Distributing Cell Data - sql

I wrote some code today for work and I've ran into an issue where the command I provide the SQL server through VBA doesn't solicit the same quantity of information as if I were to execute the same exact command on the server itself. If I execute the code below in VBA, I get about 25 rows of 68 columns. If I execute the same command on the server itself, I get just over 1500 rows of 68 columns. What I'm doing is selecting either an order number or a date, in a form, and stripping the mountain of data to just what my customer is looking to find. I'm sure this isn't the best way to distribute data across a spreadsheet. I'm looking for suggestions and error corrections!

The issue you are having is that you are performing your rst.MoveNext after you have filled in each cell. Therefore in your first line of output you are picking up the first column of the first record, the second column of the second record, ... the 68th column of the 68th record. Then you are populating the second line of output with the 1st column of the 69th record, etc.
I believe you can replace your entire loop with
Cells(1,1).CopyFromRecordset rst
(replacing the Cells(1,1) with whatever cell you want to be the top-lefthand corner of your results)
but alternatively you could move your rst.MoveNext command inside your If statement, i.e.

update if true and add new if false, criteria problem

Here is what i want: I'm making a code to generate invoices data automatically for me when i select month and year then click cmdbtn; but if customerID with the selected date ([Forms]![F_Reports_Slct]![MnthSlct]) and (....![YrSlct]) exists, then update the values instead of creating new record.
Everything here works fine except editing records if matched criteria..
my data is being recreated again when clicked.
I guess I have some problem with criteria.

Yes. You must make up your mind, if you wish to use a Long or a String. Here, you are casting back and forth between these:

Trying to make code more efficient and stable

I have a program, that works, I just feel that it is running slower than it should and I feel that it is a bit more unstable than it should be. I am looking for tips on writing "better" code and making my program more stable.

Feel free to point out any poor coding and tips on how to improve it. I am currently using the Worksheet Activate sub to activate changes in the tables and get new data, but I suspect that is not the best solution. I am just not sure how else to do it seeing as I want it to be as "automatic" as possible, and use as few buttons to refresh as I can.

Some tips, but none will affect performance, only help make your code more succinct.

.MoveFirst is unnecessary. After opening a recordset, you are always on the first record, if there are records.
When building complex SQL in VBA, have a look at How to debug dynamic SQL in VBA.

How to make excel combobox.value triggering other textbox from access database

i have a combobox that have values from access database, how can i make the combobox as a trigger. When a value was chosen, then other textbox is automatically filled with corresponding value from access database? Thanks

Import data to Excel by VBA and get the same style as do manually

I know how to connect excel to mysql manually, which is to click Data tab->From other sources->Data connection wizard...
The data loaded appear in this style. Note that by default the head line has a different background color than the lines below, and the background color of the other lines changes, the border color is white, etc.
I also learned how to import data by vba.

But the data loaded by vba doesn't have any style.
I believe I must miss something in my code. How should I modify the code so that the data loaded by vba have the same style as the data loaded manually?
The below code will look for 1 table on the active sheet (assuming the ONLY information is the table). It does not matter about the size of the table. It will assume that there are headers. It will then format as your picture is formatted.

Error when parsing a recordset in VBA

Got a stupid problem, it seams simple but I just don't get it.
Got a very simple vba code for an excel sheet:

If I "print" my select, copy it and execute it in an query, it returns 30 rows from my database, but when I execute it from my excel "code" it only returns 1 row, only one line from the 30 lines.
I have checked it and just before x=x+1 the rs.EOF is True. That means either that my record set has only one value (if so why? because my select returns 30 rows) or that I don't parse it correctly. Any hints?

A strange thing that I noticed in your code is that you use the GetRows function in a loop.
GetRows loads the recordset into an array.
Either you loop through the array returned by GetRows, or you loop through the recordset. There is no reason why you would do both at the same time.
In case you loop through the recordset, you would have something like:

Sheet1.Range("B" & x).Value = rs![field_name_2]
Sheet1.Range("C" & x).Value = rs![field_name_3]

To check how many records there are in your recordset, use:
rs.MoveLast
iRecordCount = rs.RecordCount
