How should I add an image field to an odoo survey?
In a survey I need the option to upload an image (or even more than one).
I found this, but I can't figure where or what.
First of all, we have to give the creator of the survey the opportunity to add a binary field to a survey page (used for the image upload)
Create a custom model that inherits from the survey.question model. Add a ('binary','Upload') element in the state field.
Then on addons/survey/views/survey_views.xml find the with the id survey_question_form and change it accordingly (for example when you add a question of type Binary you might want to hide some elements that refer to other types of questions)
After that go to addons/survey/views/survey_templates.xml and add a template:
<template id="binary_field" name="Image">
<input type="image" class="form-control" t-att-name="prefix"/>
</template>
Then, on the same file, find the template with the id = page and add
<t t-if="question.type == 'binary'"><t t-call="survey.binary_field"/></t>
Start testing the whole process by restarting your server with -d your_database_name -u survey and move from there.
More changes might be needed in addition to what I have mentioned.

Maybe someone gives me advise how to set default value for input type files in vue (i have file name, but I think I need something more)? I know that v-model is senseless, so I have no idea how to do it, and can't found some solutions.
You cannot set default value to file inputs. You just display file info in separate element and use file input just to upload new files.
E.g.
<div>
{{file.name}}
<!-- Just display the name of the existing file -->
<button #click.prevent="removeFile(file)">Remove</button>
<!-- button to delete existing file -->
</div>
<input type="file" #change="handleUpload">
<!-- Show input just to upload new file and replace the old one -->
Thank you for your answers. Then I try to use v-model there I have error v-model is not allowed here. To be honest there was problem with validation during edit. File input is empty, because I can't preaload data, and validation not allowed to send data to backend.
In the end I decided that when there are edit, file input not need to be required, because object get information about ealier choosen file, and you can change it, but can't remove.
We want to add custom fields that can be modified on the back end, yet also populate on the front end using custom fields. We have tried following, yet the fields didn't populate on the front end. See below for examples of the code and corresponding output:
Example Code
Result
How can we get these fields to properly populate on the front end?
I would start by reading the BigCommerce Stencil Documentation. The way you are calling the custom field values is not how they suggest calling these values.
The custom_fields are only accessible on the product detail page at this time in Stencil.
To display them on the product detail page, you can loop through each custom_field value with the following code.
{{#each product.custom_fields}}
<dt class="productView-info-name">{{name}}:</dt>
<dd class="productView-info-value">{{{value}}}</dd>
{{/each}}
You can check to see what values are available on each page by either reading the Stencil docs linked above, or debugging your page by removing the closing '/' and adding '?debug=bar' to the end of your localhost URL. Refresh your page and you will see all available store data in JSON format below the rendered page.
For more control over which custom field you output where you can create a reusable loop.
i.e. Create templates/components/products/custom-fields.html
{{#each product.custom_fields}}
{{#if name '===' ../custom_field}}
{{{value}}}
{{/if}}
{{/each}}
Then from your product_view.html you can specify the field value to output with a single line:
{{> components/products/custom-field custom_fields='custom field name'}}
Each product has the custom fields options. Can I output those custom fields on each product item in the product list page? If so, how? I have tried adding the ProductOtherDetails and the %%SNIPPET_ProductCustomFieldItem%% in the CategoryProductsItem.html, but got no output at all of any of the items I have tried. Any suggestions or pointers on how and if this is possible?
As of September 2015, you can now access %%GLOBAL_ProductCustomFields%% on any template file that renders a particular panel's individual items. For example:
-Snippets/CategoryProductsItem.html for category list pages
-Snippets/HomeFeaturedProductsItem.html for the featured products panel
I recommend adding the custom field name as a class to each field for easy hiding, and accessing of the value in case the custom fields ever change you won't be accessing them via :nth-child CSS which would break. You can do so by modify Snippets/ProductCustomFieldItem.html to add the custom field name to the CSS class or ID like this:
<div class="DetailRow %%GLOBAL_CustomFieldName%%">
<div class="Label">%%GLOBAL_CustomFieldName%%:</div>
<div class="Value">
%%GLOBAL_CustomFieldValue%%
</div>
</div>
Doing so, will output like this in each item in the category list.
