I am building a website with Apache and PHP. I was able to run it on my computer till yesterday. Now, I cannot access it on my own computer with localhost,127.0.0.1 but other computers on my network can access it using my ip. I was trying to install some software yesterday which made Chrome totally dysfunctional and I had to reinstall it. Chrome/IE can access other websites but not my own.
Anybody has any idea about this?

I want to test building Progressive Web Apps and know this requires SSL. I am able to test onlocalhost (using npm http_server) but would like to test from other machines on the same local network and some mobile devices, so I need https and an SSL certificate.
I have tried using XAMPP on a windows machine, and made a certificate using makecert, but even though I installed it on Chrome on another machine, it didn't work.
Any ideas how I can achieve this ie run web server of some kind on one Windows 10 machine, host the pages using SSL and browse from another and mobile devices?
Do I have to use 3rd party certs, and would these work on a local machine (eg by local IP) rather than a domain name?
Bit confused!
I've recently set up a personal website for prorgams I make and set it up over at www.ioi-xd.xyz. The website looks fine when connecting on my computer or when accessing it over wi-fi. However, I've seen friends who aren't on my wi-fi having trouble with the site, and after attempting to access the site on a phone that isn't connected, I can confirm that the site only works when connected to my wifi.
I am running XAMPP v 3.2.2, with Apache 2.4. My port is :80 and my SSL is :4433. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling XAMPP, to no avail. I've also disabled my firewall completely, including my domain network. Nothing I do seems to work though.
Found the answer myself. Wasn't aware of this so I might as well post this for those scratching their heads like I just was an hour ago.
Most ISPs block the ability to host sites on wi-fi. This isn't something (at least that I'm aware of) that you can change. You will have to use a website host such as Hostinger.
I have installed odoo 9 on a windows 7 machine..
All working well when i try to access like localhost:8069 or 192.168.1.11:8069
But the same dosnt work when i try to access from locally connected computers.. I am trying to access odoo from computers connected through lan..
trying to access 192.168.1.11:8069
However If I try to access Xampp Server using the ip it works well..
when I ping 192.168.1.11:8069 from any network computers it shows 'unknown host'
I am relatively new to this kind of network config thing.. Hope if anyone had similar issue and have sorted it out??
PS. Same thing happens when I install odoo on an Ubuntu 14.04 based computer..
Looking Forward to a solution.
Thanks in Advance.

There is a number of reasons that can cause this. What you are describing is a network issue and not a odoo issue. You cannot ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:port number. I would start with some of the obvious tests:
Disable the firewall and anti-virus
If it is the firewall, set it up to open port 8069 and make sure that the firewall allows connections from other computers.
I have been trying to download the MS Edge on Win 10 virtual machine from the dev.modern.ie website and I'm getting the same message in all the browsers:
ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED
My windows firewall is deactivated and I'm not using a proxy for my LAN, I have also tried cleaning all my browsing data but still getting the same error.
I really need to test a website i'm working with in Edge, is there a mirror or another link to download the virtual machines?
I was unable to reproduce the issue you're reporting when I initiated Microsoft Edge downloads for HyperV 2012, VirtualBox, and VMWare. This may have been a temporary issue that has since been resolved — please try again and let us know if the problem persists.
You can also test EdgeHTML (the rendering engine behind Microsoft Edge) by streaming RemoteIE to your Mac, PC, or Android/iOS device. While the shell of the browser will be Internet Explorer, the actual internals will be EdgeHTML: https://remote.modern.ie.
If you encounter further issues, please do not hesitate to remote them directly to me either here on Stack Overflow, or via Twitter.
I am currently on a mac using the pre-installed Apache server.
Now I need to cross-browser test some websites, and therefore I need to access my pages on some other computers. How can I make my localhost-sites accessible for other computers on my WiFi (without uploading to another server)?
Thanks in advance.
Apache server's default configuration should allow other computers (even ones not on your local network) to access whatever it's serving up.
You can access your server from another machine by using the IP address of your server. You can find the IP address of your server by finding a console (this works in Windows and Mac machines) and typing in "ipconfig". (For linux machines, it's "ifconfig".)
