I am using IntelliJ 2016.1 and wondering if where to find a list of "Scratches"? In Android Studio it was in the drop down Project menu.
I have looked through all the settings and cannot find it.
Do Scratches ONLY apply to Java? Or can I use them for PHP/Python?
I can use a HOTKEY can create a Scratch, but I dont know how to get it on my menu.
Does anyone know?

If you click the sideways triangle after Packages you can select scratches.
Then check the Scratches checkbox.
Or you can bring up the Select Target menu by pressing Alt F1 and then navigating to Project View and then Scratches.
Scratches can be in any language.

I am using IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate v 13.1, and I am fond of using key board short cuts, rarely use mouse. I am relatively new to this IDE as earlier I always worked on eclipse.
My question is about performing right click operations by pressing the right click key on key board (usually found near the right side Ctrl key on external key boards). The problem is when I press this key, nothing happens but when I click the mouse right click and things just happen. This is applicable on editor, project explorer and I guess everywhere in the IDE.
Is there a switch I should turn on and it will work or any other way to get key board right click work in IDEA? Thanks very much for your responses.
I know it is an old question, but it popped up as 1st result when I searched for my issue, and I figured it out with some of the context in Ketan#'s answer.
Fix:
Go to File -> Settings -> Keymap
Search for "Show Context Menu"
Add a new keyboard shortcut. When prompted, press the "right click" (aka "context menu") key.
For me, It simply works after just restart the IntelliJ IDE
Sometimes accidents just happen for good! This one falls in that category :)
Somehow IDEA was unable to load any of my projects, and I thought of deleting '.IntelliJIdea13' directory from my user directory. Initially I didn't change my keymap (shortcuts) to Eclipse and right click just works fine.
In any case the problem is there for IntelliJ to fix. They should allow right click from keyboard to work even when shortscuts are mapped to Eclipse style.
I tried to change the shortcuts to Eclipse and keyboard right click stopped working. When I change it to default, it starts working.
If you was installed it with jetbrains toolbox you can't made it easily.

In my IntelliJ Idea 13.1.2 IDE I keep running into situations where I'm selecting on a click and drag via my laptop touch pad. I keep accidentally clicking and dragging text and cutting lines. I've searched the options and settings panels for the words click and drag but I don't see a way to turn this feature off. IntelliJ's help talks about how to use click and drag cutting but doesn't say how to disable it.
Does anyone know how to disable cut and paste through click and drag in the IntelliJ IDE?
I found it in Settings → Editor → General.
Under the Mouse heading. The option is called "Enable Drag'n'Drop functionality in editor".
This also seems to disable drag and drop moving of files though.
In WebStorm 2020.1 (and presumably in other Jetbrains IDEs), the related option 'Move code fragments with drag-and-drop' is in Preferences > Editor > General:
Unchecking the checkbox does the trick without unwanted side effects such as also disabling the drag-and-drop operations for files etc.
There is no way to disable Drag-n-drop highlighted text in the editor itself!!! ALT guard for drag-n-drop files is a good idea as I accidentally drag and drop files on daily basis. Kudos for discovering that I just enabled it.
I have contacted Intellij support to give us a setting that we can disable in editor drag and drop. I think that is a stupid feature in the first place...
I am just evaluating IntelliJ IDEA. Installed it with default procedures.
I created a simple Spring project and when I right click on the project, not able to see the the bottom part of the pop up menu. The issue is because of my laptop screen's height is less and could not fit the entire set of pop-up menu items.
In eclipse there is a drop down arrow, so that I can scroll to the menu items, which do not fit in the screen. How can I get the similar eclipse functionality in IntelliJ?
Well, you are only missing one useful feature (Genereate Java code from wsdl). I would ignore it unless you need to generate such code.
If you want to run this generation you can do this with Ctrl + Shift + A (and start typing feature name)

Those popups (or tooltips) has been my worst annoyance in the editor for a while. There is how I fixed it:
On the editor, at the bottom-right of the window, there is a head icon. Click it and uncheck the box "Import popup".

TOTALLY: Open Settings (or Pereferences, if you are OS X user) dialog, choose Editor | Inspections. On the Mange tab (right pane of the dialog) select Copy. Then click the language node. Here you can find the setion that is probably responsible for your tooltips and disable it. Or disable the whole language node, if you like. This way you have all the IDE features working and no tooltips at all. You can return back to Project Default inspections profile when you need it.
PARTIALLY: Try to disable the respected intention action. Press Alt+Enter when you see the tooltip, select the action from the list and press the right arrow key. In the context menu, select "Disable".

How to do it fast in IntelliJ IDEA?
Is there any keyboard shortcut?
Open Project View tool window, switch to the Packages view mode, click on the gear icon, enable Flattern Packages option, disable Show Modules option.
Start typing the package name to activate the speed search.
Another option is to use Navigate | Class, type your.package.*, select some class, press Alt+Home for the navigation bar popup, use arrows to select the package, press F4 (may not work if navigation bar is not floating, but enabled in the View menu instead).
There is one more easy way, though specifically, it wont only search packages.
What you can do is a global search:
Ctrl + Shift + F
Be sure of focusing on the Project tab and then knock the keyboard, just look what is happening, maybe help you:)
Another easier way is to use the "Search Everywhere" option
1. Double click Shift button.
2. Enter the package name.
Though the result will not be on the top of the list, its easy to locate.
