I've had a request to modify the label content and orientation in a Spotfire bar horizontal chart. I know I can change the orientation of the bar value, but not the content, as well as change the content but not the orientation of label on the line I've added. However, I need to be able to change both the value and the orientation so that it looks something like the picture below.
Is this possible - either via the program or via scripting of some sort?
Thanks for any help,
Crystal

I am using Scribus 1.5.4
I want to create a PDF for a certificate format in which I can fill in the name of the person who got the certificate. I am using the text frame to fill in the name. I want the text frame to be visible to me but I dont want it to be printed on the certificate(i.e. print only the name).
I have set the borders of text frame to NONE and background color of the frame to white. But I want the text frame to be visible to me in the PDF BUT NOT print it. Does Scribus 1.5.4 provide any option like that?
A strange question.
The simple answer is: When you work in Scribus you will see a thin border around each frame and that frame will not show up in the PDF.
if you have disabled it in "View > Document > Show Frames", just re-enable it.
If you want more than that, you can also draw a rectangle in "behind" the text frame and mark the rectangle to be "non-printable". It's in the "XYZ" section of the "Window > Properties" palette.
I have a UIButton which is created programmatically (it can be customised from Interface Builder, though). It is a circular and it looks like this:
Now I'm working on Internationalization and I need to check it for Double-Length Pseudolanguage. The image above is taken when the app language is set to double-length pseudo, but as you can see, the button only shows one word. Here are the constraints of the button:
The title style of the button is plain, its text is centre-aligned, and the line break is set to "Word Wrap".
How to make the button keep its shape but to increase its size when needed (basically, to increase its width and height for the same amount, so it keeps being a circle), so for example, in this case to show two "Menu" words? If you know how to achieve this I would appreciate your help.
Try setting the content compression resistance on the button to required (1000) for horizontal and vertical. It will also depend on the stackViews above and below allowing for the size change.
How may I create the Area Bar like the below Image Bar on the Top and Bottom too for Area? I search a lot but didn't find it that how may I make it?
You can use rectangular marquee tool and fill the desired color.
Marquee tool have add and subtract option too by which you can make different shapes also according to your image.
The bar I’m looking for is the separator bar between the editor area and the debug area:
Specifically, I want the buttons to have no borders and I want to have the vertical separator (to the left of ‘No Selection’).
I haven’t done any AppKit stuff in Mountain Lion yet, so before I start implementing my own custom control, I was wondering if I have overlooked a new control (or options for existing controls), or otherwise if somebody has already implemented a custom control that does this?
Its just NSButtons with a custom background image (which is the silver effect) and the "Image" which is the control image.
A quick look inside Xcode.app/Contents/OtherFrameworks/DevToolsInterface.framework/Versions/A/Resources will show you the relevant images.
I'm trying to create a live tile for my application, using a user control.
The user control contains a grid, an image and a rectangle filled with color.
Now here comes the funny part.
I want the rectangle to act as a background for the tile's title, and the image to fill the rest of the tile. And i said to myself, well, lets put some rows in that grid and set the like you usually set them in a WPF/SL application.
I then write the entire thing in a WBM and save it to isostore.
The problem is, the parser seems to ignore the presence of grid's rows. regardless of what I try, the rectangle is not shown, and the image covers the full tile, when it should only cover the first row. It is as if the grid didn't even existed.
Another funny aspect is that it doesn't matter if I use rows or columns, the result is the same.
Any ideas?
Are you using the following method?
Dynamic LiveTile - adding background image?
I recently implemented a Live Tile using a Grid with Rows and Columns for layout of some TextBlocks. I encountered similar challenges, so I placed the control that I was using for my Live Tile on a blank page in my app to better see what was happening. Does the control render correctly when displayed on a page (versus being rendered to a WriteableBitmap)?
Another idea. Instead of trying to position the Rectangle relative to the tile's Title, why not leave the Title property blank and put the same text in a TextBlock within the user control?
If you are careful about the font and positioning of the TextBlock, the text on the resulting background image can appear indistinguishable from text displayed from the Title property. I decided to follow this strategy myself. I found the font information in the following answer:
Font size and family for a tile's title
Otherwise, could you post an example of the XAML you are using?
