I am using Octave on Window vista. I am using 4 package in my code. But every time I restart octave, I have to load manually from command line, 'pkg load ...'
Is there a way to load them permanently so that whenever Octave is started it finds them in its path.
When Octave starts, it runs ~/.octaverc. If you want Octave to automatically load a package, simply add a pkg load pkg-name command to it. If the files does not exist, create it.
If you do this, remember that other people may not have Octave configured to load packages at startup. Therefore, if you write code for others, remember that your programs still need to load the packages they require.
Do not use pkg install -auto ... or pkg rebuild -auto .. because that will stop working on the next Octave release.
I got the answer.
It can be set at the time of package installation.
install with following command
pkg install -auto [package name]
It will be load every time octave is started.
create a file named "startup.m" with this content:
packs = pkg('list');
for jj = 1:numel(packs),
pkg('load', packs{jj}.name);
end
in the directories "octave-home/share/octave/version/m/startup/octaverc" and "octave-home/share/octave/site/m/startup/octaverc". (https://www.gnu.org/software/octave/doc/v4.2.1/Startup-Files.html)
So it loads all packages at startup.
Install the packages on your working directory. Then add "pkg load pkg_name" command to octave-1.1~\share\octave\site\m\startup\octaverc. It will load the package every time.

At first, I tried to fix my problem of npm instruction
so I added
[interop]
appendWindowsPath = false
to /etc/wsl.conf
It works, but another problem happen.
When I type code .
Command 'code' not found, did you mean:
command 'node' from deb nodejs (12.22.9~dfsg-1ubuntu3)
command 'cdde' from deb cdde (0.3.1-1build1)
command 'ode' from deb plotutils (2.6-11)
command 'tcode' from deb emboss (6.6.0+dfsg-11ubuntu1)
command 'cde' from deb cde (0.1+git9-g551e54d-1.2)
Try: sudo apt install <deb name>
The above Error message appear.
I tried the following instruction
export PATH=$PATH:"/mnt/c/Users/%USERNAME%/AppData/Local/Programs/Microsoft VS Code/bin"
It also works properly.
Whenever I restarted WSL, npm instruction still worked well, but code instruction lost its function again.
What should I do to fix the problem?
Thanks in advance!
My main suggestion would be to not use appendWindowsPath = false to fix your NPM problem. That's like using a sledgehammer as a flyswatter. As I said in this answer:
Please do not follow the recommendations (like this answer) to completely remove all Windows paths from WSL, as that will severely limit your ability to run Windows applications in WSL (one of its great features).
You'll also lose access to the ability to run PowerShell scripts and commands in WSL easily. You won't have direct access to wsl.exe itself from inside WSL (which comes in handy).
You can type the full paths to these commands, of course, but most instructions and other answers you find here are going to assume that you've left the Windows path intact.
Instead, figure out where npm is installed in your WSL distribution and then determine why it is further toward the end of the PATH than your Windows directories. Windows paths are added at the end of the Linux PATH for a reason. If something in your startup files is adding to the path, it should put it at the beginning, so it has precedence. E.g.:
export PATH="newdir:$PATH"
Note that I'm not saying that you should change your export statement above since, as mentioned, that Windows path would normally come at the end anyway. It's really not going to matter unless you put another code executable somewhere else in your path.
Whenever I restarted WSL, npm instruction still worked well, but code instruction lost its function again.
If you do want the "quick and dirty" (not recommended) solution, then you can simply add that export command that "makes it work" to your ~/.bashrc. That file is processed each time the Bash shell starts interactively.
Steps to reproduce are very easy.
Create a Dockerfile.
My Dockerfile has many more lines, but I have trimmed them so we can focus in the source of the problem.
Said that, these two lines alone (without anything more) show the problem.
FROM microsoft/iis
SHELL ["powershell", "-Command", "$ErrorActionPreference = 'Stop'; $ProgressPreference = 'SilentlyContinue'; $VerbosePreference = 'Continue'; "]
Run docker build . and you get hcsshim::PrepareLayer - failed failed in Win32: FunciĆ³n incorrecta. (0x1).
