What is "%TEMP%\Encoding Time.csv" on Windows? - malware

Does anyone know what app is writing to file "%TEMP%\Encoding Time.csv"? The file is constantly growing. Searching Internet did not yield any meaningful results. Below is an example of the records in the file.
0x1B959F08, 37033756854966440, 11792153, 11792156, 3, 640x360
0x1B959F08, 37033756855766744, 11792232, 11792236, 4, 640x360
0x1B959F08, 37033756856405856, 11792303, 11792306, 3, 640x360

I have also come across this file, I discovered it is created by Skype for Business by deleting the file and having it re-create during a skype video meeting. I'm not sure why it is created or how to disable it though.

Seems like Microsoft Teams can create this too (since the video conference is based on Skype). This showed up for me after I set a custom background.
Sample line:
0x0000024088504A10, 37960914834869640, 204351, 204361, 10, 1920x1080
The last column is the dimensions of the background image.

The "Encoding Time.csv" is created by Skype and/or Microsoft Teams. It appears to be some kind of debug information for video/screen rendering.
It is safe to delete manually, or can also be removed during Disk Cleanup if "Temporary Files" is checked.

Xcode / AppleScript / Objective-C (AppDelegate.applescript)

I am having a lot of issues following this video tutorial. I'm getting hung up on the AppDelegate.applescript file. AppleScript Facelift
Here are the steps I'm taking:
1. Create a new project
2. Then I choose "App"
3.1 Options for interface
3.2 Options for Language
Save to file location - can't attach an image due to limit
5. "Template" files created
6. I can add frameworks and libraries (not sure if this is necessary? im doing things blindly...)
7. Then these are the AppDelegate files. (note- I can change the identity and type in the top right fields. if I select AppleScript Uncompiled Source, it does not change the extension)
I've tried creating a new "blank file" and saving it as AppDelegate.applescript, but I don't think this is working. Can someone point me in the right direction???
I've been working on an AppleScript project which works with my Apple Music. Someone mentioned I should look into Objective-C AppleScript, but this is making no sense. I think my end goal is having a window that allows more flexibility with input...
Thanks in advance!
The answer: I was taking a very dated approach to this and asking the wrong question.#has's suggestion to look at his project Swift-AppleScriptObjC is exactly what I needed.

IE11 Windows 7 Print issue after kb4021558

Apologies for the slightly vague question but I'm pulling my hair out. Since this update we have had numerous calls regarding printing from our web app. Our web app uses an iframe and we use css #media print to hide all but this iframe for printing purposes. Since the update the user receives an Error 404--Not Found instead of the actual page. It would seem from the network trace that IE creates a temp .htm file in the local directory like D3CD911.htm, it then downloads css/js resources and then finally it makes this call /D3CD911.htm. This is making a call to www.mywebsite.co.uk/D3CD911.htm. This obviously does not exist on the website so the 404 is returned.
I struggling to find a pattern to the problem and it doesn't seem to be affecting other public sites. I think the issue is with window.print() method. I can semi reproduce it here at https://www.primefaces.org/showcase/ui/misc/printer.xhtml. If you click the print button you will get the error. Although this is using the jqprint javascript function if you then use the browser print button it also fails.
Any guidance would be much appreciated.
andyfinch, you're a genius! The following code appears to work for a print button contained within a frame:
function Print() {
if (document.queryCommandSupported('print')) {
document.execCommand('print', false, null);
}
else {
window.parent.<framename>.focus();
window.print();
}
}
Update:
Microsoft have now released a patch: Microsoft IE patch
Just wanted to summarise the workarounds I've found and which have been posted here.
1) If you are using your own print button change to use document.execCommand('print', false, null);. Test support using document.queryCommandSupported('print') and call window.print() if not supported (Prob just Firefox)
2) Use Print Preview. Additionally select the part of the page to print, right click and select print preview. Then select As selected on screen.
3) Use another browser like Chrome
4) Uninstall the update
5) Wait for Microsoft fix. Their KB page KB Link has been updated with this as a known issue. Therefore you assume a fix is on the way.
andyfinch's workaround is also working for us. Thanks Andy!
MS has flagged this issue with "WON'T FIX" (6/15/17): https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/platform/issues/12349663/ Update: that flag might just indicate that it's not an issue with MS Edge so it won't get fixed by the Edge developers.
Installing KB4021558 breaks printing from our website (the pages are blank, the footer shows some variant of "res://ieframe.dll/i273gyew.htm"). Uninstalling it restores printing functionality.
KB4021558 is also included in KB4022719, KB4022725 and KB4022727.
I found a workaround: if the iframe you're trying to print is visible, right click on it and choose Print preview... instead of Print... from the context menu. The preview seems to be printable (but may show only part of the frame contents).
Also, for the record, the problematic 64-bit Win7 update is KB4022719.
MS released updates yesterday (June 27th) that address it for Windows 10:
This non-security update includes quality improvements. No new
operating system features are being introduced in this update. Key
changes include:
• Addressed an issue introduced by KB4022715 where Internet Explorer
and Microsoft Edge printing from a frame may result in 404 not found
or blank page printed.

I grabbed them from the Windows Update Catalog today, to use with WSUS.
Heres the workaround I have been using for this in IE 11:
Right click frame and choose select all, or [ctrl + A] in the frame
Right click and choose print preview
There should be an option in your preview for "As selected on screen". Choosing this allowed me to print everything in the frame.
We were having multiple frames in the print screen and calling document.execCommand('print', false, null); could not fix our issue. Instead window.parent[frameName].document.execCommand('print', false, null); fixed it.

How can a DCR file create a text file

I have just creating a game that is played on the web (with shockwave player DCR)
I wanted to make HIGHSCORE.txt lingo, for the game.
As for projector.exe: I can use getpref and setpref lingo command, no problem.
But for the game DCR on the web, the getpref and setpref seemed to be not working,
There's no highscore.txt created within the web folder. What should I do?
getpref() and setpref() do generally work well in Shockwave, I'm don't know what folder you are looking for the text file in but according to the Adobe docs here is where the text file is saved:
Windows Shockwave
..\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Adobe\Shockwave Player \Prefs\
MAC Shockwave
~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Shockwave Player/Prefs
setpref() can fail if the user is running in an environment with especially restrictive security settings but that is rare. Full docs here http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Director/11.5/UsingScripting/WSc3ff6d0ea77859461172e0811d64c1a1b3-7ecf.html

Visual Basic 2010- Retrieving images using code

I am making a card game. I have 53 images for the cards and one for the back of the cards. Is there a way I can use the resource file or is there a way I can reference the folder where the program is being held with it still being relatively portable so I can move the folder and the program will still work perfectly. I thought about using a case statement and using the
My.Resources._8Hearts 'For Example
but that would take up a lot of space that I am sure can be avoided. I know this can be used to grab an image:
card1.image = System.Drawing.Image.FromFile("C:\" & variable_so_I_can_get_multiple_cards & ".png")
And using a 'for' statement to place each card in a different slot on the form
Thank you for the help
PictureBox1.Image = Image.FromFile(picPath) can retrieve an image for you,no need to add to resources in VB,and im sure u have worked with Strings so you can dynamically attach the name of each picture name (and I think also extension,.PNG seems to work best for me).
If you need it to move with the installation folder find out what your application path is using MessageBox.Show(Application.StartupPath) and then place a folder of your pictures in there and when publishing don't forget to include the folder yah? And Inno Setup (http://www.jrsoftware.org/isdl.php) is a good publishing tool...so I hear,never used it before.

NSUbiquitousKeyValueStore error : "com.mycompany.myappname" has no valid com.apple.developer.ubiquity-kvstore-identifier entitlment

I set the entitlements file correctly.
I'm getting the cloud url.
the error happen after im trying to save values in the keyValue store.
I can write and read from the NSUbiquitousKeyValueStore,
But after the method finished, I got the error I wrote in the title of the question.
this error happen on ipad 1,
when compiling the same project to the iphone, it works ok without error.
This usually happens when you download your app from the AppStore and update it using XCode.
Have a look at the "Recommended Testing Procedure" in Technote 2285
Are you using different targets for iPhone and iPad versions of your app? Check your entitlements file and make sure it has the correct values for organization all targets.
You might also want to do a text search in your projects folder and see if any files contain the line "com.mycompany.myappname".
