My code is attempting to retrieve images and display them. I have code that uses the Dropbox API code, it calls searchFileNames("/My Photos", ".jpg", 50, false), so it returns at least 50 results. I need to get the width & height, so for each of the returned items, I then need to call getMetadata() to retrieve that information, so far so good. Now I need a link to the image file that I can use to initially display a thumbnail. I get 50 results back so I need to do something 50 times, such as createShareableLink() or createTemporaryDirectLink() - my issue is that this takes TOO LONG. My tests for 50 items run somewhere close to a FULL minute - TOO SLOW. I could look at getFile() but that's about the same minute range. Maybe another API call where I get the link back in one call that is FASTER? Looking for a faster way to get a direct link to an image in a Dropbox Folder? Any help is appreciated - Thanks
These are the steps that I take to get a link to an image:
https://content.dropboxapi.com/2/files/upload
response
get and store the path_display response from the json
https://api.dropboxapi.com/2/sharing/create_shared_link_with_settings
request
set the path param to path_display from upload call
set settings to { requested_visibility:"public"}
response
You get back url parameter, this is the share link. If you give this to someone they will end up on the dropbox page
If you append to url &raw=1 (maybe ?raw=1) then with that link users will end up directly on the image, rather then on a dropbox page. This is useful for embeding into <img> src attribute.

There is a image upload functionality in my vuejs application.
The image upload works good and the uploaded recorded is also displayed.
But this recently added record get displayed at last in my list. On page refresh it appears at top.
I want to show the recently uploaded image at top as soon as after successful upload.
I have been trying really hard for this since 2 days and couldn't find the solution.
Please help. Vuejs version is 2
basically if I'm correct what you want is to push new images to the images array, for this just use unshift()
something like this
this.images.unshift('url_or_info_of_the_new_image')
Here, you do have an example of code showing you how you could achieve this.
https://codesandbox.io/s/gracious-tree-nig54?file=/src/App.vue
Essentially, the most interesting part is this.initialArray = [this.newValue, ...this.initialArray].
Also, depends on what you've tried until now but keep in mind the few caveats JavaScript does have with VueJS v2: https://v2.vuejs.org/v2/guide/reactivity.html#For-Arrays
I am using the upload image widget without success.
1) result.info.path returns invalid url.
2) There is no preview of the uploaded images due to no.1
3) No images are were uploaded to my media folder at Cloudinary.

These are my preset settings:
Can someone share a working version of this widget + preset settings?
On successful upload, you need to check result.info.secure_url for a link to the asset. Currently, in your preset, you're using Async which means the incoming transformation is performed in the background (asynchronously), and as such, you will get a pending result. Async assumes you're using a Notification URL as a webhook where you'll receive the Upload API response when the processing is complete. In your case, I'd recommend turning the Async off.
Also, your incoming transformation configured in the preset is not valid and because of that, you will be getting an error on upload. Please console.log this in your JSFiddle to see it. Essentially, it'll be -
Auto gravity can only be used with crop, fill, lfill, fill_pad or
thumb
'auto' gravity (g_auto) implies cropping (automatically selecting the most interesting part of the image to focus on) and therefore you need to use an appropriate crop mode. 'scale' keeps all image data and no cropping is made so that is why g_auto can't work with it. Please see the following section of the documentation for details on the different crop modes - https://cloudinary.com/documentation/image_transformation_reference#crop_parameter - which will help you decide which one you want to use.
Lastly, you should also consider updating your incoming transformation so that it only resizes once, since currently, resizing it three times with the same crop mode is redundant. For example, you can use c_scale,q_auto,w_687 only, or if you want with 'auto' gravity you can try c_fill,g_auto,q_auto,w_687.
I am working on an application which will have an option for users to upload images. Once uploaded, the application will show other images from the web which look exactly similar, whether or not of the same size.
For this, I will create a temporary URL for the image so that I could provide Google custom search API the URL of the image. I would expect in response, URL's of images that are exactly the same or similar to it, perhaps in JSON format.
I did find a similar question posted in January. Till then Google did not support anything like this, apparently:
Google Javascript Custom Search API: Search images by image url
One can also simply do:
http://images.google.com/searchbyimage?site=search&image_url={Image URL}
Since that is not part of an official API, it may not be right to use this method.
Can someone help me?
Well, the answer quite simply is TinEye Commercial API https://api.tineye.com/welcome. I was looking in the wrong place I guess, I did not have any luck with Google Custom Search API.
Would you need a simple result?
If you are, you can use Vision API of Google.
This is very simple.
https://cloud.google.com/vision/
You can try on the top.