Windows 10 Pro 1909 (but it happened too in 1903)
Docker version: 2.1.0.5
Engine: 19.03.5
Machine: 0.16.2
I have found the solution to the problem.
Reading all the https://github.com/docker/for-win/issues/3884 bug, some have found a simple solution: rename C:\windows\system32\driver\cbfsconnect2017.sys so it isn't loaded the next boot.
Disabling that driver enables me to do a docker build for the first time in windows containers in almost a year.
In my case Box Sync was the one using that driver.
EDIT: #GustavoTM have found that pCloud raises the same problem.
EDIT2: #VonC have noticed that some people in the issue in GitHub has solved it deleting this other file: C:\Windows\System32\drivers\cbfs6.sys. I haven't tried that, but i put it if it helps others.
The good thing is that I don't need to uninstall Box, but only rename that file.
This is still an issue (still open) with Win10.
Looks like uninstalling cloud storage providers with file system filters like Dropbox, Box, etc. as a workaround is an option for some users.
Deinstall cloud storage providers or virus scanners; if you identify which one is not working please share in https://github.com/docker/for-win/issues/3884
In my case was the problem similar but the file cbfs6.sys was placed somewhere in the rest of uninstalled application Jungle disk, somewhere in the folder c:\Program files\Jungle disk .... It's part of Callback File System signed by EldoS Corporation.
The folder could be rename only and not delete directly. So I could delete its immediately after the PC restart, before running the Docker. So it could be delete during the Docker service restart too.
I'm following Odoo's documentation to use the --dev all parameter when I run odoo-bin, in order to have Python models get updated when I change the source code without me having to restart the server. According to the documentation, the reload flag (which is part of all) doesn't work with some text editors. I've been using Sublime Text, and that doesn't seem to work because my model changes don't take effect until I restart the server. Is there a good, commonly used text editor which does work with the reload parameter, or is there a list of text editors which work with it?
If you're running Odoo from the command line via a standard ./odoo-bin --dev reload command then you should not have any issues as long as you have the lib dependencies setup.
Make sure to monitor your log for errors. It requires the watchdog library to be installed via pip install watchdog. Take a look at (currently line 943) of the core files https://github.com/odoo/odoo/blob/10.0/odoo/service/server.py to see how dev reload works:
def start(preload=None, stop=False):
...
watcher = None
if 'reload' in config['dev_mode']:
if watchdog:
watcher = FSWatcher()
watcher.start()
else:
_logger.warning("'watchdog' module not installed. Code autoreload feature is disabled")
if 'werkzeug' in config['dev_mode']:
server.app = DebuggedApplication(server.app, evalex=True)
I am not completely sure, but after doing a quick search on the text editor that I have been primarily using (Atom developed by GitHub), I believe it may have what you're looking for.
Have fun with your future endeavors. I hope my answer helps.
Since odoo uses werkzeug server,you can just use the command line argument to start the server, and everything will be taken care by the server.
./openerp-server --auto-reload
this will restart the server whenever .py file is modified.
I have just installed MSys2 (https://msys2.github.io, msys2-x86_64-20150916.exe) on my Windows 10 computer.
Once installed, the terminal is launched. But as soon as I stop it and relaunch it, I get the error: "Failed to run /sbin/nologin: No such file or directory".
Any idea on what to do?
You should figure out why Bash is trying to run /sbin/nologin. Check your Windows home directory (e.g. C:\Users\Joe) for files like .bash_profile, .profile, and .bashrc. Inspect those files and find which one is calling nologin.
If that doesn't help, try creating an empty file in C:/msys64/sbin/nologin, or wherever you actually installed MSYS2. An empty file would be a valid shell script and run without errors.
If the error is non-fatal you might consider just ignoring it.
How to automatically run my program after performing a /verysilent install?
I can automatically run my program after a normal install by using DisableFinishedPage=yes in the [Setup] section (that disables the finish page and will run the program immediately after install, without user intervention).
However if I use the /verysilent parameter that won't work: my program installs but won't automatically run afterwards.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Apparently it's working fine now. I just removed skipifsilent flag from the Run section!
