Metasploitable 2 stuck at starting up - virtual-machine

I have installed a metasploitable 2 VM on my virtual box penetesting lab. I used the download straight from Rapid7's website and still I am having issues. The VM is also setup using a internal network that I setup for all of the VM's to communicate. It has been stuck at starting up for the past hour. I have also tried to reinstall the VM, but still no luck. If you have any answers on how to make it run please responnd. This is what has looked like for the past hour

I had this problem also, and it seemed to be due to the vmdk file being on another HD from VirtualBox. I copied it over to the C drive where virtual box was, deleted the old VM that wasn't working and started a new one with the copied vmdk.

Wamp (apache) stops working after windows 10 upgrade

I'm an old dog (75) not very good at learning new tricks.
I still use Coral_8_0_0 to create my WAMP server and am comfortable with it, so please don't tell me to upgrade to 13_3_2_ZeroXIII.
I have tried that and haven't yet worked out how to have several websites in the vhosts folder and get to them via the localhost.
I promise that I will sort that out - but, meanwhile, I have another more pressing problem:
I am running Windows 10 on a desktop computer, and I have Apache running as a service and I can :
Stop it when I like and restart it when I want;
Maintain 13 websites in the vhosts folder;
Look at each site via the localhost.
A few weeks ago the Windows 10 OS was upgraded for April 2018 to version 1803, and my setup stopped working :
I could not stop or start apache either as a service or as a programme;
I could not look at my local sites via localhost.
This was really annoying as I update most of these sites on a daily/weekly basis.
Also Dreamweaver did not work properly as it could not access the local site.
I uninstalled the version 1803 upgrade and - magic - Apache and Dreamweaver and the localhost worked perfectly again.
HOW CAN I OVERCOME THIS PROBLEM ?
I sync everything to my laptop which also has windows 10 (not yet upgraded) where everything works as I like.
Today - the 1803 upgrade arrived and I installed it to see what would happen.
Alas - Apache and localhost stopped (like on the desktop machine) so I uninstalled the upgrade and everything reverted back to normal.
I would like to solve this problem before I get stuck into sorting out the latest version of WAMP.
Any help will be gladly received. Thanks in advance.

wkhtmltopdf hangs on 10% and does not generate PDF

I'm using WKHtmlToPdf to generate some docs here at work, in internal applications, for over one and half year without any problem. Some applications are coded in C++, some in AutoIt3, and today, after restarting all the computers due to external reasons (power generator would be tested), wkhtmltopdf stopped working on all machines at my company.
I can't even run it from command line. Whether I try to convert a webpage or a local HTML file, it always hangs on 10%. All our machines are Windows 8 32 bits and runs their own install (the applications aren't running under a network share).
I tried downloading wkhtmltopdf again from the website, installing it, etc, but nothing worked. I also tried adding --disable-javascript option, which also didn't work. Cleaning %TEMP% folder did not help too.
I never faced anything like this. All the machines were restarted normally, going to start menu, etc. And it does not look like a network issue, since I'm accessing internet to write this, and we are a small company, we use a standard Wi-Fi router, just like your house. Nothing was changed, no file deleted, no Windows update, no network settings... just a restart. I saw some guys facing the same problem when trying to run wkhtmltopdf from PHP, but in this case, I have this problem even by running it from DOS, as anyone would do.
wkhtmltoimage is working fine. Just wkhtmltopdf stopped working.
Screenshot
In my case, wkhtmltopdf was hanging on files locally stored after the progress counter had made an initial jump to the percentage corresponding to 1 page. It turned out that I had an http_proxy variable set to some unaccessible proxy server. Clearing this environment variable solved the issue.

VirtualBox RawDisk error : VERR ACCESS DENIED

I'd like to boot VirtualBox to the external hard drive I have that runs Windows 8 To Go, as the computer running virtual box is one that I can't boot to the drive during certain hours, but I'd still like to be able to interact with the OS on that drive.
I found a guide for creating a raw VM DK disk file for my external drive, and ran the commands for it in an administrator command prompt, which was listed as a requirement in the article I was reading.
At first, I'd boot to the drive with my VirtualBox machine, and it would ask me to enter the BitLocker encryption password.
I'd enter it, and before the spinning circles of the Windows loading logo would make a complete rotation, VBox would give me an error popup saying "Error: VERR_ACCESS DENIED".
I researched the issue a bit online and found that some users had resolved this issue by turning on 'Use host I/O cache' on the VirtualBox Storage controller.
I tried this, and the machine did indeed make it farther and stopped displaying an error message, only now it stays on the windows loading screen indefinitely, or may even restart itself.
I checked the log file and am seeing several non-displayed error messages of 'VERR_ACCESS DENIED".
Running virtual box itself as an administrator has had no effect.
Has anyone else tried this successfully? Does anyone have any tips?
I'd appreciate productive suggestions instead of criticism against 'why' I'm doing something.
Thank you!

TIA PORTAL v11. Open existing project

I have to use an existing project in STEP7/TIA PORTAL v11 and I have the PLC (CPU 1212C AC/DC/RLY) with the code downloaded inside it which is connected to a touch panel (KTP600 Basic Color PN).
What I want is to download the code from the PLC to my computer to try to modify it, is this posible?
Because I've tried to connect it to my PC and it doesn't detect it. It turns on the ERROR and the MAINT leds in red.
The configuration is over a virtual machine (VMware player with Windows 7) because my PC has Windows 8 installed and it doesn't support TIA PORTAL is there any problem with this?
If program was uploaded with TIA11 it is not good idea to use v13. What is more with other version you need new licence keys.
From your vm ping the plc address if itis in right subnet. Then serch for sccessible nodes. On your picture i see that you should try using 'search all accessible devices'.
Upgrade to version 13 of TIA Portal. This version can run under Windows 8.
Under VMWare you have to change the network settings for your Virtual Machine to bridged. Also install VMWware Tools.
Those are some steps that I would try.
make sure you can ping it from inside your Virtual Machine. It will validate the route to the plc (cable, network config). It’s not a necessary step to connect to a plc, but it’s a good check.
Go to Control Panel on Windows, then PG/PC , then make sure that you have the right Hardware Interface Active
If you still not able to see the PLC, I advise you to to download PRONETA, if it still doesn’t show up there, then the research would have to go deeper. Until today, I’ve only one time in all year when a device have not apeares in Proneta.

Headless Raspbian server diagnostics (on RaspberryPi)

I own a RaspberryPi that I can connect only through ssh. A few days ago it was unsafely powered off. Now when I turn it on I cannot access it. It looks like it turns on but can't get an ip or so.
It is ptovided by fixed IP from router, and when I try to ping this IP, it tells me that the destination host is unreachable.
Is there a way to find out what has happened or the only way is to complete reinstall the OS?
One possibility is that the systems rootfs has been corrupted, this happened to me once with unsafe powerdown on a raspi.
If you have another sd-card, the easiest would be to install a fresh image on it and check if it boots correctly. If not, make an image of your current sd-card, format and reinstall.
Hopefully you've got backups, as there's no guarantee to recover your files if the data has been corrupted.
