UWP AdaptiveTrigger Not Triggering - xaml

I have the VisualStateManager inside the root grid, but it's not triggering the AdaptiveTrigger. I'm trying to change the textblock inside the StackPanel. Also, what are the rules on priority of VisualState setters over the default? For example, the textblock CreateNewAccount is using x:Uid to get a string resource, but when the setter tries to change the Text value, which one gets priority? Same with FontSize being set by a static resource style.

It is better to design for a small form factor, and use AdaptiveTrigger for larger widths and heights. Because I was doing the opposite, and testing on a smaller mobile screen, I was unable to see the changes. Here is the revised XAML:

XAML- VisualStateManager not working

I am working on a Universal Windows App. I need to adapt the layout according to the screen. To accomplish that, I am using a Visual State Manager. However, when I test the application, the layout does not change. I am not an expert on XAML, but I do not see anything wrong with my code.

Thanks for your help. By the way, I am new here, so I apologize if I broke any rules.
The states are not authored correctly. For example, this Setter:
<Setter Target="Spanish_Button.Foreground" Value="White"></Setter>
Instead, that should be something like:
<VisualState x:Name="Narrow">
<VisualState.StateTriggers>
<AdaptiveTrigger MinWindowWidth="0"/>
</VisualState.StateTriggers>
<Storyboard>
<ColorAnimation Duration="0" To="#FFCE0000" Storyboard.TargetProperty="(Control.Foreground).(SolidColorBrush.Color)" Storyboard.TargetName="Spanish_Button" d:IsOptimized="True"/>
</Storyboard>
</VisualState>
I agree with Matthais. Blend for Visual Studio might be a useful tool there and provides an easy WYSIWYG way to author these states.

UWP Visual State Manager doesn't see content of DataTemplate

My page structure is shown below.

</Charting:Chart>
</ScrollViewer>
</Grid>
</DataTemplate>
</Pivot.ItemTemplate>
</Pivot>
When I add setter for dateTB textblock into VisualState.Setters to move it to left side of Relative Panel, I get an error saying:
An animation is trying to modify an object named 'dateTB', but no such object can be found in the Page.
Code for adding the setter is:
<Setter Target="dateTB.(RelativePanel.AlignLeftWithPanel)" Value="True"/>
Is there a way to control this textblock through Visual State Manager with this page structure?
It's a problem of name scopes, common to all XAML UI frameworks. Your VSM is in the name scope of your UserControl or Page and the TextBlock is in a DataTemplate.
Romasz's solution to your problem to put the VSM inside of the DataTemplate puts everything you need in a single name scope and is the best solution to this problem.

Grid not covering all the screen in UWP app

Why my grid is not covering all the screen and how can i fix it? On the designer looks like it should be covering all the width of the screen, but actually leaves a big space on the rigth.
<Grid Background="GreenYellow">
<Grid.ColumnDefinitions>
<ColumnDefinition Width="*" />
</Grid.ColumnDefinitions>
<Grid.RowDefinitions>
<RowDefinition Height="200"/>
<RowDefinition Height="Auto"/>
<RowDefinition Height="Auto"/>
<RowDefinition/>
</Grid.RowDefinitions>
</Grid>
This code is only a snip, but even with childs the space its there on different sizes.
Edit 1:
Acoording to Luis C. answer i get the same result big empty space to the left:
I found a strange workaround to achieve what i want:
<Grid Background="Yellow">
<Grid.ColumnDefinitions>
<ColumnDefinition Width="*" />
</Grid.ColumnDefinitions>
<Grid.RowDefinitions>
<RowDefinition Height="200"/>
<RowDefinition Height="*"/>
<RowDefinition Height="*"/>
</Grid.RowDefinitions>
<Grid Grid.Row="0">
<TextBlock Text="This is a very large text that only is used to strech all the childrens to the infinite. This is a very large text that only is used to strech all the childrens to the infinite. This is a very large text that only is used to strech all the childrens to the infinite. This is a very large text that only is used to strech all the childrens to the infinite. This is a very large text that only is used to strech all the childrens to the infinite" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" />
<Button Content="Black" Background="Black" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" />
</Grid>
<Button Grid.Row="1" Content="Black" Background="Gray" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" />
<Button Grid.Row="2" Content="Black" Background="Blue" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" />
</Grid>
The result is:
Still its a very strange way to workaround the problem.

You just need to remove the "RowDefinition" without height and change the "Auto" Rows to "*".
Something like this:
<Grid Background="GreenYellow">
<Grid.ColumnDefinitions>
<ColumnDefinition Width="*" />
</Grid.ColumnDefinitions>
<Grid.RowDefinitions>
<RowDefinition Height="200"/>
<RowDefinition Height="*"/>
<RowDefinition Height="*"/>
</Grid.RowDefinitions>

<Button Grid.Row="1" Content="Black" Background="Gray" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" />
<Button Grid.Row="2" Content="Black" Background="Blue" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" />
</Grid>

XAML Element responsive width on Orientation change

I am building a Windows 8.1 Universal app. On the orientation change for the phone, the outer "Grid" element doesn't change in width when the phone is switched to Landscape mode (and vice versa if the app is originally opened in landscape - doesn't change width when orientation=portrait). The Width is bound to the PivotItem Width and the PivotItem fills the entire screen on orientation change but the Grid does not.
