AbstractMethodError can only occur at run time if the definition of some class has incompatibly changed since the currently executing method was last compiled.
Seems like the slf4j-api version you have is higher than the slf4j binding version (such as slf4j-jdk14.jar or slf4j-log4j12.jar used to bind slf4j to an underlying logging framework).
For example - slf4j-api 1.7.6 along with slf4j-log4j12-1.5.8 will throw the same error.
You would need to syn the version of both slf4j apis and its binding jar verson.
Mostly its a libraries confilict, what that means there is a library uses log4j with version 1.5.8, and you have imported log4j 1.6.
2 things to try:
1- remove the log4j 1.6 from your imported jars.
2- replace log4j 1.6 jar file with log4j 1.5.8 jar file.

This solution is quite a workaround that requires a bit of work.
Fixes Jackson 2.9.5 to work in gluon jfxmobile-plugin 1.3.10.
To fix jackson-databind to be able build immutable objects with a single constructor.
1.1 Drop the usage of the JDK8 module parameter-names since this requires a non implemented VM feature.
Use instead java.beans.ConstructorProperties.
1.2 Jackson uses for ConstructorProperties support some Interfaces from JDK8 that can be safety included as part of your project.

If you get the slf4j IllegalAccessError shown above, then you are using an older version of slf4j-api, e.g. 1.4.3, with a new version of a slf4j binding, e.g. 1.5.6. As mentioned in the slf4j faq on IllegalAccessError, this typically occurs when your Maven pom.ml file incorporates hibernate 3.3.0 which declares a dependency on slf4j-api version 1.4.2. If your pom.xml declares a dependency on an slf4j binding, say slf4j-log4j12 version 1.5.6, then you will get illegal access errors.

I am trying to redirect Java Util Logging logs to Log4j 2.1 using the birdge provided log4j-jul-2.1, but stuck with classpath problems. I have all the log4j jars in the domains lib directory and used the following JVM parameter as mentioned in log4j documentation:
-Djava.util.logging.manager=org.apache.logging.log4j.jul.LogManager
The problem is that the bridge LogManager provided by log4j is not available in Glassfish AppClassLoader during startup and it causes the exception below. I can fix that by modifying server main classpath (provided by -cp argument), but this is bad. Is there any other/better looking way to achieve that? Simply putting it into server main lib directory does not also work as its again not AppClassLoader.

I finally decided to use SLF4J and its SLF4JBridgeHandler for handling Java Util Logging calls. The main benefit of it is that it can be initialized at some later point when all the classes are loaded and after all required static initializations.

I also switched to Logback as a backend as with this solution Log4j encounters performance problems for disable JUL loggers.

If you are using Mule 3.2.1, you can not use the http:response-builder. The feature is just not there. That's why you can't use it.

Mule ESB does not work with cookie
In short, make sure you have provided group: 'org.apache.tomcat', name: 'coyote', version: '6.0.44' for mule 3.7.0.
In your case, you should have another library - tomcat-util 5.5.23 because you use different version of mule 3.2.1.
compile group: 'tomcat', name: 'tomcat-util', version: '5.5.23'
When you use SpringBoot, it ovverides a version of some library (depending on version of Spring and Mule), so you will get this error. You have class ServerCookie but the method appendCookieValue will disappear!
Solution - play with libraries. Or another bad workaround, write your own version of one of these classes that fail, and make sure classloader will use your version of the classes. (Again, creating a class with the same name and package to fix a bug - is a risky and bad thing...)

You have essentially compiled your code with JDK 1.6 but running it with Java 5 - Just ensure a Java 6 runtime.
Even I faced same problem. The problem is inappropriate class version, for ex. compiling with different jre.
Solution: IF you are using Eclipse or RAD, set change compiler setting as per your requirement and also change same setting to project configuration by clicking on "Configure Project specific setting". Windows->Preferences->Compiler-> click on link "Configure Project specific setting".
For me the fix was to set the JAVA_Home system variable to the correct path.
It is a compiler issue. Make sure all your modules are configured with java 1.5 as a compiler. Window-->preference--> Java --> Compiler. Make sure 1.5 is selected.
