get bootstrap by NPM and include to html - twitter-bootstrap-3

Generally I am using CDN (or nuget) for including Bootstrap or other client side libraries to my website
Recently I read about NPM/Bower and other modern package-management tools, and decided to try
After some time of surfing and investigating I am now completely puzzled, how to just download and include bootstrap distrib css/js files to my page like it was....
1 st Try, I install bootstrap with NPM, it downloads whole Bootstrap with all sources/modules and etc to the node_module directory... well, I found distributions in node_modules/Bootstrap/dist folder
now questions:
Should I link node_modules/Bootstrap/dist/ css and js files to my site?
If yes, should I then deploy whole node_modules folder with website?
if No, and I know that npm package is modular and bla bla bla and should be included by require("bootstrap") than lots of other questions
is require("bootstrap") node js or some oter js function?
should I include some other node packages or js files in order require("bootstrap") to work
where should I write require("bootstrap") in html in script tag? create some js and include it or what?
2 nd try, Ok than I understand that npm might be package management for NodeJs server side, and got bower... but again it downloads the same files to another folder bower_components and again same questions...

As you mentioned, bower works well for this use case. Change the destination of the bower_components directory as described here How to change bower's default components folder?
then include as you normally would. Do not use the require function since that is for nodejs server side only.

Blazor Javascript isolation with NPM dependencies

I'm trying to use the new Blazor Javascript isolation feature. I'm importing my own JS file as per the example ExampleJsInterop.cs. It works until I try to import an NPM module from within my script. In my package.json I have set up a dependency on interactjs, and in my script I have added import interact from 'interactjs'; at the top.
I'm getting a Failed to resolve module specifier "interactjs" error. I'm not sure how to get past that.
Previously I was using Webpack to bundle my script and dependencies together into a single file that is added into my index.html as a tag. This was working fine, but I'm not sure how to continue using NPM packages with JS isolation.

A bit late, but I've just finished solving a similar issue.
The npm files are installed to the hidden node_modules folder. This isn't available to your script when you are running your app, unless you do something to make it available. however, even if you copied the interactjs file into your scripts folder it would still not work if it was an npm file. Those are meant to run in nodejs not a browser. So you would still need to use your bundler. I tried webpack, but had some issues with certain files so ended up with snowpack instead. I just finished a bunch of articles on javascript interop - part 4 deals with npm
I forgot that I left this question open for almost a year!

How to use Font Awesome after it being installed with Yarn

I am using VS 2019 for Core 3.1 development and I installed Font Awesome whith Yarn:
yarn add #fortawesome/fontawesome-free
However, whenI try to reference it in my HEAD section like this:
<script defer src="~/lib/#fortawesome/fontawesome-free/js/all.js"></script>
I get the following error:

Package managers like yarn, npm, etc. just add the packages to your project. They generally aren't ready to deploy directly at that point, but rather require a build pipeline to create the actual JS/CSS resources. The #fortawesome/fontawesome repo is an exception in that 1) it's not actually a package and 2) the files are already "built". Even then, though, they still won't be in the right location.
I'm not overly familiar with yarn, but npm, for example, puts everything in a node_modules directory. That directory is not served by default, and should not be served, because it contains "raw" stuff. You'd need a separate build pipeline (using npm scripts, webpack, gulp, etc.) to build/copy assets into a directory that is served (i.e. wwwroot). That is likely the piece you are missing.
For this, since there's no build actually required, you just need to have the assets copied to something like wwwroot/lib and then you'll be able to reference it via the script tag on the page. That can be done with any tool like npm, webpack, gulp, grunt, etc. so you'll just have to research and pick the one that fits your needs best.

SailsJS Include node_module in view

I'm using sails(http://sailsjs.com) to develop a little platform. Everything goes smoothly following the documentation. But being new to this javascript frameworks world and npm etc etc, i've been having a trouble including other node_modules and use them in the .ejs views...
I understand not all modules are to be included in the views but how can I manage to include some?

