Blueimp-gallery with folder structure (Razor template) - blueimp

I have a scenario where a customer need an image gallery with a folder-structure.
They want to use it as a product-reference for customers.
I am looking at the blueimp-gallery APP, and it looks like a good "starter template". I have created a folder-structure with the Library input-type (Adam upload), but is there a way to list the Adam folder-structure in the view template (Razor)?

Not directly, but almost :)
So first of all, there is a new version of the Blueimp which actually supports multi-album out of the box. We've been using it for a while, but are finishing some details before we publish it this or next week.
Many people ask "can I connect my folder xyz to ADAM" but that's trying to solve the problem backwards, assuming that the folder is the best place to put things, and now adam should talk to it. ADAM works the other way around, since it should fully manage the resources - which it can't when using a folder where the user will probably "mess around" manually.
So to continue on the answer: ADAM support subfolders :) you can even specify the depth.
So to continue, I recommend that you either
1. get the latest blueimp release from github - or even better, wait another 2 weeks and use that...
2. or in your current blueimp, enable subfolders in the ADAM, then modify the output-script to respect that in any way you wish
Good luck!

Embedding .exe's into a VB.net application

So here's whats up,
I am a Bench Technician for an IT company. I find myself repeating the same task over and over when preforming system reloads. I want to write an application where I have all the programs for a reload in one spot, and call them by a button click event. I have tried adding them into the Resources and calling them by Environment.CurrentDirectory+"\Path" to no avail, I get " System cannot find the file specified. When the path is hard coded it works like a charm, but this will obviously not do as it needs to be able to move to any system. I am looking for a way to add the exe's I need and a generic way to call the path. I am not looking for handouts here, I have done my homework on this one and still not found a solution, If I could get someone to -point me in the right direction, it would be awesome.
Since what you have already tried is much saner and easier for the average user to work with than having the files embedded in another executable, I'll explain that method.
CurrentDirectory is where your executable is executed from, Like this:
C:\MyDir> MyOtherDir\MyProgram.exe
CurrentDirectory refers to C:\MyDir in this example.
What you need is the application directory; and according to top answer of this question the most reliable way to get that is using AppDomain.CurrentDomain.BaseDirectory
EDIT: Also consider using Path.DirectorySeparatorChar instead of \.

silverstripe dynamic backend for flexible frontend

I'm searching for a while, but didn't find a practical answer for the following problem:
An Articlepage in the Frontend can contain different types of sections. For example a block text section and than a text section with left photo an at the end an wallpaper photo.
Now I want to implement this in my backend dynamically, so that I can choose, which type of section and -even more important- how many sections my article should contain.
In my recent project I've solved the problem as an Articlesection with a Dropdown, wich contains the different section styles. And one article hat xy Artilesections as childpages. In the frontend I included all Childpages of the Article - so to speak the Articlesections, where I've checked with if conditions, which sectionsystyle I have in this Section and here I styled the section as I want.
For example Artilce1 has 2 Childpages: Articlesection1 and Artilcesection2.
In AS1 I have choose in the dropdown: right text with left photo and check with if conditions, to style the section. The same with AS2, that is for example a wallpaper photo.
This semiprofessional solution worked, but there are some bugs with displaying the Article correct in the backend, because I have to declare the Articlesections as Includes and not native childpages. And in generell this don't seems like the developers of silverstripe want the users to do it this way..
Are there better ways to implement a dynamically changing backend, so I can decide, which and how much sections I have in the frontend.
Take a look at https://github.com/sheadawson/silverstripe-blocks. There's quite a few addons that offer similar functionality as Blocks such as Elemental. The following blog post might also be useful too - https://www.silverstripe.org/blog/silverstripe-strips/.
Thank you for your reply, but there is a problem, because I don't work a lot with the terminal and the composer. In principle I want to install sheadawsons silverstripe-block. I have installed the composer and run the command:
"composer require sheadawson/silverstripe-blocks" it seems like it installed that correctly, because I became no errors, but what then? With dev/build -to refresh the database- happened nothing and the following instructions in the readmy chanced nothing. Should I copy any files in my Sivlerstripe web folder or what else..? I'm a bit desperate, because there is such a poor documentation.
Tank you

