Without creating a new project for each bug/ticket I have to work in within a project, is it possible to save the open files for each of the different bugs/ticket I am working on.
As a very simple example, I am working on Project Golf and have two bugs. #1 - Add CRUD functionality for Player. #2 - Add CRUD functionality for Course.
Within Bug #1 I am working on files views/players/index.php, views/players/add.php, views/players/edit.php and views/players/view.php
Within Bug #2 I am working on files views/courses/index.php, views/courses/add.php, views/courses/edit.php and views/courses/view.php
I would like to be able to easily switch between bug by opening project Golf > Bug #1 or Golf > bug #2 and open the required files that I am working on. The current functionality for me is that PhpStorm will open whatever files I was last working on within that project. If I switch to a completely new bug with completely different I then need to go and reopen them all again.
Although I could create a new project for each bug, this feels a bit cumbersome and the Project Manager screen would also become very cluttered.
If you are using integration with an Issue Tracking System in PhpStorm then IDE will load your tabs that you had open when last time worked on that particular ticket/task.
Regardless if you use such integration or not -- this functionality is called "Contexts" and you can switch between them using Tools | Tasks & Contexts | Load Context.

Recently, my company started to focus Extension_v2 development for Dynamics NAV BC. We store our code in an internal Git-Server. So far, so good.
But startig a new project is still a very fiddly task. You have to create a repository, clone it, execute the AL Code-Task, move the files to the fitting location push the repository to the correct upstream etc. And all this does not include the first initial Steps (README, CHANGELOG and all other fundamental files...).
So I wanted to write a small PowerShell-Script, to do all these initial steps before being able to start working on the Project.
The Problem: I could not find a way to execute the "AL-GO!" task via script.
I have already searched the Internet and some forums for an answer... but it seems like microsoft did not consider the possibility to execute tasks from the AL-Language-Extension via script.
I also played around with the New-NAVAppManifest and the New-NAVAppManifestFile command for the old Extension_V1 development, but that did not do the trick.
I am looking for a fair and easy way to combine the creation of the app.json file and the launch.json file with other commands to easily initialize a new Project without haveing to write all commands manually. Maybe I did not recognize the easy solution. Or maybe this is just the way we have to do it in Extension_v2.

Stay away from Ext V1. It's highly deprecated at this point.
First of all, why do you need to execute the "AL-Go!" via script? The "AL-Go!" command should already include all necessary steps to create an empty project including the launch.json and app.json. (minimal adjuments required dependent on your BC environment)
There is an extension/plugin for Git in Visual Studio Code which will handle all the repository stuff for you. You don't need to change file locations if everything is set up for Git. I rarely use it yet, but saw a demo for it on the Directions EMEA last year and I'm pretty sure it works at its current state (someone correct me if I'm wrong)
A way to implement the "AL-GO!" command for a script or for setting up additional steps in your project setup might be to write your own visual studio code extension/plugin which requires some additional know-how for that.

You just change the settings/files of the default project, I bet there is at least a file for creating the initial AL project. Just change that to your requirements
Just wondering if there is a way to integrate TFS with TestRail to replace(get rid of entirely) the Test Hub within TFS to use TestRail to record Test Plans?
My concern with removing the Test Hub, would be if Test Rail can still reference IDs in Bug and Stories within TFS and vice versa?
You currently cannot remove the standard Hubs in Visual Studio Team Services / TFS or replace them with something else. You can enable an extension that either adds its own functionality under said hub as a separate tab or adds another Test Rail hub to the top level (if there is any) or write your own. Extensions currently cannot leave their sandbox to overwrite standard functionality.
There is nothing preventing anything from keeping track of work item numbers anywhere, so the second part of your question, whether it would have broken any form of integrations, that's unlikely.
If you are on TFS, you could try creating a custom process template that doesn't have the Test Case, Shared Step, Test Suite and Test Plan work item types, this will likely at least completely cripple the existing functionality. In the on-prem version you can also customize the files on disk, I've never tried, but it's likely that you could probably hack the test hub away. That would be a totally unsupported scenario through.
My small collection of document-specific macros and quickpart building blocks is growing! I'm starting to share these with employees, and am looking to be able to set up each remote computer once only. From there on, update collections on a network path. And because each computer looks to the shared location, everyone should always be working with up to date macros and quickparts etc.
So. What I already know:
- Required macros are saved in a separate module, ready to be shared/exported.
- Macros themselves occasionally reference local paths on my computer.
- I will need to reference paths with generic code or use Environ variables.
- Building blocks and quickparts are saved in a separate template file (currently located in Appdata, along with default building block file).
What I dont know:
a) How to point Word to a network path to retrieve macros from custom macro files. (Would I just have to import a fresh macro file at every important update, on each PC?)
b) What's the best way to load a building block item from a CUSTOM path?
My custom BuildingBlock template file is not loaded properly on occasion:

I know this because the code spits out a 'CollectionDoesntExist' error unless I click the Quickparts gallery prior to running the code for the first time. So it's like Word cant be bothered to open the template file and look inside unless I do it from the UI first.
Of course, if I first open the Quickparts gallery from the UI, prior to running my code, Word seems to figure it out, and inserts the correct Building Block entry without any issue.
In the past I've worked on a product that allows building blocks for Word too. Some sites have hundreds of templates and maybe 1.000 elements (see Composition). The approach we've taken was successful and was different.
You are trying to deploy software elements (macros) across a large number of workstations. You can try to get it working using the possibilities of Microsoft Word and Windows, but it will be sensitive to problems when things change. For instance, switching to Office 2013, splitting a domain into two, work at home without VPN, etc.
Option 1 - DIY deployment: Better put the macros and other stuff behind a webpage, webservice or alike. Deploy on each workstation a generic program that pulls in everything and deploys it locally. You might want to hand over some parameters to the webpage being called to restrict the amount of data. You might want to cache things locally.
Option 2 - Use ClickOnce: write a clickonce deployment script, include the necessary references and put it on a shared network drive or http address. ClickOnce automagically upgrades your software when it finds a new version. It even works across the internet. And it does nothing when there is no new version.
Option 3 - Database: put the elements centrally in a database, allowing end users to change building blocks through forms. Have Microsoft Word in combination with a ClickOnce program pull them in.
For Composition we've used option 2 and 3.
I have two different version of a website, an older version, and a newer version that is supposed to have some sort of virus on it (or malicious code of some kind). I need to perform a diff between the two sites and try to eliminate the virus in the newer one.
After some searching I found netbeans 7.1 is able to do this using it's Git Repository. I was following this tutorial http://netbeans.org/kb/docs/ide/git.html but I am not getting the same options on my screen as in the tutorial. I am using netbeans 7.1 RC1 and downloaded the jdk from the link on that same page. The jdk download itself says jdk7 but the folder it creates on my computer is named jdk1.7.0_01 . I'm assuming jdk7 is short for jdk1.7 .
I get as far as the very end of the "Initializing a Git Repository" step. The end when it says "All the project files are marked Added in your Working Tree. To view a file status, place the cursor over the file name in the Projects window. The status of the file in the Working Tree displays in green to the right of the slash like shown in the following picture." does not happen.
I tried going further anyway, but there is just more and more options that do not show up for me.
I am also open to another way to perform a diff operation between the sites, it doesn't have to be with using netbeans. I should note however I do not have access to a unix box. So the solution has to work for windows, or I guess I can go on a coworkers mac if I need to.

From your question, it sounds like you did not already have your web site code under version control. If that's the case then I'd suggest doing so, and git is a very good choice. It is what I use.
Your goal, however, is to diff the older version of your site with the "newer" (possibly infected) version, and that can be done without having to deal with a version control system. There are several good diff tools for Windows. I mainly use WinMerge, as I like its user interface and simplicity. KDiff3 is another good one, and I use that one in conjunction with git merge operations, because it supports a three-way-merge comparison (which WinMerge does not).
If you were to use WinMerge for your diff, and you had the code from the old version in Q:\example.com\old-version and the "new" version in Q:\example.com\current-version, then you would start WinMerge, and either choose File|Open... from the menu, or click on the open icon in the toolbar. You would get a dialog like the following, and would fill it in as shown:
If you filled everything in correctly, then you would be able to click on the OK button, and would get a list of file differences. Depending on the default settings, you might also see files that have not changed at all in that list. You can hide those using the View menu. Double-clicking on a file with differences will open the two versions and show you the differences.
Explore the WinMerge options. I have mine set, for example, to compare white-space differences, but to ignore different line endings (Unix's LF versus Windows' CR/LF).
I am writing a custom xulrunner-based app and I wish to have some files deployed in the user profile the first time the application is run.
I placed the files in my application's defaults/profile directory but they did not get copied to user's profile during the first run of the application.
Should I write some additional code or this should happen automatically?
The thing that gets copied for sure is the application default preferences.
Is there a "standard" way offered by Firefox or some of the many mozilla applications?
Any link to some reading will be helpful.

Unfortunately the standard way of doing first run code is to use the pref system to determine if you have or haven't done something yet. There are a few gotchas though:
Make sure this code only runs once. If your firstrun code is in an overlay or main browser window, it can be run multiple times (once per window)
after you run the code and set the pref, make sure you flush the prefs, since prefs are written on close and will only be saved when you close.

You could also use the preferences system in concert with querying for an extensions version number. When the version changes, call your function. That would allow you the flexibility to call the function again later if you want - but only at a version change.
