 'resourceInfo',
component: ResourceInfo
}
})
// If no route is matched redirect home
router.redirect({
'*': '/'
});
// Start up our app
router.start(App, '#app')
This might be solve your problem
You forgot to import vue-router and initialize VueRouter in main.js
import VueRouter from "vue-router"
Vue.use(VueRouter)
