How to access nsIHTMLEditor interface in GeckoFX? - vb.net

I am trying to make a WYSIWYG HTML-editor by embedding GeckoFX in a Windows Forms application in VB.NET.
The code goes like this:
Dim Gbrowser As New GeckoWebBrowser
Gbrowser.Navigate("about:blank")
...
Gbrowser.Navigate("javascript:void(document.body.contentEditable='true')")
How can I activate and access the nsIHTMLEditor interface from within my application?
Thank you.
UPDATE
This code does not work:
Dim hEditor As nsIHTMLEditor
hEditor = Xpcom.GetService(Of nsIHTMLEditor)("#mozilla.org/editor/htmleditor;1")
hEditor = Xpcom.QueryInterface(Of nsIHTMLEditor)(hEditor)
hEditor.DecreaseFontSize()
Error in the last line: HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component.

nsIHTMLEditor is likely a per browser instance rather than a global instance (like things returned by Xpcom.GetService)
One can get a nsIEditor like this by (by supplying a Window instance)
var editingSession = Xpcom.CreateInstance<nsIEditingSession>("#mozilla.org/editor/editingsession;1");
nsIEditor editor = editingSession.GetEditorForWindow((nsIDOMWindow)Window.DomWindow);
Marshal.ReleaseComObject(editingSession);
(or you can just call the nsIEditor GeckoWebBrowser.Editor property.)
You may be able to cast this nsIEditor to a nsIHtmlEditor (although I have yet to try it)
GeckoWebBrowser browser = .....;
// Untested code
nsIHTMLEditor htmlEditor = (nsIHTMLEditor)browser.Editor;
Update:
The VB code from #GreenBear
Dim gEditor As nsIHTMLEditor:
gEditor = Gbrowser.Editor:
gEditor.DecreaseFontSize()

What are DShellFolderViewEvents and DShellFolderViewEvents_Event?

The names make it sound like some sort of event handler.
Both were identified as an interface from Shell32 using the code below:
I can't find either of these in the MSDN libraries. Google returned some pages with code where they appeared, but I didn't see anything that really described the interface.
Public Sub ListTypes()
Dim NS As String = "Shell32"
For Each t As Type In Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly().GetTypes()
If (t.IsClass Or t.IsInterface) And t.Namespace = NS Then
Debug.Print(t.Name)
End If
Next
End Sub
Based on the definition in ShlDisp.h it appears to simply be a thin wrapper around IDispatch with a different GUID.
MIDL_INTERFACE("62112AA2-EBE4-11cf-A5FB-0020AFE7292D")
DShellFolderViewEvents : public IDispatch
{
};
It seems to be used in obtaining event notification from the shell - Raymond Chen's blog has some example code.

MonoGame/XNA Mouse.GetState() always returns 0,0 position

I'm trying to get the position of the cursor by calling the mouse class and using the GetState method but the return value is always 0,0. I've searched everywhere and all the code looks the same on other examples. I've tried alternative ways of declare the class but I get the same results.
public void Update() {
var ms = Mouse.GetState();
cursorPos = new Vector2(ms.X, ms.y);
}
If you are using Mono, it's possible that Mouse.GetState method is extended. On some past versions there was problems Mouse.SetState method, could be that also problem was also in Mouse.GetState... so I suggest you take latest Mono framework.
Or you can try to access directly to that method.
var ms = Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Input.Mouse.GetState();
var mp = new Point(ms.X, ms.Y);

Invoking Method of Presenter on Activation

I'm using Smart Client Software Factory 2008. In the module controller, I have code that creates a new child controller only if it hasn't been created, by doing something like the following:
Dim key = "Item-" + item.ID.ToString()
Dim childWorkItem = Me.WorkItem.WorkItems.Get(Of ControlledWorkItem(Of ItemWorkItemController))(key)
If childWorkItem Is Nothing Then
childWorkItem = Me.WorkItem.WorkItems.AddNew(Of ControlledWorkItem(Of ItemWorkItemController))(key)
Else
childWorkItem.Activate()
End If
Multiple items reuse the same key, so when that action is triggered, it shows the tab instead of creating a new instance of it. This works great.
However, there is one drawback. Once activated, I need to run a check within that item's presenter. So I need to call a method on the presenter. Is there a way to invoka a method on the presenter, or is there an event that runs on the view when the work item is activated? I'm not sure how to make that happen?
Thanks.
If you are using a Smart Part as your View you should be able to accomplish this using the IWorkspace.SmartPartActivated event.
This is how I have it setup in my project. I apologize, my code is all in C# but you should be able to apply it in VB relatively easily.
The WorkItemController class has the Activate method setup like this
ISmartPartView _smartPartView
public void Activate()
{
IWorkspace contentWorkspace = this.WorkItem.Workspaces[WorkspaceNames.ShellContentWorkspace];
contentWorkspace.Activate(_smartPartView);
WorkItem.Activate();
}
In the ISmartPartView Presenter class you should be able to create a handler for the SmartPartActivated event like this:
IWorkspace contentWorkspace = this.WorkItem.Workspaces[WorkspaceNames.ShellContentWorkspace];
contentWorkspace.SmartPartActivated += workSpaceSmartPart_ActivatedHandler;
In the workSpaceSmartPart_ActivatedHandler event handler, you can check the SmartPart being activated and if its your ISmartPartView class you can run the desired code.

VB.NET Deserialize JSON to anonymous object using newtonsoft returned error

I would like to deserialize the returned JSON from a service call in VB.NET to an anonymous type but I was having error. It works in C# using dynamic type but i dont know how to do it in VB.
Here is my JSON returned from a web service call:
{"format":"png","height":564,"width":864}
Here is my VB code json above assigned to param text:
Dim testObj = Newtonsoft.Json.JsonConvert.DeserializeObject(text)
But when i tried to access testObj.format, an exception was thrown with message
{"Public member 'format' on type 'JObject' not found."}
I already have added Option Strict Off. I dont want to use an Object/Class to deserialize the JSON. If its in C# assigning this to dynamic type will be working fine.
Can anyone please help? I am not expert in VB but I need to have this running on VB. TIA
Dim js As New System.Web.Script.Serialization.JavaScriptSerializer
Dim testObj = js.Deserialize(source, New Object().GetType())
Then you can access the key(attribute name)/values via:
value=testobj(key)
One more thing, you can access your Newtonsoft key(attribute name)/values through:
value=testObj.item(key)
Dim js As New System.Web.Script.Serialization.JavaScriptSerializer
Dim DeSerialObjEventData = New With {.Prop1 = String.Empty, .Prop2 = String.Empty, .Prop3 = String.Empty}...
Dim testObj = js.DeserializeAnnonomusType(source, DeSerialObjEventData)

How can I set up expectations for event registration on a multimock

I am using RhinoMocks 3.6 and would like to use the multimock feature to implement both a class and a interface.
var mocks = new MockRepository();
var project = mocks.StrictMultiMock(
typeof(Project),
typeof(INotifyCollectionChanged));
using (mocks.Record())
{
((INotifyCollectionChanged)project).CollectionChanged += null;
LastCall.Constraints(Is.NotNull()).Repeat.Any();
}
The LastCall is working though. I get this message :
System.InvalidOperationException : Invalid call, the last call has been used or no call has been made (make sure that you are calling a virtual (C#) / Overridable (VB) method).
What am I doing wrong here??
Have you actually checked that the Project class has methods you can override as the error message indicates? I'll assume you have. :-)
I'd suggest you switch to using the AAA syntax instead of record/replay as shown here:
I assume you're wanting to know if the class under test reacts the right way when the CollectionChanged event is fired? If that's the case, you can do it something like this:
var project = MockRepository.GenerateMock<Project, INotifyPropertyChanged>();
project.Expect(p => p.SomeMethod())
.Repeat.Any()
.Raise(p => ((INotifyCollectionChanged)p).CollectionChanged += null,p,new NotifyCollectionChangedEventArgs());