Accessing model attribute from css/less file with Rails 3

The project I'm working on requires me to adapt the size of the elements on screen according to per-user setting. We're using Twitter bootstrap, so my first idea was to toy with the #basefont value, and it seems to do the trick.
However, I don't know how to access the user setting from the .less file. I tried using erb with .less.erb, but it looks like I don't have access to any code in my application.
Is there a way to get the value I'm looking for from the .less file, or - even better - a proper way to do this ?
Thanks for your time.
EDIT
Since I need to get the value at runtime, the way I tried won't work anyway, though I'm still interested on an answer. The only way I see to do what I want is to add a class according to the user setting. Again, I'd be glad to have alternatives.
I opted for css3 transform (and vendors implementation) property. It does the job, but seems to hit the GPU quite a lot. So still open to other answers. :)

Automatic screenshot uploading on Mac like Cloud App

Cloud App has this neat feature wherein it automatically uploads new screenshots as they are added to the Desktop. Any ideas how this is done?
You can do similar things yourself without much in the way of programming. In OSX, you can configure "Folder Actions" to run a script, for example, when a new item appears in a folder, including the Desktop. You can then use the script to do whatever you want with the new files.
This article at TUAW includes an example of uploading files to a web server when they hit a particular folder.
So, basically, the answer is "Folder Actions", or "something's keeping an eye on the folder and sending notifications", at some level. Whether Cloud App uses Folder Actions or watches the folder itself at a lower level, using FSEvents/NSWorkspace, or the kqueue mechanisms (for which there's a nice wrapper class called UKKQueue, if I remember correctly -- don't know how current my knowledge is on that one though!) is another matter...
You could implement this at several different levels, depending on the outcome you want, how you want to design whatever it is you're actually doing, and even what kind of filesystem you're targeting. Fundamentally, in Cocoa/Objective C, I think you probably want to start looking at FSEvents.
Once you've got notifications of the file changes, I'd probably use something like ConnectionKit to do the uploading -- any library at all, really, that means you don't have to bother with the sockets level yourself -- but again, there's a lot of different ways.
Depends, really, what level you're looking to solve the problem at, and whether you want to build something for other people or get something working for yourself. If I just wanted to bash something together for myself, I could probably have something cobbled together using Coda's Transmit app, and Folder Actions, or maybe Hazel, and a minimal bit of Applescript, in a half-hour at most, that would do the job well enough for me...
I am not sure what you are asking for exactly. If you are asking for a way to take a screenshot programmatically in MacOSX, I suggest you have a look at the "screencapture" command (in the terminal, type "man screencapture" for doc).
If you want to do it the "hard" way, you should look at this.

Is there a script that turns a Pharo core image into something more useful, that would include an OmniBrowser?

I cannot use the most recent dev Pharo release because of some strange issues with the compiler built into Pharo. Well. I was wondering if there is a quick way to install all the nifty extras into Pharo that the core image misses, as compared to the dev image.
With all non-core Pharo images come a script which was used to build that image. Just edit that file and drag&drop it on a new core.
You could also tell me what you don't like in the Pharo images so that I can enhance them.
There is also the script I published on the Pharo wiki that I use to build my images:
http://code.google.com/p/pharo/wiki/ImageBuildScripts
Of course it is very specific to my preferences and needs, but you can take it as an example and adapt it to your own needs.
CommandShell works with Pharo 9.10.10. You will hit several errors as you try to load the package due to Pharo lacking MVC, but you can simply proceed past the first bunch and abandon the last one (that tries to actually open a CommandShell in Morphic). At that point, you'll have a class called PipeableOSProcess that can be used very easily to grab output. For example:
(PipeableOSProcess command: 'ls /bin') output
will return the contents of your bin directory as a string.
Ok, OB itself can be easily downloaded using ScriptLoader loadSuperOB.
Damien adds (from comment below):
The problem with that approach is that nobody really maintains it.
Moreover, you miss some configuration steps to enhance the use of OB
(for example, you won't have the OB-based browsers if you ask for the
senders of a message from a workspace)
