I created this request but does not show the results that can concater with the given name familyName it just displays the givenName and then another line, attorneys in the familyName.

This query will bring me a list of all books. What i really need is the ability to add some filters to this code. There are 3 things i want to filter by:
specific title name (e.g., search for title with "harry potter")
specific author name (e.g., search for author with "J. K. Rowling")
specific genre (e.g., search for genre with "adventure")

I am writing a federated query to get the books based on films in dbpedia and in turn using the film name from dbpedia to retrieve the corresponding imdblink link for the same. I am getting an empty set when I add the service of linkedmdb.

That does not work because of the ?filename variable
in the first SERVICE clause you get
?movie foaf:name ?filmname, thus, those are string literals
in the second SERVICE clause ?filmname are URIs
It will become easy to see if you run both SPARQL queries separately.
What you would have to do is to match on the title, i.e. change
?filmname dc:title ?title .
to
?filmname dc:title ?filmname .
Note, this might not work because of different types of strings, e.g. with and without language tag etc.
In that case you would have to match on the lexical form again, i.e. use temporary variables ?filmname1 and ?filmname2 and use

I am very new to this semantic web and I am doing some experiments with Sparql & DBPEDIA. I wrote a query to find out all the records which has firstName(givenName) and lastName(surName).

When I run this query I got 9,80,000 records. But when I ran the individual queries (for firstName and lastName) I got 9,92,000 records for firstName and 9,80,000 for lastName.
Here my question is how can I get the resources which has only firstName but not the lastName...???
You can use the NOT EXISTS clause with a FILTER to achieve this:

This filters out matches for ?x where the NOT EXISTS pattern is also matched.
Alternatively you can use the MINUS clause which does roughly the same bar some minor differences which won't affect your query:
