$router.replace() doesn't update browser query string - vuejs2

The problem is that the query string does not show up in the browser's URL bar.
The code updates the query string in order to keep track of a product configuration.
There are two methods - the first one chooses the model and the second one sets options for that model. Here's the code (the values for the query string are placeholders now):
Methods:
chooseModel (option) {
this.$router.replace({
path: this.$route.path,
query: {m: 'model'},
})
},
choose (option) {
if (!this.selectedModel) return
let opt = {}
opt[option] = option
this.$router.push({ // I've tried push and replace
path: this.$route.path,
query: Object.assign(this.$route.query, opt),
})
},
Computed:
selectedModel () {
return this.$route.query.m
},
When chooseModel is invoked the query string that the browser displays shows up as it should: http://localhost:8080/custom/?m=model. But when choose is invoked the query string that the browser displays remains the same.
FWIW, I have changed the code in chooseModel to set multiple query string values and they all show up. Apparently it is trying to modify that value that causes problems.
Using the debugger I can see that $route.query is correct - it reflects the changes I've made to the query.
I seen the same behavior with both Firefox and Chrome, so it apparently isn't browser-specific.
What do I need to do to get the browser to display the updated query string?

This is my bug but strange behavior nonetheless.
Because a route is immutable Object.assign() is not able to modify it. What is odd is that after my attempt to modify the query string the new route object showed the values I was attempting to set even though the browser didn't display them.
The fix is simple - don't try to modify the route object:
query: Object.assign({}, this.$route.query, opt)

Vue: Setting Data by matching route query

I'm attempting to set data fields provided by an array based on the Vue Router query. For example, when someone lands on my website using example.com/?location=texas, I want to set the location data by an array.
An example the array:
locations {
{
slug: "texas",
tagline: "Welcome to Texas",
}, {
slug: "california",
tagline: "Welcome to California",
}
}
I know this should be done using a computed property, however I am unable to get anything functioning. I've tried simple tests like if (this.slug.location === "texas"), and I cannot get the location data to populate. I would also like to provide default data in case there are no route matches.
Any help is extremely appreciated!
Edit:
I can accomplish this in a very manual way. Right now, I'm setting the query in data by the following:
slug: this.$route.query.location
I can display specific text by doing something like:
h3(v-if="slug === 'texas'") This will show for texas
h3(v-else-if="slug === 'california'") This will show for California
h3(v-else) This is default
The issue with this approach is there are various elements I need to customize depending on the slug. Is there any way I can create an array, and move whichever array matches a key in an array to the data??
You should be able to access a query param using the following (link to Vue Router documentation):
this.$route.query.location
So based on what you listed I would do something like...
export default {
computed: {
displayBasedOnLocationQueryParam() {
switch(this.$route.query.location) {
case 'texas':
return 'Welcome to Texas'
default:
return 'hello there, generic person'
}
}
}
}
Note that I'm not using your array explicitly there. The switch statement can be the sole source of that logic, if need be.

vuejs this.$route issue with address bar

When I remove a parameter, It does not take effect in address bar.
I tried following line to remove parameter from URL.
delete this.$route.query[parameter_name];
See below url, Notice following things.
In console query object is empty but address bar having all parameters.
I tried following lines to remove applicants and branches parameters from URL. It only effected in console as you can see query object is empty but URL is still there.
delete this.$route.query['applicants'];
delete this.$route.query['branches'];
But still address bar is having all removed params.
donate#/?applicants=Female&branches=2207962
Using delete will delete the property but will not update the address bar.
You need to specify a redirect programmatically. See Programmatic Navigation.
You can use
this.$router.push('donate')
Or
this.$router.replace('donate')
to replace the current history entry (see comment from #thanksd)
This will work with $router.push or $router.replace to clear the query string.
Clear the query string inside a component lifecycle hook.
mounted() {
this.$router.replace({ query: { '': null } });
}
Clear the query string on redirect.
$router.push({ path: 'url-path', query: { '': null } })
$router.replace({ path: 'url-path', query: { '': null } })
Remove old query string values and replace with new values.
$router.push({path: 'url-path', query: {'': null, lastname: 'Ever', firstname: 'Greatest'}})
$router.replace({ path: 'url-path', query: { '': null token: 'coolToken' })

Can't obtain iteration 'Theme' in Rally app (2.0RC3)

I'm modifying the IterationSummary app from the 2.0RC3 SDK, and adding more iteration info to it. For some reason, I am not able to retrieve the 'Theme' for the iteration, although I am able to query for other fields from the iteration object. Starting with the sample, I simply added the following lines #192
{
cls: 'theme',
html: iteration.get('Theme')
},
I can get 'Name' but I can't get the 'Theme' value even though it is clearly set on the iteration, and I verified that value using the REST API to query that same iteration. And querying other fields such as 'Name' works well. Any idea why 'Theme' is not being returned?
Do you fetch 'Theme' ?
You may see a general example that builds a grid of iterations that fall within a release (selected in the releasecombobox) that has Theme column populated as long as an iteration has a theme entered is in this github repo.
This example is different from the IterationSummary app because in my example I explicitly create Rally.data.wsapi.Store for Iteration object and fetch Theme.
Customizing the IterationSummary app will still require explicit fetching of Theme field, but you are correct that it is not obvious from the IterationSummary app how other fields are being fetched, e.g. State of iteration. The iteration object in that app is returned from this.getContext().getTimeboxScope().getRecord() and if you print out that object in the console, theme will be empty. The fields that exist on this.getContext().getTimeboxScope().getRecord() are limited and cannot be customized for performance reasons.
In order to modify this app to display Theme, the Iteration model has to be accessed and Theme fetched explicitly. Here are the steps I took to modify the app:
added getTheme function:
getTheme: function(){
var iteration = this.getContext().getTimeboxScope().getRecord();
return iteration.self.load(iteration.getId(), {
fetch: ['Theme']
});
}
In rc3 every time when we have a record, .self will give its model, so there is no need to do this manually:
Rally.data.ModelFactory.getModel({
type: 'Iteration',
//...
Note fetch: ['Theme']
Next, inside _addContent method getTheme() is called
return Deft.Promise.all([this.getTheme(), this.calculateTimeboxInfo()]).then({
success: function(results) {
var theme = results[0].get('Theme');
and then finally theme variable's value is passed to:
{
cls: 'theme',
html: theme
}
The full code is available in this github repo.

