Restricted Permissions - permissions

So I'm using Tableau 10 and Tableau server. I don't have direct control over the server side of things. But I have full control over the tableau dashboard.
My Issue:
Users need to download the data from workbooks. When they go to one particular workbook the option to download the data is not available:
They can however download it using the tool tips - but to download the entire data set in one go, they'd need to use the option button above.
Tableau server settings:
These look like they are fine. I also have another workbook in this area and that one does not experience this problem.
I am "Publisher" and my boss is "Owner" - she can see it but I can't. All of this suggests it's a workbook setting?! But where?!?

Once a user clicks into a sheet of your dashboard, the Data or Crosstab selections of the Download button will be activated. It is greyed out on dashboards because there could be multiple sheets.
One trick is to make a dedicated download sheet and upload it with the rest of your dashboard. If you upload just a sheet, then all selections on the Download button are available without the user needing to click into anything.

On a published dashboard, if you click on a worksheet on the dashboard, the download links become available. This will avoid the need to upload the worksheet separately.

How can I export to a spreadsheet with Google BigQuery?

I am using Google Big Query's new UI. So how can I export the results of sql on a spreadsheet? I can export it by switching the screen to the old UI, but it seems that it can not be export with the new UI.The result will be returned as follows.
https://drive.google.com/open?id=undefined

thanks.
Please make sure you are exporting aggregated/limited data instead of exporting huge raw data. It's working & pretty straightforward in the new UI.
You can go to save results & select google sheets to export aggregated data.
Save notification
Once you click open, it will take you to the respective sheet
Saving query results to Google Sheets
To save query results to Google Sheets:
1- Go to the BigQuery web UI.
2- Click the Compose Query button.
3- Enter a valid BigQuery SQL query in the New Query text area.
4- Click Show Options.
5- (Optional) For Processing Location, click Unspecified and choose your data's location.
6- Click Run Query.
7- When the results are returned, click the Save to Google Sheets button above the query results.
8- If necessary, follow the prompts to log into your Google account and click Allow to give BigQuery permission to write the data to your Google Drive MY Drive folder. After following the prompts, you should receive an email with the subject "BigQuery Client Tools connected to your Google Account". The email contains information on the permissions you granted along with steps to remove the permissions.
9- When the results are saved, a message like the following appears above the query results in the BigQuery web UI: Results saved to Google Sheets. Click to view. Click the link in the message to view your results in Google Sheets, or navigate to your MY Drive folder and open the file manually. When you save query results to Google Sheets, the file name begins with results-[DATE] where [DATE] is today's date in the format YYYYMMDD.

How to use vba to switch between open tabs in Lotus Notes?

I'm currently trying to generate multiple forms in lotus notes via VBA in a specific database and send them for processing. Due to several notes scripts running when creating/processing the various forms, the only theoretical way that I can imagine this to work would be to have the user open a form, so that the VBA script can tell it to do copies through a button in the form (via the Windows API), then cycle through the open forms, fill them out and submit them one by one.
So far so good, but I'd need to be able to cycle through all the open forms in Notes in order to find the form I want to fill out and set is as active window. I can't seem to find any API that allows a user to go through all the open tabs in a notes window. Would anyone be able to help me on this one, please?
Many thanks in advance.
What you want to do is not possible. There is no way to "cycle" windows via code in Lotus Notes / IBM Notes.
Better turn around your processing: Instead of opening a form for editing just fill it in the backend. Then you don't need Windows API- calls and the Clipboard at all.
of course you can open the filled form afterwards to let the user fill in additional information, but this is not necessary at all as you can also save the document in backend.

Only I am able to save a macro-enabled workbook?

All, I have created a workbook that has some macros in it to import data. The idea is that the file is a master file, and every time you import data with it, it is supposed to place that data on the end of the existing data, and then you save it and move on.
The problem is, I am the only user that can save the workbook. Now, two of the sheets in my workbook I have protected, so that they cannot be edited. I have done this so that nothing can accidentally be removed (buttons, instructions, notes, etc). My users have agreed that this protection is a good thing.
But what I think is happening is our network is making anyone who didn't author this file open it as Read Only, and then they cannot save to it. I first thought maybe if added a save macro (and command button) that it would fix it. No dice.
Next, I had the workbook unprotect, and then re-protect itself when the user clicks the save button. Nope, still opening as Read Only.
I then put code in the Workbook_Open() Sub that changed it from Read Only to Read Write. This caused a box to popup when opening the sheet that said the file was in use by "Another User," and it was locked for editing.
The last thing I tried was adding the other users as Authors to the workbook. And it STILL opens as a Read Only file.
I think this has to do with the network settings here in our office (well, corporate-wide, but anyway). These are policies that cannot be changed. Can anyone help me find a work-around that allows my sheets to be locked for editing, but allows my users to save to my workbook?
You can see here that I have added three other users as Authors of the file (This is the information page of the file as opened by a user.):
So it turns out that the issue was not related at all to the workbook...
When attempting to Save As in the folder where the workbook was located, we found out that the user I was using for the tests simply did not have write permissions to the folder in question. I had write permissions to it based on a previous assignment.
So much frustration over something so simple.

Excel - Keep macros enabled when sheet is saved as new

I have an excel macro-enabled sheet that users open, fill out a list of information (name, date, etc) and click a save button. This creates a new file name based on the information, and saves the file to a network location. The users then continue to work with the sheet.
I forced the users to enable macros (excellent tutorial here: http://datapigtechnologies.com/blog/index.php/forcing-your-clients-to-enable-macros/) and that works well, however once the file name changes, macros are disabled. I assume this due to the fact that it is an untrusted network location. The sheet will be used by many different computers, so I would like to find a vba workaround rather than relying on an excel setting.
Edit: I think I have the answer: As #mehow said based on the link I have posted, I can first run the part of the macro that finds the file name, then lock the workbook all except the start page, then save the workbook as the new name, then hide the start page and show everything else. That way if macros are disabled once the sheet is saved it should force the user to re-enable without compromising the protection. I'll post once I find outwhether it will work.
Edit: It works! Thanks.

Linking two dashboards based on a table selection in Qlikview

In the past, I have used Tableau, another Data Visualization tool just like Qlikview where I could link a selection on a table or graph (or really an worksheet on a dashboard) to another dashboard by setting a source and destination dashboard/sheet. I did this using 'Action Filters'.
I am trying to do the same thing in Qlikview where I want to link two dashboards and transfer the selection in the source dashboard as a filter to the destination dashboard. Any idea if this is possible? And if yes, how can I implement this?
If you are using a trigger, say, on a button which opens a new QlikView Document, there are options to transfer state. This will carry over your current selection criteria. However, the fields in the destination document must have the same name.
See button properties -> Actions -> Add -> Action type external: Open QlikView Document. You will return to the Actions tab with options available to the newly added action.
Try to solve it with the data-model behind these two dashboard. If they use the same data resp. the data-tables are connected this works out of the box in QlikView because of the so called associative data-model in QlikView.
No need to connect the dashboards manually, zero configuration ...
