Keeping floating span valign middle - twitter-bootstrap-3

I have tried a lot to keep a span valign middle. At the moment it looks like:
But I want that:
Here you can play around: Link

.wrapper{
display:table-row;
}
.image-left{
width:50px;
height:50px;
background-color:grey;
}
.text-block{
display:table-cell;
vertical-align:middle;
}
<div class="wrapper">
<div class="image-left">
</div>
<div class="text-block">
<span>One does not simply css.</span>
</div>
</div>
Whenever I need to align text, I tend to use display: table-cell with vertical-align:middle on the parent element of the span or the div where the text is inside.
But there are literally tons of ways to achieve this. I suggest you google a bit and see which one fits best in your situation. I just prefer table-cells since they auto adjust to all content in the row, and look clean.

Your link didnt work btw.

Using dynamic IDs in a string in a VueJS

I'm using a UIKit library for a tab component that listens to a uk-tab property that targets an id. The problem with this, is that it creates the same ID for every tabbed component. I like the UI, but whoever thought of this, didn't think too far into it. I could fix it by making the id dynamic but I am having trouble calling it in the uk-tab property because it is rendering a string. Coming from a react background, I would do a string literal and some JSX, something like #item-${_id}to show #item-12, #item-13....and so on. But That's not working. How can I do this in Vue?
Here is an example of how it works
<div class="mytrigger">
<ul uk-tab="connect: #component-tab-left; animation: uk-animation-fade">
</div>
<div class="mytargetedtab">
<ul id="component-tab-left" class="uk-switcher">
</div>
Here is an example of how what I need
<div class="mytrigger">
<ul uk-tab="connect: #_uid+'switcher'; animation: uk-animation-fade">
</div>
<div class="mytargetedtab">
<ul :id="_uid+'switcher'" class="uk-switcher">
</div>
Check out the dev tools. It should be 810switcher, but instead is taking it as a string
Any ideas? Thanks
I believe what you need is:
<ul :uk-tab="`connect: #${_uid}switcher; animation: uk-animation-fade`">
Or if you prefer not to use backticks:
<ul :uk-tab="'connect: #' + _uid + 'switcher; animation: uk-animation-fade'">
The output will be:
<ul uk-tab="connect: #22switcher; animation: uk-animation-fade">
A few notes:
Using a : is short for v-bind: but don't let the name confuse you. v-bind doesn't necessarily bind anything, it just makes the attribute value a JavaScript expression.
I'd avoid using numbers at the start of element ids, I've seen that cause problems in the past. It'd be better to put the numbers at the end.
The underscore at the start of _uid indicates that it's private to Vue. There are no guarantees about what form it will take or whether it will even exist going forward.
Use data-uk-tab instead of uk-tab like below.
<div class="mytrigger">
<ul data-uk-tab="{connect: `#${_uid}switcher`, animation: 'uk-animation-fade'}">
</div>
<div class="mytargetedtab">
<ul :id="_uid+'switcher'" class="uk-switcher">
</div>
For more information => Switcher with tabs
You can use any javascript expression in a data binding in vue. So, if you bind a string template to the attribute, it'll populate what you expect.
<ul :uk-tab="`connect: #${uid}switcher`'; animation: uk-animation-fade">

Why "POSITION:RELATIVE" messes up things?

If you enable position:relative for the right one, you will see that it overflows the left one:
http://jsfiddle.net/bfwhoem5/1/
why?
How to solve that (while maintaining position:relative too). Also, I want when mouseover with INSPECT, the right one should not be overflowed over left.
p.s. I dont wish calc, because it is not yet well supported...
Here is one solution:
#left {
position:relative;
float:left; width:180px; background:#ff0000;
}
#right {
position:relative;
width: calc(100% - 180px); background:#00FF00;float:left;
}
<div>
<div id="left">
leftttt
</div>
<div id="right">
rightttt
</div>
</div>
Your issue is with one div having a float and the other not - also if you are going to put two items side by side you cannot have one with a width of 100%, either they will go on top of each other or go to the next line depending on their position relative to each other.

Foundation equalizer plug + BS 3.2?

