Google Voice number doesn't work with Google Fabric? - google-fabric

I have been trying to create an account on digits with a Google Voice number. Whenever I enter my Google Voice phone number, the digits login screen simply shows an infinite loading icon. When checking the console, I see that a 403 message was generated for "digits (dot) com / sdk / login" and the following error message was returned:
"We cannot send a text message to this phone number because its operator is not supported".
The voice account was created about 12 hours ago.
I am not sure if Google Voice is supported, but now that Digits has been acquired by Google, I think its only logical that it should be supported.
It is important that I get this account to work, because I need it in order have a "developer account" for testers to use in the App Store review process.
I would like to know if there is anything that I can do about this, or if there is any type of help I can get from the team.

Seems pretty cut and dry there. A lot of services don't allow the use of a Google Voice number because it is a VOIP number. It is relatively easy to get a GV number, so some services block/don't whitelist their (and other VOIP's) numbers to prevent bots or mass accounts from abusing their services.
Whatever their reason is, it still doesn't work. As for actually getting it to work, I would contact the team and see if they can do anything, but it doesn't look like there is something you can do.

You're correct that there are a few different kinds of applications in Teams, so finding the one that suits your needs can be a little confusing at first. For what you're trying to do, I would recommend a Bot, and when it received a message (which it will do when it receives your #mention), it can respond with an Adaptive Cards. Adaptive Cards, if you've not used them, are like small embedded forms inside the chat. The user can complete the card and click a button, and it will send the payload back to your bot to do whatever it needs.
Bots, incidentally, are basically just web services, so your bot can do whatever it needs once it received the payload, such as calling another API in turn.

Verification Google OAuth2 concert scren with the apps for personal use only

I recently asked this question and user's #DalmTo and #Sergio NH they gave me an exhaustive answer for which I thank them very much.
Moving forward to question, we started publishing the application, and its verification was not required, since no scope was added (here it is a little unclear why the requests worked in an application with a test mode in which these scope were not added (google drive, google sheet and google ads)).
However, this time the application in the "In Production" mode began to give us an "Unverified app screen" (see Unverified app screen). We decided that we still need to add scope to the list, and, of course, that the scope list (their list is described above) requires verification by Google.
We started filling in the necessary fields, while studying the Google documentation at the same time, and came across the following information (see block Verification process -> What are the requirements for verification?):

And this is just our case: we have already received permission from Google Ads and are just generating simple reports that we want to integrate with Google Sheet. I.e., this is an elementary script that works within this account (however, we still need to request the first concert screen, even for this developer account) and cannot be distributed to any other accounts.
But when adding our scope, Google requires us to pass verification, forcing us to fill in the required fields, in the form of domains and their verification via the Search Console (we have already done this and this stage does not cause difficulties) and links to Youtube videos - where we must show how scope is used.
And just this stage is not clear. We do not allow other people's accounts to connect to this application, and the software does not have any interface, it is just a script that receives data from Google Ads and saves it to Google Sheet (creating a file via Google Drive). We have described all this in the scope usage description field. But the link to the Youtube video is require field, and we sincerely do not understand why (considering our case) we should record something, and most importantly, what exactly we should record in this case. If the documentation itself says that in our case we do not even need a verification.
Maybe we did not understand something and now we are doing it wrong? We will be glad to receive any tips from experts working with Google Cloud Console and apologize in advance for broken English.

It is true that if your app is a single use app then you do not need to be verified.
However if you don't get your app verified then there will be some restrictions.

your refresh tokens will probably only be good for two weeks.

If you can live with those points then you don't need to verify your app and you can continue as is.
If on the other hand you don't want to see the unverified app screen and you want a refresh token that will last longer then two weeks. You will need to verify your app. Yes, Even if your app is a console application running as a job some where you still show the consent screen. This is the YouTube video you will need to show Google. Show the consent screen popping up show the URL bar and then show your script running. You also need to set up the homepage and privacy policy screens. Yes i 100% agree with you that this is silly.
When you go though the process. Explain to google that this is a single use script running as a job some where.
Unfortunately when Google changed it so that Refresh tokens expire for unverified apps they pretty much tied the hands of all developers who are running such single user scripts. We now have to get our apps verified if we don't want to have to request a new refresh token every two weeks.
If your program needs to access the requested scopes of the Google account privacy, even though the user is yourself, you also need to provide a youtube video to demonstrate how you use this program. The auditor cannot guarantee whether you will make this program public.

