Altering the check-in dialogue in ICN (IBM Content Navigator) - dojo

In IBM Content Navigator, The "Check In" dialogue contains a Properties Pane, that in turn contains a Class Selector drop down box.
ClassSelector image
I want to keep the check-in functionality, but would like to have that Class Selector box not appear (There is no use case where a user would need to change the document class).
What would be the proper way to achieve this?
Is there a way to extend the ecm/widget/CheckInDialogue.js file AND make the default checkIn action use my new js?
Do I need to create a brand new checkIn action that references a new js?
Do I just change the ICN shipped js/html?
Just to clarify, I do know how to create a plugin, and how to create a js extension to the checkinDialogue.js, and how to remove the classSelector; however I don't know how to make the checkin action use my new script, or the best way to accomplish this.
Thanks!

Before answering your question, I would like to say that I think there is other options to do this without customizing ICN. The two easiest I can see would be:
Use entry templates, that way class selector will be disable on check in by default
Remove the privChangeClass privilege, that should hide the Class Selector (might be difficult if you want to leave full priv.)
Now if you want to hide it without using entry templates or privileges.
Yes, extend the ecm.widget.layout.CommonActionHandler and overwrite the actionCheckIn function and use your CheckInDialog instead of the default one. Then use your CommonActionHandler instead of the default one in your desktop. I don't think there is a way to change the ActionHandler from the admin desktop UI yet (if I missed it please let me know), although it's loaded by the client on the _loadDesktop function and set by the appearance tab but the value is hard-coded, so you might have to inject it after the load of better, call ecm.model.desktop.setActionHander(actionhandler) where actionhandler is the instance, not the class name (string) in a plugin.
You can, this will make things easier to manage if you have several desktops and you want some to use your new Check In dialog and some not.
No, that's a terrible idea :) Future upgrade of ICN and your code will be a nightmare and the delivery process a lot more complex than a simple configuration trick or ICN plug-in, that's what plug-ins are for.
Also a not so clean but really simple solution would be to aspect after the CheckInDialog.prototype on the postCreate function and do a domStyle.set(this.addContentItemPropertiesPane._contentClassSelectorDiv, "display", "none"); to just hide it on all CheckInDialogs.

Easy digital downloads - Form custom (add / remove / hide fields)

I want to create an e-commerce shop with : WP, Easy digital downloads and Frontend submissions.
To do so, I need to customize forms. As an example: I need to add & remove (or hide) fields on the fes_registration_form without breaking functions behind it.
I don't have a good vision of how the easy digital downloads plugin works so I don't know where to do my updates (don't want to break everything).
Could you please tell me how to proceed to add and remove fields on the fes_registration_form ?
I need to do the same job on the profile form and on the new product ones.
thank you
You can easily add and remove form fields for the profile and product submission via the built in form builder. There is a simple drag and drop system.
https://docs.easydigitaldownloads.com/article/962-frontend-submissions-form-builder
For further custom work you would need to get your hands dirty. I have just completed a major project in totally changing some functions within the forms. This involves a combination of hooks, filters and extending some of the classes provided by the FES extension.

Create and use global view in C# WP8 XAML

I was trying to digg something on this topic before, but have no luck. What I'm trying to achieve is pretty simple, but seems to be hard to achieve :-)
I have a WP8 app (C# XAML) and I need to implement global messages (something like toasts) which could be displayed across whole application no matter of current navigation processes. Such toast message(s) should be displayed even while user is navigating between pages. To use the built in toasts is not a way (in case some other solution exists) since I'm possibly in need to have more than one message displayed at the same time (each one is independent of another) and should disappear after specified period of time.
So, my question is. Is there any way how to implement and use some kind of global view instance which sits above all pages and can be called from any page?
All I found until now is the possible ability to use PhoneApplicationFrame, but I would like rather avoid that if possible. I'm still unsure if this is even the way it can be done, but I suppose so. Do you have any alternatives or assurance this is possible and only way to achieve this goal?
Thank you all for your time and answers.
You can have UerControl for the Functionality you are looking for. It is Control that has its own Seprate Xaml and cs file. You can call it from any page into your Project. UserControl provides the base class for defining a new control that encapsulates related existing controls and provides its own logic. You have a XAML file and C# class file for a user control. The class file extends the UserControl class and adds additional behaviours and properties. The XAML file encapsulates the composing controls, the styles, the templates, animations and whatever necessary to form the UI. Since it is a just composition, it is really easy to create. for more Reference you can go here Why and how to create a User Control in Windows Phone
I have ended up rolling my own custom navigation using a single master page. As such any global controls are instantiated once at startup. Navigations are called from my viewmodels and result in usercontrols being removed and added to the visual tree as necessary (using transition animations to give the impression of page navigation) This works but im not sure whether it is best practice and would appreciate some opinions and comments on this. Certainly it solves the problem of global views described.

