How to write a redis client with c++ Builder - redis

Does someone have experience in writing a redis client with c++ Builder?
I tried several redis Clients listened on redis.io but I was not able to get any of them compiling with C++-Builder.

MQTT backend scaling

I am currently developing a typical IoT service. At the moment multiple devices connect to one MQTT broker (mosquitto) and my java backend also connects to the broker (Paho).
The problem i see is the following:
When i am going to have multiple instances of my java backend every backend will receive and process every message received. That`s a big issue. I just want to deliver a message to only one java backend. Anybody an idea how to deal with this problem?
Btw: Java backends will be added or removed depending on the load.
There are a couple of options
Place a queuing system between your application and the MQTT broker, possibly something like Apache Kafka
HiveMQ and IBM MessageSight brokers support (different implementations) of something called shared subscriptions. This allows messages to be shared out between more than one client. Shared subscriptions is likely to be formally added to the MQTTv5 spec which should mean that it will be added to more broker and have a standard implementation.

C++ application as Gemfire client?

I am aware that a Java client can register as a client in a client-server model and register the Regions it is interested in. Also, when the data changes on the server, the data will automatically be sent to the client.
Is it possible to have this with a C++ client and a Java server?

Definitely. Gemfire has a C++ client that supports pretty much everything the java client supports, including getting updates pushed to the client. Check out the documentation here:

JVM Level Clustering in Netty Server 4.0

This is my first question in this forum, so kindly forgive me for my mistakes.
Now, my query is regarding clustering in Netty Server 4.0.
We have one solution which was designed and developed in Netty Server. That time it was using multiple instances in a way so that clients were not effected if the sessions are not shared among them.
Now, in a different project while using the same solution we have come across a situation where we need to share and synchronized the JVM within multiple instances. Since, netty itself does not support JVM level clustering we are looking for a framework which will support Netty to run in cluster mode.
We are not supposed to put lot of efforts in re-writing the Netty Server code and other business login as it is serving the same purpose but we are looking for a configuration based framework to support clustering with Netty Server.
Some configuration based tutorial are really appreciated.

Conversion from MQTT to AMQP/STOMP

I'm kind of new to these protocols, and just started exploring Message brokers like Apache Apollo and RabbitMQ.
So my broker receives MQTT messages from a publisher. And I would like to convert it into AMQP (preferably) or STOMP protocol to send to a web server. But I've so far been unable to do so.
I looked into RabbitMQ, and tried enabling the MQTT plugin, but when I do load it, I'm unable to start the server.
I was wondering if anyone can guide me here? Is there an API that can help me? And I'm very confused about RabbitMQ. I've been able to load other plugins easily,like stomp, management utilities etc.
I'm 100% sure it is doable. I am doing it right now with robomq.io broker. One cause could be sometimes bugs in your client library restrict you doing so.
Another thing you should be aware of is that internally, RabbitMQ MQTT adapter is mapped into amq.topic exchange by default, so on your STOMP peer, you should subscribe or send to /topic/yourTopic; on your AMQP peer, bind your queue to amq.topic exchange or publish to that exchange.
Follow this example code and documentation to build your client.
If you can't figure out your server, just get a free trial from robomq.io. It saves you time and money.
The development tool I am using is robomq.io broker, producers in Python (AMQP library: pika, MQTT library: paho, STOMP library: stompest), consumer in Node.js (library: amqplib).

btw, I use Ubuntu 14.04.
About the RabbitMQ broker
So Mosquitto was running un the background occupying the port 1883 normally used for MQTT. I could have changed the port for RabbitMQ, but decided against it and tried to kill the Mosquitto process. But for some reason, I could NOT.
For now, my quick fix was removing Mosquitto completely and this freed the port, enabling RabbitMQ to use it.
About the protocols
I've used Paho and the RabbitMQ libraries provided to code out simple programs that can publish and receive messages in AMQP/MQTT via the RabbitMQ broker.
(My Googling needs to be better!)
Still haven't converted one to the other. But that shouldn't be too big a step to achieve.
Still would be nice to know if there's an API or something that can help me achieve the conversion in a very simple manner. Of course, if there's not, I'll figure it out ASAP
Any suggestions/comments are heartily welcome. I'm brand new to all this and could really use advice from all you seasoned pros :)

WCF - Compact Framework - Pull data from mobile client

I want to communicate xml serialized objects from the server to the client and the other way arround. Now it is (probably) easy to invoke methods from a mobile client (compact framework) using WCF, but is there a way so that the server can invoke methods on the client side or some other way to pull data from the client? Originally I thought of socket programming and of developing this by myself, then someone here mentioned WCF. But it seems like WCF only would work in a non mobile environment as I need callbacks.
Anyone can help me with this? Is it possible to develop a two way communication with a desktop server and multiple mobile clients using WCF, or will I have to do socket programming?

Thank you for your help. I actually stumbled across your Padran web server before.Havent really checked it out yet. But I definitely will do that later on. Anyway, a socket solution does not seem that bad at the moment. In the meanwhile I figured that it is quite easy to send data from multiple clients to a 'socket server'. If I can manage those connections somehow I can send data back to the clients. And then I would have to come up with some kind if protocol which handles the data or commands I send over the network... I guess the hardest part would be to make up such a protocol as I do not have a clue about that atm...
Even if you go to sockets it might be a bit difficult due to routing, carrier filtering and NAT translations (you've not mentioned what your actual network topology is). This is the reason that most mobile applications have to poll the server, even if it is a "push" paradigm (like Exchange's push mechanism, where the client actually polls).
Generally speaking, unless you're on something like a local wireless network where you have solid, routable, unfiltered network access, the client should periodically call the server and ask if the server has data. If it does, then it pulls the data from the server.

Now that we know a little more about your topolgy from your comment, I can steer you a little more. Unfortunately Microsoft has not made it easy for Windwos CE devices to host services (WCF or otherwise). There is, in theory, the required infrstructure to build up your own WCF channel and actually host a service, but it's not a trivial task. I looked into it quite some time ago and figured it was a couple months of work and that would have been with the assistance of someone in Redmond that knew how the existing Exchange channel works.
Personally I'd opt for hosting a REST-based web service using our Padarn web server because it's simple to do and I've done it for quite a number of clients now. I realize that it's a little self-serving to propose Padarn as a solution but the entire reason I implemented custom IHttpHandlers in Padarn was because I couldn't find anything else out there that really provided any easy way for a CE device to host it's own services and it's a problem we often have to provide a solution for.
The other options would be things like a proprietary socket solution, hosting an FTP server on the device, using the (abhorrent, IMO) MS-provided HTTP server with ISAPI, Telnet or something along those lines. All of them seem either a hack, a lot of work or both.
