intellij accessing invalid virtual file

Please help me I am stuck due to below weird behavior of Intellij 2021.2.4(Ultimate Edition)
I am getting error after opening project in Intellij as below :
"Accessing invalid virtual file: file://; original:12323; found:12333; File.exists()=true.
I restarted my machine on weekend and then opened the Intellij Idea today morning .
I have tried below solutions but in vain
1.Invalid Caches
2.Remove idea64.exe.vmoptions
Thanks in advance .
I had this same issue just now. For me, I was running our app via JavaScript Debug task and the app would immediately fail; I'd get the error message in a "red balloon" above my Debug tool window tab.
Following the advice of #Andrey I checked the logs. Sure enough, there was a hint:
com.intellij.openapi.vfs.InvalidVirtualFileAccessException: Accessing invalid virtual file: file:///Users/randy/projects/..../.../notifications; original:804838; found:805846; File.exists()=true
at com.intellij.openapi.vfs.newvfs.impl.VirtualDirectoryImpl.handleInvalidDirectory(VirtualDirectoryImpl.java:190)

at com.intellij.javascript.debugger.breakpoints.JSLineBreakpointHandler.registerBreakpoint(JSLineBreakpointHandler.kt:17)
at com.intellij.javascript.debugger.breakpoints.JSLineBreakpointHandler.registerBreakpoint(JSLineBreakpointHandler.kt:12)
IntelliJ was trying to register breakpoints when it crashed. From there, I simply opened the Breakpoints dialog and trashed everything since they were all recent and moot anyway.
After that, I just closed the debug browser window that was left from my last failed attempt, then reran the Debug config. Everything worked as expected.

intellij IDEA - Edit Configuration

I installed IntelliJ IDEA with Java10.
I am having troubles with the build and run. I am being asked to edit the configuration.
I have specified the JDK 10 in the module settings. Is that a bug ?
And, I get this error when I try to compile with a random configuration setting.
Error: Could not find or load main class
Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException:
this part is really confusing and not really user-friendly and well documented by JetBrain I find
Right mouse click on the code window and select Run Your_file_name.kt
It will show you the green button to run the script instantly like below screenshot. click on that button.

Geb/Spock Error- No reports dir has been configured, you need to set in the config file or via the build adapter

I have trouble running my functional test from IntelliJ IDE. When I run the functional test, I got the following error message:
java.lang.IllegalStateException: No reports dir has been configured, you need to set in the config file or via the build adapter.
at geb.Browser.getReportGroupDir(Browser.groovy:899)
at geb.Browser.cleanReportGroupDir(Browser.groovy:932)
at geb.spock.GebSpec.methodMissing(GebSpec.groovy:56)
at geb.spock.GebReportingSpec.setupSpec(GebReportingSpec.groovy:37)
Based on my research, all I need to do is to add the following code in GebConfig.groovy:
reportsDir = new File("target/runtime_reports_dir")
I added the line to GebConfig.groovy and rebuild the project, but still running into the same issue. Is there any other fix to this error?
Adding reportsDir = 'target/geb-reports' to your GebConfig shoud fix this, can you show me your GebConfig file?
There is also another fix for it, your test class extends GebReportingSpec, you can chage it to GebSpec and it should also work.
I had this same issue, while having the reportsDir correctly configured in the GebConfig
Adding the resources folder (where my GebConfig is located) as "Test Sources Root" did the trick for me
To mark the folder as "Test Sources Root":
Right click in the folder
Mark Directory as
Test Sources Root
Happy testing!

How do I start seeing an Event Log message that I chose to not see again?

In my Event Log in Intellij IDEA 2016, I used to see this message:
Unlinked Gradle project?
Import Gradle project, this will also enable Gradle Tool Window.
Don't want to see the message for the project again: press here.
At some point, I clicked on the "press here" link indicating that I don't want to see the message again. Since then, I have decided that I'd like to see it again.
How do I start seeing this Event Log message that I chose to not see again?
You can re-enable notifications balloon popups and logs from the (obviously) Notifications settings window, which you can open in (at least) 2 ways:
1) From the Event log window click on the settings button
2) File -> Settings -> Appearance & behaviour -> Notifications
I just tried the specific notification that has been asked about (Unlinked Gradle Project?). The only way that I found to re-enable the notification was to delete the .idea folder inside the project and re-open the project in Intellij.
Other notifications, such as Maven: non-managed pom.xml work as expected so this bug is specific to the Unlinked Gradle Project? notification.
This appears to be a bug in Intellij Idea as of this build:
IntelliJ IDEA 2016.2.5
Build #IU-162.2228.15, built on October 14, 2016
JRE: 1.8.0_112-release-287-b2 x86_64
JVM: OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM by JetBrains s.r.o
I have raised an issue for this : https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-162936
Also, I found that these notification settings are not stored in a project specific file. This file, on OSX, is ~/Library/Preferences/IntelliJIdea2016.2/options/notifications.xml, on Windows it would reside in a folder according to this.
These were the contents of the file for me, when I was testing this notification:
<application>
<component name="NotificationConfiguration">
<notification groupId="Gradle Notification Group" shouldReadAloud="true" />
<notification groupId="Maven: non-managed pom.xml" displayType="STICKY_BALLOON" shouldLog="false" />
<notification groupId="Project Startup Tasks Messages" displayType="STICKY_BALLOON" />
</component>
</application>
I noticed that changing the Popup Type for 'Gradle Notification Group' correctly updates ~/Library/Preferences/IntelliJIdea2016.2/options/notifications.xml, however even when the Popup type is 'BALLOON' or 'STICKY_BALLOON', it does not result in Intellij re-notifying the user about the Unlinked gradle project.

eclipse.log.level in Eclipse RCP config.ini file not working?

I am using service Logger (workbench Logger) to log in Eclipse RCP.
I have used it many locations where it is used for logging INFO, WARNING and ERROR as well.
I had set eclipse.log.level = ERROR in the launch configuration (tab) of the product file. Now I expect it to log only ERROR logs in the log file.
But when I am launching from the product file it is logging all the INFO logs also. My understanding is wrong on eclipse.log.level? or anything else has to be done?
Since this is a system property you set it with
-Declipse.log.level=ERROR
in the 'VM arguments' section of the 'Arguments' tab on the launch configuration.
