I Have the following :
I used the select to got the Id from table as follow :

I want to pass result the result to the following sql statement using while or case
Depend of the result of the select statement

This also includes the id in the SELECT, because that seems desirable.

Aggregate functions in VARCHAR columns are not advised. If you have a Primary Key or a surrogate key which can be used, then it will be helpful. Use the below query to use WHILE LOOP.

Can anyone tell a subquery of finding difference of 2 fields in 2 different tables as a single value

I have tried the below and i am able to get the answer but i need to call this as single query in front end, so can any one an alternative for this.
I don't need this as an SP:

Subquery within SubQuery in SQL - DB2

I am having issue when trying to make a the sub query shown in the first filter dynamically based on one of the results returned from the query. Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong. In the first subquery it worked.

Error I am getting is:
Error Code: -204, SQL State: 42704
I would say that a good option here would be to use a CTE, or Common Table Expression. You can do something similar to the following:
WITH CTE_X AS(
SELECT VAL_A
,VAL_B

FROM TABLE_B)
SELECT VAL_A
,VAL_B
FROM CTE_X X
JOIN CTE_Y Y
ON X.VAL_A = Y.VAL_C;
While this isn't specific to your example, it does show that CTE's create a sort of temporary "in memory" table that you can access in a subsequent query. This should allow you to issue your inner two subselects as a CTE, and then use the CTE in the "SELECT MAX( MAX_DATE - MIN_DATE ) AS NUM_CONS_DAYS" query.
You cannot reference columns from the outer select in the subselect, no more than 1 level deep anyway. If I correctly understand what you're doing, you'll probably need to join DWH.MQT_SUMMARY_WATER_READINGS and DWH.DWH_WMETER_CONTEXT in the outer select.

T-SQL query for finding first missing sequence string (prefix+no)
Sequence can have a prefix + a continuing no.
ex sequence will be
ID

So above the missing sequence is AUTO_503 or if there is no missing sequence then it must return next sequence.
Also starting no is to specified ex. 500 in this case and prefix can be null i.e. no prefix only numbers as sequence.
You could LEFT JOIN the id numbers on shifted(+1) values to find gaps in sequential order:

How to get the deepest levels of a hierarchical sql query

I'm using SQLServer 2008.
Say I have a recursive hierarchy table, SalesRegion, whit SalesRegionId and ParentSalesRegionId. What I need is, given a specific SalesRegion (anywhere in the hierarchy), retrieve ALL the records at the BOTTOM level.
I.E.:
SalesRegion, ParentSalesRegionId
1, null
1-1, 1
1-2, 1
1-1-1, 1-1
1-1-2, 1-1
1-2-1, 1-2
1-2-2, 1-2
1-1-1-1, 1-1-1
1-1-1-2, 1-1-1
1-1-2-1, 1-1-2
1-2-1-1, 1-2-1
(in my table I have sequencial numbers, this dashed numbers are only to be clear)
So, if the user enters 1-1, I need to retrieve al records with SalesRegion 1-1-1-1 or 1-1-1-2 or 1-1-2-1 (and NOT 1-2-2). Similarly, if the user enters 1-1-2-1, I need to retrieve just 1-1-2-1
I have a CTE query that retrieves everything below 1-1, but that includes rows that I don't want:

I found a quick way to do this, but I'd rather the answer to be in a single query. So if you can think of one, please share! If I like it better, I'll vote for it as the best answer.
I added a "Level" column in my previous query (I'll edit the question so this answer is clear), and used it to get the last level and then delete the ones I don't need.

Can you create nested WITH clauses for Common Table Expressions?

Does something like this work? I tried it earlier but I couldn't get it to work.
While not strictly nested, you can use common table expressions to reuse previous queries in subsequent ones.
To do this, the form of the statement you are looking for would be
WITH x AS
(
SELECT * FROM MyTable

y AS
(
SELECT * FROM x

SELECT * FROM y
You can do the following, which is referred to as a recursive query:
WITH y
AS

SELECT x, y, z

You may not need this functionality. I've done the following just to organize my queries better:

I was trying to measure the time between events with the exception of what one entry that has multiple processes between the start and end. I needed this in the context of other single line processes.
I used a select with an inner join as my select statement within the Nth cte. The second cte I needed to extract the start date on X and end date on Y and used 1 as an id value to left join to put them on a single line.
Works for me, hope this helps.

Nested 'With' is not supported, but you can always use the second With as a subquery, for example:
