I am wondering if it is possible to determine if the current logged in user has responded to a direct message from another user with the Twitter API.
I have been looking over the Twitter API documentation and I can't seem to find a way to do this.
There's no specific API call for this, and DMs don't have an "in reply to" field.
The best you can do is look at https://dev.twitter.com/rest/reference/get/direct_messages/sent and check what time a message was sent. That will tell you if a DM was sent after receiving one - but not if it's a reply.

Is there any way to configure Google Chat so It will automatically reply when another user sends me a message? Similar to the way vacation reply works for GMAIL.
The trigger will be the message coming from a user. not calling any bot.

The API is designed for bots so there is no way via API either.
You can always make a feature request, if you like.
Reading almost the whole API reference of paypal, i am almost sure that they do not provide any kind of API method regarding donations. However i would like to check whether someone donates something to my paypal account and get some details of this transaction.
I thought of using the Activities Search REST API, however it was responding with -> "No permission for the requested operation" while i was testing it with my sandbox business account.
Anyone got any idea of how to claim this details? Do i missing something?
My last thought, was to use gmail API's to read the incoming emails that i am receiving (from paypal) when i got a donation, however i believe it's not a good solution, so its my last choice.

Let your robot send message from this channel to users, you can use forward method.
Now you can see how many users have seen your message
Telegram Bot API has limit functionality. There is absolutely no way to get message view count at the time of this comment.
Usually TDLib can be used instead of Telegram Bot. It is Telegram client library. You can use it directly or make it as services for BOT to call.
For example. use TdApi.GetMessage to get the message, and the returned message has field of interactionInfo which contains forwardCount or viewCount.

I am creating an API endpoint which takes a customer order, create the order and send email notification. At our current design once we successfully create the order, we send a success notification 201 to client and then make a call for our internal email api. Upon getting success notification from us the client app shows users a message to check his/her email.
I don't feel comfortable with this design because if for some reason the email sending method failed there are no way for client to understand this. On the other hand if we wait for to successfully the send the email and then send client app success notification it takes longer times.
So what is the right approach for overcoming this problem?
I think your design works. Why would the client care if the mail service is not working? If the order passes all validations on the server and is persisted I would treat that as a successful state and return 201 Created.
When the client gets 201 Created, then do what you say; give the user a message about checking their mail, but tell them that they should have some patience. Something like:
Your order was submitted. Please check your mail. If you haven't got a mail in 24 hours please contact us, "or whatever other solution here".
You have no control on what time the mail will arrive at the users mail box anyway since mail sending is not a synchronous process.
Remember: Seperate your conserns.
202 Accepted would usually be the most appropriate response for a request which requires further processing. In your case, however, this might not be right because the email is not fundamental to the resource creation.
201 Created is perfectly acceptable for you because the order has actually been created. However, as the spec says, you should return a Location header with the URI of the created resource and an entity describing how to access the resource. That should get around your issue with a mail service failure - the client can still access their order and, to be honest, e-mail is not guaranteed delivery so I'm hoping that the email isn't an absolutely required part of your business process.
I'm not sure where to begin, but got a case I need help from others where and if possible to solve.
Thing is, got a new alarm system at home, this system uses sms function so I can send a short code to my alarm asking for status if it`s ON or OFF, or i can turn it on/off from an sms.
Since both the sms number and code is strictly personal, I would not like to tell my carpenter the codes, but in the mean while he is working at my home, I can give him a login to my site, where he can see if the alarm is turned on or even turn it on/off by him self.
I would like to build me a website, that does the same.
Got a login to my site, when logged in, i would like the website to send an sms automatically, then retrieve the answer and display it on the website.
Is this even possible ? If so, anyone can past me in the right direction here ?

You can send an SMS from a website. Most mobile operators will gladly offer you an apropriate API.
For instance Deutsche Telekom has an API called "Developer Garden" that allows you to send SMS via a WebService and much more.

you need an sms gateway ( we use these guys : http://inteltech.com.au/, but nearly any will do )
Your easiest option is to find one where you can insert SMS'es for sending via a URL, eg in our case the URL looks like this:
http://inteltech.com.au/secure-api/send.single.php?username=[user]&key=[longcode]&method=http&senderid=[id]&sms=[phonenumber]&message=[here's the message]
it's extremely simple to use. If your site handles the login otherwise, then you can use this for the rest.
Now, how to receive SMS'es is a bit tricker :)
But this provider, for example, offers you options to;
Send the reply as an email to a nominated email address.
Send the reply as an email to the original user who sent the message.
Send the reply as an SMS to a nominated mobile number.
POST the reply to your website or application . e.g. We can call a http/https request to your script
as you can see, both the email and the POST options are providing great ways to integrate.
I'd say if you don't handle incoming email already, then stick to the POST method.
