This problem happens when you try to deploy an ear/war/jar deployment in jboss7/wildfly and you have not specified what dependencies need your application.
Jboss7/Wildfly has his own module class loader to isolate applications and dependencies running into the same java virtual machine.
All deployments in jboss/wildfly are loaded as modules (not only the content included in modules folder, the content of deployments folder are modules too).
If you don't have packaged "struts" jar into the application deployment file, you will need to deploy the required dependencies as modules and tell to jboss that your application depends on it.
So, you have at least five alternatives:
Build your application as an Uber-Jar including your dependencies
inside.
Deploy your application and dependencies in the deployments folder and add a manifest entry in your application to tell to jboss that
your application depends on it.
Deploy your application and application dependencies (jars) in the deployments folder and add a jboss deployment descriptor xml in your
application to tell to jboss that your application depends on it.
Deploy your application in the deployments folder and create modules for your dependencies (if do not exist) and add a manifest
entry in your application to tell to jboss that your application
depends on it.
Deploy your application in deployments folder and create modules for your dependencies (if do not exist) and use a jboss deployment
descriptor xml in your application to tell to jboss that your
application depends on it.

Geoserver 2.14+ fails on Glassfish4+ - Anyone succeeded with this?

During hardware migration, thought it sensible to upgrade Geoserver from 2.13.0 to 2.14.2 on Glassfish 4.0 hoping to cure flakiness.
JVM is configured to use a non-standard data directory using JVM parameter:
-DGEOSERVER_DATA_DIR=/geoserver
Using the .war downloaded from Geoserver.org, deployment fails
2.15.x exhibits the same failure
2.13.0 deploys and runs, albeit with some flakiness (similar stack track shown on the home-page of geoserver once logged in)
The issue appears platform independent, environments used:
Windows 10 X64 running Oracle Java 1.8.0_161 on Glassfish 4 OR Glassfish 5 (including fresh out-of box installs of Glassfish)
CentOS 7 running OpenJDK 1.8.0_222 on Glassfish 4
The WAR did deploy on a localhost (W10) install of TomCat, albeit without the custom data directory set
If latest GeoServer builds could be made to work on Glassfish 4, this would save considerable time and expense
Any suggestions appreciated

The reason why you are seeing this is because the application you are trying to deploy packages a different Google Guava version than the one that Glassfish ships with. Unfortunately Glassfish favours its own packaged version which does not have the method com.google.common.base.Preconditions.checkNotNull(Ljava/lang/Object;Ljava/lang/String;Ljava/lang/Object;)Ljava/lang/Object;).
There exist some (more or less involved) workarounds.
https://github.com/eclipse-ee4j/glassfish/issues/20850
Since you seem to have a WAR archive, this comment https://github.com/eclipse-ee4j/glassfish/issues/20850#issuecomment-422010251 suggests that it might be enough to disable the classloader delegation in the glassfish-web.xml. Maybe you are lucky and this is indeed helping with your WAR file.
Otherwise you'll have to switch to Payara which seems to have this bug fixed since some time.

I cannot deploy a remote EJB using Netbeans 8.1 Wildfly 10

I have created two maven projects
A jar project to store remote interfaces. (project name: ejblib)
A Java EE 7 EJB module to implement the interfaces. (project name: ejb)
My setup works fine when deploying to glassfish 4 but won't work in WildFly.
Below is the stack trace.

It's true, the mule-module-sqs-3.0.0.jar downloaded by Maven doesn't contain such class. I rebuild the Amazon SQS connector's source code with little changes in the pom.xml: set <minimizeJar>false</minimizeJar> for the maven-shade-plugin. Then the missing class appeared in the jar and I managed to run the project without errors.
Not sure is it a bug or not but don't like the idea to build the connector manually. Will really appreciate if you help me to sort it out. Thanks.

Error when deploying on JBoss AS 7.1

I am having a problem with deploying my application on JBoss AS 7.1. Here is what happened, we have a project that has been build on JDK 1.4 currently running on JRun 4. We are migrating the project to JDK 1.7 and deploy on JBoss AS 7.1.1.
Made required changes to the project compile in eclipse using JDK 1.7 like "enum", changed implementation of Log4j, etc. However the current project heavily relies on jaxb ver 1.0 implementation (which we would make changes over a period of time to the latest jaxb version and convert the project to web services).
However when I try to deploy the same project in JBoss I get an error as below, any help to get this resolved would be really appreciated.

From the error stack you can see that:
Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.apache.xalan.xslt.XSLTResultTarget from [Module "deployment.presto.war:main" from Service Module Loader]
So the class jar file getting loaded is from default JBOSS Modules and clearly the xalan.jar that comes with the JBoss 7(jboss-as-7.1.1.Final\modules\org\apache\xalan\main) does not contain that that class:
You need to either start using the jar file that your application refers to by replacing it with this jar(which is not reccomended) or use jboss-deployment-structure.xml to do so. This link could help you to decide what works best for you

Error while deploying ADF application in glassfish

Hello I am using JDeveloper 11.1.2.3.0
I have configured Glassfish in my computer and I have followed the instructions as Shay explained here: https://blogs.oracle.com/shay/entry/deploying_oracle_adf_applications_to
The problem is that when I try to deploy my ADF application as "Deploy to application server" with glassfish in this case I get an error saying that:
[#|2013-08-21T11:45:47.516+0200|SEVERE|glassfish3.1.2|org.apache.catalina.core.ContainerBase|_ThreadID=62;_ThreadName=Thread-2;|ContainerBase.addChild: start:
org.apache.catalina.LifecycleException: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: oracle.adf.share.glassfish.listener.ADFGlassFishAppLifeCycleListener
If I deploy the ADF aplication as an EAR file and then I try to deploy this EAR file to glassfish through the admin interface I get this other error:
[#|2013-08-21T15:40:16.452+0200|SEVERE|glassfish3.1.2|javax.enterprise.system.tools.deployment.org.glassfish.deployment.common|_ThreadID=65;_ThreadName=Thread-2;|Exception while invoking class com.sun.enterprise.web.WebApplication start method
java.lang.Exception: java.lang.IllegalStateException: ContainerBase.addChild: start: org.apache.catalina.LifecycleException: java.lang.RuntimeException: com.sun.faces.config.ConfigurationException: CONFIGURATION FAILED! javax.el.ELContext
Can anyone help on this?
A few things to check-
Did you extract the adf-essentials zip file with the -j option?
Did you mark both your model and view project to have a deployment platform for Glassfish?\
Please make sure that application is deleted from application folder. If not stop-admin server and delete it manually.