set jqGrid page before url is called

I am looking for a way to set the page of a jqGrid to x...
My use case is someone is using my grid...
They click on a patient to edit that patient (I am not using jqGrids modal edit screen... to many modal windows already)...
When the save what they did to that patient, I want to redirect the browser back to the screen where they clicked on that patient, and back to the SAME PAGE...
The thing to keep in mind.
I am using asp.net MVC4. I call the first page via an action method. The url variable of my grid is another action in the same controller. That action is what I send my page and row variables down to. I am sure that this can be done, However, I have no idea of how to achieve it. So far I have tried to set the page variable and rows variable in my document.ready before I call the jqGrid...
tbl.jqGrid({
loadBeforeSend: function () {
page: pageFromTemp;
rows: rowFromTemp
}
});
basically I have tried different ways to do it. The above is just one of them.
I have tried to reload the grid in the document.ready. But that doesn't make any sense. Why reload the grid when you haven't given it any of the parameters it needs...
I have tried to set the variable in the beforeRequest event. I have a function that I try and set it in...
beforeRequest: function () {
if ((rowFromTemp != "") && (pageFromTemp != "")) {
$(this).trigger('reloadGrid', [{ page: pageFromTemp, rowNum: rowFromTemp, url: '/Encounters/GetAjaxPagedGridData/' }]);
//$.extend($(this).setGridParam({ page: pageFromTemp })),
//$.extend($(this).setGridParam({ rowNum: rowFromTemp })),
//$.extend($(this).setGridParam({ url: '/Encounters/GetAjaxPagedGridData/' }))
//$.trigger('reloadGrid', [{ page: pageFromTemp, rowNum: rowFromTemp, url: '/Encounters/GetAjaxPagedGridData/'}]);
}
},
But that doesn't work either. I am obviously missing something. What am I doing wrong...
Got it to change to the right page using loadComplete and $("frTable").trigger({})
But now I am getting a flashing Loading screen which indicates to me that it is still loading the data...
If I set a breakpoint in my code, I can confirm that it is loading the data. I am not doing something right here.
Load the grid in document ready, have it's datatype set to local, have it's url unassigned, and have it hidden. When you want to have it load, trigger the load after setting the parameters and then show it to the user.

client web - how to get current record id at any time

I'm trying to work on the "different permissions based on workflow state" issue but I'm struggling with the fact that it seems impossible to get the id of the current object 'at any time' that is necessary in order to get the permission of that object. What I mean is that I manage to get it from the client state following jquery bbq docs like:
$.bbq.getState().id
BUT it looks like this is doable only AFTER a complete page load. I investigated this by placing some alert in the main view events, like:
openerp.web.PageView = openerp.web.PageView.extend({
on_loaded: function(data) {
this._super(data);
alert('page load ' + $.bbq.getState().id);
},
do_show: function() {
this._super();
alert('page show ' + $.bbq.getState().id);
},
reload: function() {
this._super();
alert('page reload ' + $.bbq.getState().id);
},
on_record_loaded: function(record) {
this._super(record);
alert('record loaded ' + $.bbq.getState().id);
}
});
and I found that when you open the page view (by clicking on an item in a search view, for instance) you get always "undefined".
Then, you get it into "reload" and "on_record_loaded" when passing from an object to another using paged navigation. And then, you miss it again when you click on the "edit" button.
In the form view I successfully got it only on the 1st load because it seems that some caching is in-place. So that, if I place a pdb into web client's fields_view_get and I do this into the form "init_view":
var ids = [];
if ($.bbq.getState().id){
ids = [parseInt($.bbq.getState().id)];
}
console.log(ids);
return this.rpc("/web/view/load", {
"model": this.model,
"view_id": this.view_id,
"view_type": "form",
toolbar: this.options.sidebar,
context: context,
ids: ids,
}, this.on_loaded);
I get it only the 1st time that the page gets loaded. The same happen if I take ids from
this.dataset.ids
I looked anywhere at the core web module and I can't find a proper API for this and it looks weird (above all on dataset) that we don't have a proper way for getting/working on the current record/s. Even the context and the session do not have any information about that.
Probably I should store this into the view itself on 1st load...
Thanks in advance for any pointers.
try:
this.view.datarecord.id
OpenERP 7 in form view:
debugged using google chrome
Try the combination of the
this.dataset.ids and this.dataset.index
like
curr_id = this.dataset.ids[this.dataset.index]
this might solve your problem.