Trying to use equalizer plug, but id doesn't work, and no errors. It`s look like http://goo.gl/OvKy1g. Here is a page http://goo.gl/INMqUL. Do i need include some css for it.
You can use the Foundation Equalize plugin along with Twitter Bootstrap, but you need to do a couple of things to make it work.
DEMO
First, your principle issue is that foundation.js is looking for the corresponding foundation.css. Since you're using Twitter Bootstrap as your base styles, you probably don't want to have to deal with all of the potential style conflicts or having your users download another large css file. Really all that is needed is a reference to the Foundation version and namespace, so just add the following to your css:
meta.foundation-version {
font-family: "/5.4.5/";
}
meta.foundation-data-attribute-namespace {
font-family: false;
}
The second issue is with your markup. You have the data-equalizer-watch attribute applied to the containing .col-sm-4 element, but you have your border on the child element with the class latest-news-item. So change your markup to be:
<div class="row" data-equalizer>
<div class="col-sm-4" >
<div class="latest-news-item" data-equalizer-watch>
<!--Your content here-->
</div>
</div>
<div class="col-sm-4" >
<div class="latest-news-item" data-equalizer-watch>
<!--Your content here-->
</div>
</div>
<div class="col-sm-4" >
<div class="latest-news-item" data-equalizer-watch>
<!--Your content here-->
</div>
</div>
</div>
As you can see in the demo, I was able to get your test page to work with these changes, but I was also able to dramatically reduce the foundation.js file size by using the Custom option on the Foundation Download page and just building a js version with the equalize plugin only. The minified version was 31K. If you're not planning to use any of the other foundation plugins, you might consider using a custom file.
That said, for folks that are looking for an alternative lighter-weight approach, it might be just as easy to write your own jQuery such as by adding a class to the row you want to equalize (I called it 'equalize') and then add:
var row=$('.equalize');
$.each(row, function() {
var maxh=0;
$.each($(this).find('div[class^="col-"]'), function() {
if($(this).height() > maxh)
maxh=$(this).height();
});
$.each($(this).find('div[class^="col-"]'), function() {
$(this).height(maxh);
});
});
Wrap it in a function and you can call it on resize as well if that is important to you.

CSS: Div Background Image position on eBay Issue

Ok, this will probably be simple to resolve, but I am a graphic designer & not a developer so wondering if someone can help me out. I have played around with positions but not such luck.
So I have a header div with a backgroud image within it, but when I preview the html/css on ebay the background image within this div appears at the top of the browser (conflicting with the ebay standard header) & not being positioned relative to the container div it is placed in. So basically the bg image is outside the div. I need it to be contained with the div I want it in.
Any help would be appreciated. (This may be a repetitive topic, so sorry about that)
Code:
<div id="HeaderContainer">
<div id="BGHeader"></div>
</div>
#HeaderContainer{
position:relative;
}
#BGHeader {
position:absolute;
top:0;
height:420px;
width:100%;
background-image:url(imagehere.jpg);
background-repeat:repeat-x;
}
You should post your html and css. At least the relevant parts. But having not seen them I would say my best guess is you're using absolute positioning on the header.
You need to wrap that in another element that's relative positioned.
<div id="container">
<header>header here</header>
</div>
where your css is like so:
#container{
position:relative;
}
header{
position:absolute;
top:0;
left:0;
}
If I'm wrong about your needs or situation let me know and I can update.

DOjo dijit.byId('').show(); not working

I am trying to show a component,
<div dojoType="dojox.layout.TableContainer" cols="2" labelWidth="50%" colspan=2 id="durationPane" style="display: none;margin-left: 9px;" showLabels=false>
<div dojoType="dijit.form.DateTextBox" required="true" onChange="var x=arguments[0];x.setDate(x.getDate()+1);dijit.byId('toDate').constraints.min = x;" constraints="{datePattern:'MMM dd yyyy'}" label=" From Date :" id="fromDate" placeHolder="From Date" style="margin-bottom: 50px"></div>
<div dojoType="dijit.form.DateTextBox" require="true" onChange="var x=arguments[0];x.setDate(x.getDate()-1);dijit.byId('fromDate').constraints.max =x;" constraints="{datePattern:'MMM dd yyyy'}" label="To Date :" id="toDate" placeHolder="To Date" name="vpnReport._toDate" ></div>
</div>
dijit.byId('durationPane').show();
But it's not showing.
This is a recurring problem with some Dojo "animation" effects such as show, hide, wipeIn, wipeOut, etc. For some reason, if you want page elements to start hidden, so you can show them latter, you cannot initialize them with "display: none" or "visibility: hidden" in the CSS.
Three different workarounds (all of which imply you do not have "display:none" set in the "durationPane" style):
Add the following CSS to the duration pane: position: absolute; left: -999em; then, when you call .show(), also set style to left:0 - you only need to this the first time you call show, because on the next .hide() / .show(), everything works well. This is probably the worst solution because you have to make your element absolute, which can be messy.
Start with the element visible, and then hide it onload, e.g.
dojo.ready(function() { dijit.byId('durationPane').hide(); });
Start with the element visible, and the add the display:none also onload, e.g.
dojo.style('durationPane', { 'display' : 'none' });
This will do what you want. If anyone out there knows why Dojo has this strange behavior, and if there is a more elegant way to fix this problem, please let us know...
