I need to create a visual basic application connecting to AS/400.
I've read that odbc driver are needed but i don't know how to find/download/install them.
It is necessary to install iSeries access or is ok only download Fix Packs, register ibm odbc driver?
You need the install package for either IBM iAccess for Windows (iAW) or the newer IBM iAccess Client Solutions (ACS) with the Windows Application Package
You might be able to just install the Windows Application Package portition of ACS. But I've never tried it.

I've installed SQL Server 2016 (Standard Edition) on a Windows Server 2016, selecting Integration Services to be installed too. I've also installed SSMS and SSDT from the same installation media.
I am running SSMS as administrator and can connect to the local Database engine.
My user is a Windows and SQL Server admin.
However I cannot connect (explicitly using the server name) or even browse to the local Integration Services?
Receiving the following error.
SSIS not browsable and can't connect
Having already searched for an answer to this problem, many suggest checking that the service is running etc. which can be seen in the Services and SQL Configuration Manager.
Services shown as running
I've also tried turning off the Windows Firewall to establish if that is the cause of the problem but it had no effect.
Anyone got any ideas what might be preventing it from being accessible?
I've had this problem last month. In my case I had to install the 32-bit version of access database engine (on my 64 bit windows).
Sql data tools works with 32-bit

The later SSMS versions (16.x and 17.x) will only connect to their respective versions SQL 2016 and SQL 2017. Microsoft is planning to retire the older method in favor of the SSISDB, which is more secure.
Link to the official statement from Microsoft (in the note box).
I have had the same problem and the solution was to install the old interface on top of the existing one (SQL Server Management Studio 2016). Here's link to the installation file. After having installed this, I can now connect to the integration services. You will have to set it up of course and give yourself Rights
Installing IBM MobileFirst Studio 7.0 using MFPF_7.0_ELP_UPD_IBM_MF_STUDIO.zip but due to local LAN security we are not able to get dependency from eclipse market place which are required and downloaded directly from download.eclipse.org org. Where can we download necessary requirements and use this as local repository?
You can try this .zip file, but I'm pretty sure it is the same: http://public.dhe.ibm.com/ibmdl/export/pub/software/products/en/MobileFirstPlatform/mobilefirst_studio_plugin_7.0.0.zip
When using the .zip file, you can also attempt the installation with the "Contact all update sites..." checkbox un-checked, before proceeding with the installation in Eclipse.
In general, the MFP Studio installation requires an outside Internet connection.
Find a location with a working connection, install. Make a copy of your Eclipse for future use.
Standard scenario for this setup is to have a central installation (with Internet connection). Then archive that specific installation, and then sneakernet it each of the disconnected workstations. You must do this for each type of workstation (Win/OSX/Linux) to be supported. No its not optimal, but does resolve the problem. Hope this helps.
You can check with your network administrator if they can allow your machine to access to the internet via a proxy server. If this is possible all you need is to configure the network connection in Eclipse to include your proxy server setting. You can see the detail here:

I'm trying to install IBM Mobilefirst 7.0 server on production Ubuntu server in Amazon. The server has no GUI. I installed Websphere Application Server and IBM Mobilefirst server using silent installation of IBM Installation Manager and response file created on server with GUI. But now I'm stuck at a point where I have to configure MobileFirst server using server configuration tool. But I'm not able to find out how to do this without GUI since server configuration tool is GUI based. Any pointers or help would be highly appreciated!
You can use ant tasks to proceed with the configuration without the GUI.
Detailed steps for this can be found in the link below.
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSHS8R_7.0.0/com.ibm.worklight.deploy.doc/devref/t_transporting_apps_and_adapters.html
What I was asking for is way to implement MobileFirst Server administration without using GUI as given in step number 6 in this link: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/#!/SSHSCD_6.3.0/com.ibm.worklight.installconfig.doc/install_config/t_ov_server_install.html. Since the server I was working on does not have a GUI, I was stuck at step 6. But I found the way out now and for someone who is looking for this, the way to do is using ant scripts. Steps are listed at this link : http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/#!/SSHS8R_7.0.0/com.ibm.worklight.installconfig.doc/devref/t_ant_tasks_configure_dbs_wlconsole.html
I am trying to search file system using Search.CollatorDSO:
Provider=Search.CollatorDSO;Extended Properties="Application=Windows"
On what Windows OS is this provider available by default? According to this question it is not installed on Web editions of Windows Server.
If it is not installed can it be installed manually?
After much digging, it appears the only way to get the ole db provider: Search.CollatorDSO is to enable the Search service in windows OS itself. Installing Search Server from the download does not install it. (Confusing!)
Note that Windows Search Service, what this thrad is about, is completely distinct from "Search Server."
Does anybody know, if it is possible to use the "old" SAP DCOM Connector on a Windows Server 2008 ?
I want to migrate a old ASP Web Solution with DCOM Connection to SAP from Windows 2000 Server to Windows 2008 Server.
When I try to install the DCOM Connector I get the Error Message:
"Setup could not find ActivX(R) Data Objects verion 2.5 or higher on your computer...."
That is strange, because ado is there under C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\ado !
Thanks in advance for your help !
I wasn't able to make it work even on windows 2003 server. I don't remember how hard I tried. But its certainly not supported event for windows 2003. And actually this component is out of support since 2005 or something like this.