Can't get access token for my Venmo acount

I'm trying to write a simple clientside script that used the venmo api to automate some aspects of my account. The first step is getting an access token by going to the developer tab on the settings page. However, whenever I click, "Get Token", the page just redirects me to my profile settings tab with no further information. Going back to the developer tab, nothing has changed, and I still don't have an access token. I've already filled in every aspect of my profile; my name, phone number, profile image, everything. I can't find anyone else with a similar problem. What am I doing wrong?
Unfortunately, the Venmo API is no longer available to new developers. I was having the same problem and reached out to them directly to confirm. The message I received from one of their support staff yesterday:
Thanks so much for your interest in Venmo! Unfortunately at this time we have discontinued accepting new users of our Developer API. We want to support all of our friends in the development community as much as we can, but at this time we are focusing our efforts towards expanding on our recent launch of the ability to use Venmo to purchase items in select merchant apps. Going forward this will allow us to provide many of the same capabilities previously powered by our Developer API in a more streamlined experience for users and developers alike. I apologize for the inconvenience.

SMS API that allows you to specify FROM?

I'm wanting to move away from using $phonenumber#$provider domain because it is too limited in usability.
Is there a SMS service with a good API (prefer HTTP/s, XML, JSON) that allows you to send from a specific phone number?
The reason I want it to come from a specific phone number is because I have a Google Voice number I use for my business...
Since you want to use your google voice phone number maybe you just want to send the SMS though google voice. One way to connect w/ google voice is to use the Asterisk software. You would use Asterisk to talk to google voice over the SIP protocal - documented here:

For example I did this and then I interface asterisk from ruby code and can make calls, sms, etc.
Twilio will let you set the FROM number to any Twilio number that you own. Of course, you'd have to give up your Google Voice phone number. I'm pretty sure you won't find any SMS service that allows you to set the FROM number to an arbitrary number (just think of the mess it would cause).

Programmatically get own phone number in Symbian

How to get the phone number of the device in Symbian?
According to the GSM specs, only the IMSI is required to be available on the SIM card.
The actual phone number MSISDN is stored on the HLR database in the operator's network and does not need to be available on the SIM card or transmitted to the phone.
So no matter what technology you are using (Symbina, Java ...) you can never count on being able to consistently get your own phone number from the device or SIM. You might be lucky if the operator stores it on the SIM or if the phone provides the user with a possibility to enter it manually, but it does not have to be this way.
As Pat has said, although there are APIs for accessing the "own number" slot on the SIM, rarely in my experience is this slot filled.
The usual strategy for obtaining the phone number for a connected application is to send an SMS as part of a verification process. Either:
Programatically send an SMS from the handset to your server (lots of good SMS gateway interconnect providers out there). The SMS will arrive at your server 'from' the number of the handset (or the SIM to be more correct). Of course the SMS should contain some token so the server can link it with a given session/user.
This has the advantage that you don't need the user to enter their own phone number (which is fraut with subtle difficulties given few folks understand how to format numbers in E.164 format). One disadvantage is that the process can cost your user money (one SMS).
Have the user enter their phone number (web site or on the handset) and connect to your server, passing that phone number. Have the handset then wait for an SMS to arrive that you send from your server. If this SMS does indeed arrive, you have verified the phone number they entered as correct and valid. Obvious disadvantage is that this relies on the user to enter their number correctly - again, given the plethora of ways of writing phone numbers around the world, its not as trivial as it sounds to normalise numbers to E.164....
Alas, neither of these methods are bullet-proof, particularly because SMS is an unconnected transport. Depending on GSM network load, the load of your gateway provider, phase of the moon and direction of window blowing an SMS can take a second to a month to arrive (yes, I do have experience of the latter). The mean delivery time is often in the seconds, but you do have to play with the operation timeout and might have to tweak it on a geographical and GSM network basis.
[And no, don't rely on delivery reports - even more unreliable than SMS delivery]