First, access the URL.
Second, upload your image file on the "Try API"
Third, click "JSON" tab menu on the result.
You can be seen JSON about similar images.
A little background info is that my team and I developed a website for a Real Estate Agency and I've been assigned the task of setting the image of the currently selected property into facebook's sharing feature.
The webpage for the property is dynamic as there are several listings, so what I've done is select the first image that is loaded on the page and set it to the og:image meta tag.
Now let's say I copy the URL and post it on Facebook, it'll show the correct thumbnail, HOWEVER, it'll also show multiple thumbnails from other listings.
All images on the website are over 200 x 200px and are within an aspect ratio of 3:1.
My question is, how do I tell Facebook to only take my initial image and not grab others while it's as it.
Is there perhaps a SelectSingleImage property that I can apply?
I've already spent more time searching for the answer to this issue than I would have liked, so thanks for any help provided, it's much appreciated.
One method I use sometimes is to recognize Facebook's server and simply provide it with different data. This way you can actually only have one image on the page (as far as Facebook knows).
I don't know anything about vb.net, but here is a simple code sample in PHP. All it does is perform a regular expression on the user agent of the request to match it against the string "facebook".
$isFacebook = false;
if(preg_match("/facebook/",strtolower($_SERVER["HTTP_USER_AGENT"]))) {
$isFacebook = true;
}
Facebook may very well change their user agent signature one day, but for now, I'm pretty sure you'll be safe but keep synced with the Developers Blog and the Roadmap.
It seems that Facebook saved those images in cache for some bizarre reason, but to resolve this issue all I had to do was enter the URL into Facebook's Linter tool which in turn cleared the cache on their server.
I've been trying to figure this one out for about a week now and just
can't come up with a good solution. So, I figured I would see if anyone could help me out. Here's one of the links that I'm trying to scrape:
http://content.lib.washington.edu/cdm4/item_viewer.php?CISOROOT=/alaskawcanada&CISOPTR=491&CISOBOX=1&REC=4
I right-clicked to copy image location.
This is the link that is copied:
(Can't paste this as a link because I'm new)
http:// content (dot) lib (dot) washington (dot) edu/cgi-bin/getimage.exe?CISOROOT=/alaskawcanada&CISOPTR=491&DMSCALE=100.00000&DMWIDTH=802&DMHEIGHT=657.890625&DMX=0&DMY=0&DMTEXT=%20NA3050%20%09AWC0644%20AWC0388%20AWC0074%20AWC0575&REC=4&DMTHUMB=0&DMROTATE=0
There is no clear image URL being displayed. Obviously that's
because the image is hidden behind some type of script. Through trial and
error I found that I can put ".jpg" after the "CISOPTR=491" and then the link becomes an Image URL. The problem is that this is not the high-resolution version of the image. To get to the
high-resolution version I have to change the URL even more. I found a lot of articles #Stackoverflow.com to mention trying to build a script using curl and PHP, I have even tried a few of them with no luck. "491" is the image number and I can change that number to find other images in the same directory. So, scraping a sequence of numbers should be pretty easy. But I'm still a noob at scraping and this one is kicking my butt. Here's what I've tried.
Get remote image using cURL then resample
also tried this.
http://psung.blogspot.com/2008/06/using-wget-or-curl-to-download-web.html
I also have Outwit Hub, and Site Sucker, but they don't recognize the URL as an image file and fo they just pass right ove it. I used SiteSucker overnight and it download 40,000 files and only 60 were jpegs, none of which were the ones I wanted.
The other thing I keep running into, is the files I have been able to download manually, the filename is always either getfile.exe or showfile.exe and then if I manually add ".jpg" as the extension I can view the image locally.
How can I reached the original high-res image file, and automate the download process so that I can scrape a couple hundred of these images?
I right-clicked to copy image location. This is the link that is
copied:
You noticed the title has ".exe" in there. Look at the stuff in the query string:
DMSCALE=100.00000
DMWIDTH=802
DMHEIGHT=657.890625
DMX=0
DMY=0
DMTEXT=%20NA3050%20%09AWC0644%20AWC0388%20AWC0074%20AWC0575
REC=4
DMTHUMB=0
DMROTATE=0
Strongly implies the original source of this image is in a database or something and it is being passed thru a server-side filter (not sure if that is what you meant by "some kind of script"). Ie, this is dynamically generated content, not static, and the same caveats apply as would to dynamic text content: you have to figure out what instructions to provide the server to get it to cough up what you want. Which you pretty much have in front of you...if SiteSucker or whatever won't deal with it properly, scrape the address yourself using an HTML parser.