Above, I am using the custom fields to send through shipping time, as well as "Starting At" to prepend to the list page price if the item is a parent which has children of higher prices. In my opinion, these features greatly increase the user experience.
For Faceted Search (handlebars.js)
I recommend adding this to Panels/FacetedSearchProductGrid.html:
{{#each product.custom_fields}}
{{ id }} : {{ name }} : {{ value }}
{{/each}}
Those filters will be limited to the Product pages specifically. The only way around it is to hash together a solution using jQuery to go and fetch items in question from the product page. A pain, but do-able with unnecessary effort.
Only the content of the div is unique. So, in the following dynamically generated html, only "My Article-1245" is unique:
<div class="col-md-4 article">
<h2>
My Article-1245
Delete
Edit
</h2>
<p>O ephemeral text! Here today, gone tomorrow. Not terribly important, but necessary</p>
</div>
How do I select the edit/delete link of this specific div, using Selenium? assertText/verifyText requires an element locator, but I do not have any unique id/name (out of my control). There will be many such div blocks, with other content text, all dynamically generated.
Any help would be appreciated.
If text 'My Article' appears each time, you may use following:
//For Delete
driver.findElement(By.xpath("//h2[contains(text(),'My Article-')]/a[text()='Delete']"));
//For Edit
driver.findElement(By.xpath("//h2[contains(text(),'My Article-')]/a[text()='Edit']"));
Hope it meets your requirement :)
Matching by text is always a bad automated testing concept. If you want to keep clean and reliable test scripts, then :
Contact your web dev to add unique identifiers to the elements
Suck it up, and create selectors based on what's there.
You are able to create a CSS selector based on what you want.
What you should do is create the selector using parent-child relationships:
driver.findElement(By.cssSelector("div.article:nth-child(X) a[href^='delete']"));
As I am ignorant of your appp, this is also assuming that all of your article classes are under the same parent. You would substitute X with the number of the div you want to refer to. e.g.:
<div id="someparent">
<div class="...article" />
<div class="...article" />
...
</div>
I have some slightly funky UI for inputting tags for a blog post: as tags are entered into an input field they are wrapped into spans that make them look nice by surrounding them in a stylized box, the end result comes out to be something like this:
http://forr.st/posts/OLs/original
Now, this input field (call it field 1)is not part of the form that gets submitted to the controller (I'm using RoR btw) for two reasons: it contains extraneous html tags, besides the actual tags; also if it was part of the form pressing enter would submit the form instead of triggering the js that wraps the entered tag into a span.
So what I'm doing is when each tag is entered, I copy its value (via js) to a hidden input field that IS part of the tag entry form, and when submitted would contain only the tag values and nothing else. The question is: What should I use as delimiter to separate the tags in the hidden input field. Currently I'm using ';' but if a tag itself contains ; that'd cause problems.
I'm also open to suggestions about the general method of how to keep track of the tags entered into 'field 1'
Thanks a lot,
I would recommend just adding a hidden input for each tag.
<input type="hidden" name="post[tags][]" value="tag_name" />
<input type="hidden" name="post[tags][]" value="tag_name" />
<input type="hidden" name="post[tags][]" value="tag_name" />
then in rails
post.rb
def tags=(value)
tag_array = [*value]
# then just filter these out.
end
I use a similar method with the tokenInput jQuery plugin. But in my case I've placed it inside the form. I solved the problems that you mentioned by capturing the keypress event and preventing it for that input and I ignore the search input value.
The one thing that I really like about keeping it inside the form is how it is managed afterward. I place the hidden tag, name, and a remove 'x' in a span (like you mentioned) and then just remove this tag when the 'x' is clicked. I like this because the name and the hidden_tag are removed at the same time.
Just one other tip. If you can, pass the tag_id in the hidden field. This way you don't have to add the tags attribute add all: <input type="hidden" name="post[tag_ids][]" value="tag_name" />.
