I tried to install node-pre-gyp and node-gyp. I also checked Python version - everything should be ok but something goes wrong.
This is a known problem on Windows, being tracked here. It should be fixed soon.

I think it is related to the proxy problem, such that the request to GitHub for getting the prebuild binaries does not work.
How can I avoid downloading the prebuild binaries in my continuous integration system? Can I download them locally, commit them to my project somewhere?
The project in the continuous integration system is already connected to an internal npm registry.

You first need to clear the npm cache by using this command
npm cache clean --force
if it doesn't work then manually delete the %appdata%\npm-cache folder.
then update your npm

How to fix it?
It looks like a bug has been filed with Microsoft (see https://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/Feedback/Details/3110480). It appears that this is an issue with an outdated dependency that doesn't work with newer (>6.5) versions of node.

You need to update the ioslib dependency to 1.0.3 and the node-ios-device to 1.1.0. That worked for me. Downgrading to node 6.5 might work as well.