Your confusion is understandable. The issue is that, until relatively recently, things installed in node_modules were solely for use in the back end code; that is, your Sails.js controller actions, models, etc. After all, the node_modules folder has the word "Node" right in it, and it was created for use with NPM (the Node Package Manager) to help organize Node (i.e. server-side JavaScript) files!
While many front-end plugins were (and still are) published on Bower, newer frameworks like Angular 2 and Vue often publish their plugins to NPM because it reduces the number of moving parts for your app. The problem is, if you try to require('vue-slider-component') in your server-rendered .ejs view, the server (i.e. Sails.js) will try and load and run that code before it renders the view, where what you really want is for that plugin to run in the browser.
The long-term solution is to use something like Browserify or Webpack to compile all of your front-end JavaScript files into a "bundle". So for example if you have a file like assets/js/my-vue-app.js that includes the line:
import vueSlider from 'vue-slider-component/src/vue2-slider.vue'
then Browserify will see that line, load up that vue2-slider.vue file, add it to the top of the my-vue-app.js file, perform some other magic, combine it with your other front-end .js files and output a file like browserified.js which you would then include via <script src="/path/to/browserified.js"> in your HTML.
Since new Sails apps use Grunt to organize and inject those <script> tags into your views for you, it can be kinda confusing as to how you would get something like Browserify or Webpack to work with Sails. For Sails 1.0, there's a seed project for using Webpack instead of Grunt. For Sails v0.12.x, you'll have to Google around to find some examples of using Broswerify or Webpack with Sails.
A short-term solution, and probably not as maintainable in the long run, is to save the contents of the minified vue-js-slider component into your assets folder (e.g. as assets/js/vue-slider-component.js), add it to your HTML with <script src="/js/vue-slider-component.js"> and access it in your code as window['vue-slider-component'].

Should I include whole bower_components and node_modules folder in my web project?

When I download a package in bower or npm, many irrelevant/not-useful files also
get included especially in npm packages. I generally only include .css or .js files of that package for e.g. in bootstrap e.t.c. But for package like polymer or Anjular.js or Electron we need multiple other file too. So when I deploy my project should I include the complete folder or just copy the required files separately or is there any other approach ?
When you deploy to your production server, a good approach would be to only include the files you are actually using. You should also create an optimized file to serve to the client.
To achieve that, you normally have a deploy script that generates one or more minified .css or .js files (for example, vendor.js for libraries and bundle.js for your code).
This script can be build with tools like grunt, gulp or you can use a module bundler like Webpack or Jspm.
You can create your own Grunt or Gulp script like the ones in this website.
When using a module bundler and modern javascript to organize your code, you'll build, for example, an entry javascript file (bundle.js) that will look like

import {AnOtherLibrary} from 'an-other-library';
console.log(MyLibrary.saySomething());
In this case, Webpack handles the node_modules imports and the creation / minification / concatenation of the production version of .js files.
As you said, there are multiple files to be included (js, css or even fonts) so configuring your scripts may take some time. Try finding a Yeoman generator that uses your frameworks, and use the deploy scripts others already created for this purpose. This one uses AngularJS, Bower and Grunt. This one uses Webpack and ReactJS.

which angular2 js file should be added in on the client side?

I am a semi noob in web development.
I just started playing around with angular2 today. And i ran into a problem..
If I were to install angular2 with npm to my local computer, which file is the js file that should be linked to the html page that show up on the client?
In their guide, i see a file called /node_modules/angular2/bundles/angular2.sfx.dev.js. But i don't even see this file at all.
Is there some script that i should run to build that file? Or is the file renamed? I am really confused.
I tried some file /angular2/bundles/angular2.js, but it doesn't even export ng variable to window!
I see that in https://code.angularjs.org/2.0.0-alpha.44/angular2.sfx.dev.js, eventually ng gets exported. But what changed in alpha 53? (the version i get for doing npm install angular2)

You might additionally need to install/add systemjs, just in case you are using the systemjs library.