Flag module - link's position change (Drupal)

I've just installed Flags module and it looks awful when on the bottom I see "Flag this item" link. The only thing I've found in configuration is enabling it to show as normal link. Still I haven't found how to change position of this link. Is it even possible to change link's place? I have installed CCK Blocks but it doesn't give me any option to get rid of it. If someone know or suspect what's possible - please help me.
Try the Display Suite module, this module is integrated with many modules like flag, title etc...
Display Suite allows you to take full control over how your content is displayed using a drag and drop interface. Arrange your
nodes, views, comments, user data etc. the way you want without having
to work your way through dozens of template files. A predefined list
of layouts (D7 only) is available for even more drag and drop fun!

You can move and generate custom layouts for the fields/properties on the entity display formatter: teaser, full...

How to change dojo locale after dojo loaded?

We need set locale in data-dojo-config before dojo loaded so that dojo.i18n will work with this locale. Is there any workaround that we can change this locale in dojo/_base/config after dojo loaded so that any further dojo.i18n call will work with this new locale?
I have a single page application, by carefully design, I already be able to recreate all my UI widgets dynamically anytime. I want to add a Select somewhere so that user can change languages on the fly. Currently the only solution I have is put a queryString locale='newLocale' at Url and force browser refresh. That works but everything User have done lost and with a fresh start. That's not what I want.
Any idea? I don't afraid some changes of dojo to make this happen since my application will be built as a single layer and deploy to customers.
According to dojo's documentation, you cannot change the locale once it's loaded. See this page from their documentation, the relevant line is:
Once Dojo is loaded, it is not possible to change the locale for the
page.
Your description of adding a new parameter is what I've done in this situation, you can specify the locale property on the dojoConfig object to override the default locale.
EDIT: There is an open bug for this use case, see https://bugs.dojotoolkit.org/ticket/17196. In that ticket there also appears to be a workaround that basically involves manually loading the resource file of the language you want to use and updating any text.
So, adapting their example (http://jsbin.com/aquviq/1/edit), this would run after you initiate a change locale action:
require(['dojo/i18n!dojo/nls/' + resourceModuleWithLocale], function (resource) {
/* in here, you must set all of the text manually to the values in the resource object */
});
It still seems like a lot of work, but I suppose that's one possible way to accomplish this.

yii-user extension - how to add a checkbox profile field?

Yii framework, yii-user extension (using latest version of both, to date): how do I add a simple "checkbox" field for the profile of all users?
I am logged in as admin, and went to user/profileField/admin. I can add new field but the closest I get to is adding a "BOOL" field which is rendered as a dropdown, while I need a checkbox... . When "BOOL" is used I cannot specify the widget and even if I could, there's no documentation on those yii-user widgets.
Any help is welcome!
Open up modules/yii-user/views/user/registration.php. Around line 40, add something like this:
else if ($field->field_type=='BINARY') echo $form->checkBox($profile,$field->varname,array());
Now when you want to create a checkbox field, choose the BINARY field type. If you want to require that it's checked, add this to the 'Other Validator' field: {"compare":{"compareValue":"1"}}
I've had a look around the docs for that extension and I don't actually see a single checkbox anywhere in the screen shots or mentioned anywhere in the wiki either.
You might be able to dive in and add support for one in the places you need it, Yii nicely handles all the HTML elements so it shouldn't be too hard to add the feature in a primitive form. CHtml::checkBox() or CHtml::checkBoxList().
Then again if your already running into problems with it, it's probably going to be easier in the long run for you to write what you need yourself.
