As we are using union all so distinct and order by operation will be saved.

SQL Server query to extract all rows

I've two database tables, one called "Headers" and one called "Rows".
The structure is:
Header: IDPK | Description
Row: IDPK | IDPK_Header | Item_ID | Qty
I need to do a query that says: "From a Header, IDPK find another header that have the same number of rows and the same item ID and quantity".
For example:
Header Rows
IDPK Description IDPK Item_ID Qty
1 'Test1' 1 'A' 10
1 'Test1' 2 'B' 20
2 'Test2' 3 'A' 10
2 'Test2' 4 'B' 20
3 'Test3' 5 'A' 5
3 'Test3' 6 'B' 20
4 'Test4' 7 'A' 10
Header Test1 match Test2 but not Test3 and Test4
The problem is that the number of rows must be exactly the same. I try with ALL operator but without luck.
How I can do the query with an eye for the performance? The two tables can be very huge (~500.000 records).
Assuming there are no duplicates:

Basically, this does a self-join on the items, so you only get matches. The on validates that the two have the same number of items. And the having guarantees that all match.
Note: This version returns each match of the header to itself. That is a nice check. You can of course filter this out in the on or a where clause.
If you do have duplicate items, you can simply replace r with:
select idpk_header, item_id, sum(qty) as qty,
count(*) over (partition by idpk_header) as num_items
from rows r
group by idpk_header, item_id;
I woul suggest using a forxml query in order to create the list of items per IDPK. Next I would search for matching item lists and quantities. See following example:

Pivot - how to sum and calculate the outcome

I am sure this is a quick one, but tried everything, well apart from the answer. I have a pivot script which works fine, apart from the result in the columns, I need to divide by 100. So result / 100
Script is

So what I would like to do is :
Sum(total) change to something like Sum(total/100)

The issue with your sample code is that you are trying to do a select on the table itself rather than the Pivot. You will need to define your columns inside your 'SourceTable' and then Pivot the PayerCode and then do your Select * FROM (Sourcetable Pivottable)

T-SQL Summation

I'm trying to create result set with 3 columns. Each column coming from the summation of 1 Column of Table A but grouped by different ID's. Here's an overview of what I wanted to do..

I understand that I can not get this using UNION, I was thinking of using CTE but not quite sure with the logic.
You need conditional Aggregation

This technique works if the ids you are seeking are constant, otherwise I imagine some dyanmic-sql would work as well if changing ids are needed.

Count number of records returned by temp table - SQL Server

My script is as below

No column name was specified for column 1 of 'A'.
When you use a subquery, all the columns need to given names:
SELECT COUNT(0)
FROM (SELECT COUNT(0) as cnt FROM #t GROUP BY Id
) a;
However, a simpler way to write this is:
SELECT COUNT(DISTINCT id)
FROM #t;
Actually, this isn't exactly the same. Your version will count NULL values but this does not. The exact equivalent is:
SELECT COUNT(DISTINCT id) + MAX(CASE WHEN id IS NULL THEN 1 ELSE 0 END)
FROM #t;

How to concatenate all strings from a certain column for each group

Suppose I have this table [Table1]
Name Mark
------- ------
ABC 10
DEF 10
GHI 10
JKL 20
MNO 20
PQR 30
What should be my SQL statement to retrieve a record that looks like this:
(group by [mark]).
I have done the 1 and 2 columns but don't know how to accomplish the third column (concat the [name] with the same [mark])
mark count names
---- ----- -----------
10 3 ABC,DEF,GHI
20 2 JKL,MNO
30 1 PQR
I'm using Microsoft SQL.

Using XML functions in a large query is a performance killer.
Using a CTE is a performance superstar.
Check out the link, it will explain how.
I admit the work to accomplish it is more.
But the result is milliseconds over millions of rows.
polishchuks solution is more elegant, but this is basically the same thing, we just deal with the trailing comma differently.
